Chapter 44: Ambushed
Following the faint echo, I found myself standing in a circular temple that seemed to radiate otherworldly energy. The ground was marked with the intricate patterns of a summoning shrine. The air felt thick and charged with unspoken power, making my skin tingle with anticipation. I moved in the direction of the ruin's center after feeling an odd pull.
As I cautiously made my way towards the heart of the temple, the air grew increasingly heavy with a sense of foreboding. Shadows danced along the cracked walls, their movements unnaturally fluid, as if they had a life of their own. A chill snaked down my spine, raising the hairs on my arms despite the warmth of the stagnant air.
