Chapter 15: Another one
(Klein)
Sitting in his seat above the Grey Fog, Klein looked at the 2 stars of shining light that were pulsating, calling out to him.
Klein was unsure about if now was the right time or not.
He didn't know who these 2 stars represented, their backgrounds or anything of the sorts.
Using his control over the Sefirot, Klein was able to observe the 2 people from the shining stars.
The first of the stars was that of a young lady. She had sharp features with a soft, heart-shaped face. Her long blonde hair framed her face in waves, often glinting gold in the light. Her pale blue eyes were striking, usually filled with quiet intensity, though they could appear distant and guarded.
Klein had spent a while observing the young lady, yet she seemed to be living a completely normal life, happily with her family.
However…she had an ominous aura around her, and she seemed stressed most of the time while around her family.
In the 2 days she had been observing her, she was constantly consuming caffeine and using the medication of this world to stay awake.
She seems to have been 'cursed' by the Nightmare Spell.
After he finished observing her, Klein then shifted his observation to the next person from the stars.
The middle aged man had a chiselled, angular face with sharp, defined features that exuded confidence and power.
His short, neatly styled brown hair perfectly complemented his sharp suits, always impeccably tailored to his athletic, broad-shouldered frame.
His piercing blue eyes often carried a confident, almost arrogant gleam, while his strong jawline and controlled expressions made him appear both charismatic and intimidating.
There was one thing Klein was clearly able to observe, in the past 2 days while he has been researching his stay in this world.
This man was a Lawyer, and an excellent one at that.
Klein knew from some divinations, his natural spiritual senses which were acclimated to the Sefriot and from Arodes that mundane humans in this world could become Beyonders.
The specific process has yet to be determined by him, yet it seemed to be possible.
The 'Essence,' used in this world could be used as a substitute for Beyonder items which contained 'Spirituality.'
If this man didn't get selected by the nightmare spell and was willing…Klein didn't mind having a Beyonder other than himself inside of this world.
Yet for now, Klein decided to continue observing the two, not bringing them into the club yet.
For now, Klein had a lecture he could attend on divinations, and how 'seeing' fate works which was going to be provided in the 'Fate Watchers.' The small organisation run by Awakened Bailey.
Today, a mundane human who was a direct apprentice of Awakened Bailey was arriving to teach us on how to view fate.
This was going to be interesting for sure…
…
(Harvey Specter)
It had already been an entire year.
Harvey Specter sat in his apartment, loosening the tie from the suit he had worn for yet another day in court.
He had lived in this world for over a year now, a world that mirrored the one he had left behind but was undeniably different. The city around him looked like New York, but it wasn't.
The people, the skyscrapers, the law — they were all familiar enough to lull him into a false sense of normalcy, but Harvey knew better. This wasn't home.
He could still remember the moment everything changed. Back in his world, Mike was facing jail time for his fraud, and Harvey was prepared to take the fall, to confess in Mike's place.
It was a decision that defied everything Harvey once stood for — something he'd never imagined doing for anyone. Mike had made him a better person, someone who actually cared about more than just winning.
But just as he had steeled himself to make the choice, everything went dark. When he woke up, he was in this world.
At first, he had thought it was all a dream — one of those disorienting nightmares you can't quite shake.
But it wasn't.
He was still Harvey Specter, still a lawyer, still driven by the same ambition to succeed.
The only difference?
Everyone he knew was gone.
There was no Mike, no Donna, no Jessica.
His family still existed here, but they weren't the same. His mother hadn't cheated on his father in this world, and Harvey's childhood was less scarred.
Yet something that should have made him feel better himself didn't affect him at all…since to him, he didn't see these people as his 'true' family.
He stayed with them since they had familiar mannerisms and speech, but something felt off to him.
In the end, the only thing he could rely on was his ability to practise law.
Setting up his own firm had been easy enough.
In a world where the legal system wasn't so different from the one he knew, Harvey's skills were as sharp as ever. He used his charm, wit, and connections from the "previous him" to build his practice from the ground up.
In just a year, he had amassed a small fortune and established himself as one of the top lawyers in the Northern Quadrant Siege Capital (NSQC).
But as the months went by, he started to notice something unsettling.
The legal world here was heavily tilted in favour of the "Awakened" — those with supernatural abilities that gave them control over more than just the law.
They had influence, power, and connections that made even the most well-connected lawyers seem insignificant.
Harvey knew he was playing a dangerous game. No matter how many cases he won, how much money he made, or how much power he amassed, he was still on the outside. The Awakened were untouchable, and that gnawed at him. Harvey had always believed in control — in controlling the narrative, the courtroom, and his life. But here, he wasn't in control.
That bothered him more than he cared to admit.
Even though Harvey's practice was thriving, he couldn't shake the feeling of isolation.
Every time he closed a case or walked away with another victory, it felt hollow. The people he worked with respected him, admired him even, but they weren't Donna. They weren't Jessica.
And they sure as hell weren't Mike.
He would come home to his empty penthouse apartment and feel the silence stretch around him.
It wasn't just the absence of his friends that weighed on him; it was the realisation that this world wasn't his. The family he had here, his mother and father, were kind, supportive.
But they weren't the parents he had fought to forgive. They didn't understand him the way Donna had. They didn't push him like Jessica. No one here saw through the polished exterior to the man underneath.
In this world, he was alone.
