The short interaction between Devon and Malik piqued the interest of many students as they slowly gathered, expecting a fight.
"Isn't that Devon? I have never seen him fight before," a female student whispered to her friend.
"That's not even fair. Out of all people to pick on, he chose Malik," a male student said, clearly interested in the outcome of the altercation.
Meanwhile, with his sensitive ears, Devon was able to hear the others' discussion, and it was then that he realized what he had just done.
Malik was not just any student. He was a troublemaker who loved fighting. He was the kind of student that parents wouldn't want their child to associate with.
But now, Devon himself had just angered the warlord, as Malik was nicknamed.
Devon quickly let go of Malik's chains and stepped back. Malik's face said it all - he was not happy with what had just happened, and if he didn't teach Devon a lesson now, then others would take him for granted.
Bashing his teeth together, Malik threw out his fist and at the same time threw the other.
Meanwhile, to Devon, the attack was sudden, but he was still able to evade them with ease.
"Wait, I am sorry, I was carried away by something!" Devon called out to Malik.
Meanwhile, Malik was enraged that none of his fists connected and someone like Devon was able to avoid his blows. He was surprised, but his astonishment was overshadowed by anger.
He swung a kick at Devon, but Devon blocked it with his elbow, while Malik swung his arms down at Devon again.
This time, Devon caught it with his fan.

'Shit, just like in the games... I have to end this now,' Devon thought.
"Wait... Please, I am sorry for what I did," Devon pleaded while holding onto Malik's fist.
At that moment, Malik kicked him in the chest, sending him skidding on the floor.

'Shit... Can't he hear me at all,' Devon cursed inwardly while bracing himself for a serious beating, but none of that happened.
Malik was looking at Devon, expecting him to get up and continue the fight. It was not Malik's way of fighting to attack his opponent while they were on the floor.
However, Devon was not getting up. He was not planning to continue the fight.
Soon, the crowd started to disperse as they left for their classes.
"It is a shame... I can't believe for a moment I thought he might have stood a chance with his weird quick movement," some students chatted as they left.
Slowly, Devon looked up but could still see Malik staring at him.
"What is wrong with you... I thought you wanted a fight?" Malik asked, clearly disappointed in Devon for quickly giving up.
"I was only trying to look at your chains... Sorry for my manner of approach," Devon apologized.
Since Devon had no real silver to carry out the werewolf test, he could only rely on someone he was sure had silver. Malik, being one of the extravagant students and quite close to Devon, had no option but to use him.
The problem was that Devon was carried away and never asked for Malik's permission before yanking his chain forward.
"I see... Your apology is accepted," Malik said.
One good thing about Malik was that although he was a troublemaker, he only picked on people his size, and Devon was not his size.
Before Devon could go, Malik had a few more things to say. "You are a good fighter though, maybe you should try out some street brawls... I know you, you are Devon Matt, the guy obsessed with money," Malik said.
"With your skills, I am pretty sure you might win some rounds and make some cash for yourself," after Malik said this, he gave Devon a small card.
"Here is the address. Be there by 9 pm," he said, handing over a piece of paper to Devon before walking away.
Meanwhile, Devon stared at the piece of paper in a daze. 'Street brawl... I have tried that before, but failed to win a single match. Can I do it again now that I am a changed person?' Devon wondered as he recalled his first attempt at a street brawl.
He remembered how badly he was beaten back then, all because he was frail. But now that he was a werewolf, he wondered whether he could take on such a task.
Nevertheless, Devon shoved the paper into his school uniform and then thought about the message from earlier.
[You have come in contact with 70% silver metal. No effect detected]
He read the message. It was still there for him to read. It now had a mark that showed it was an already read message.
"Does this mean something was meant to happen? I mean, if silver is meant to affect werewolves, is there a reason why this one didn't do anything?" Devon wondered.
'Perhaps it's because of its percentage, but seventy percent is not just a small amount,'
In the end, Devon had to throw this thought to the back of his mind. He would take it as the system says - silver did not affect him.
Meanwhile, Devon had returned to his class where their homeroom teacher was known as Dennis. He was slightly short and in his late thirties.
"Okay, everyone, get settled down for your lessons," Dennis said as he went up to the whiteboard and wrote down the history of the beast.
"Just like you all might have been informed, a beast was said to have crossed the city borderline, and this prompts me to have this as our topic for today,"
"Today, we will be speaking of the beast and its origin. You all might have known that some of our greatest scientists said that the beast originated from a crystal they called an alien crystal.
"These crystals are divided into five colors, each with its effect on beasts. However, we will be focusing more on the black-colored crystal,"
"Now, this crystal is said to be the reason why some of our normal pets have evolved into wild beasts."
"At first, it was a devastating occurrence for humans as everywhere became chaotic. It is only thanks to the special ones known as the extraordinary that humans were able to push forward,"
"You might be asking yourselves, who are the extraordinary? Why haven't you heard of them? That is because the government of each country highly seeks them out. Every single extraordinary person ever known is working under the government," Dennis said.
"As for who they are? The extraordinary are special humans who, just like beasts, were able to mutate and wield magical power. How their powers work is still unknown, but it was through their help that beast weapons were able to be created, thus increasing the chances of human survival," the teacher explained.
Meanwhile, beside Devon, Kelvin started to speak in a low voice. "Hey, werewolf boy... If you were able to become extraordinary, what would you want to be?" He asked.
Something inside Devon was triggered when Kelvin called him out, but Devon just ignored it. How was Kelvin meant to know that he was an actual werewolf? On the other hand, he is a mind reader, which he is not.
"Just leave me alone," Devon said, trying to focus. Unfortunately, he was a little bit louder, and teacher Dennis heard him.
"Kelvin and Devon, it seems like you two have something to say?" teacher Dennis asked.
Kelvin stood up and repeated what the teacher had said.
"Just because you are smart doesn't mean you should interrupt my classes," teacher Dennis said.
Kelvin nodded apologetically. Meanwhile, when it was Devon's turn to say something, he started to fumble.
Dennis shook his head in disappointment while the class giggled.
"As I was saying, the extraordinary are highly wanted by the government, and if any of you happen to become one, trust me, you and your entire bloodline will never lack anything in this world,"
Hearing these words from his teacher, Devon's head swelled.
