Chapter 8: Having a Scan

"Oh, Innocent child," she said, touching her stomach. She felt happy about the fact that she is going to be a mother. She had never experienced the joy of motherhood but now she felt happy, another being was growing inside her. It has now become her responsibility to take care of the child. "Mom, it's unbelievable I have about 27 weeks left and my child would come into the world" she said happily

(Smiling) " I was very happy, when I got you and I know when he or she comes to the world, you would be happy as well "

Since Selom was worried about her child, Terasa had no choice than to take her to a doctor so she could have an auto scan of the baby. She had to say, the way her daughter accepts things is very quick. She had accepted the fact that she is pregnant and was already becoming a mother.

"Doctor Teresa, it's good to have you here. What a pleasant surprise" A woman who had a white coat said, smiling happily. Looking at her you could tell she was a professional at a glance and one could also tell that the relationship between Teresa and her was very good.

(Laughing) " Don't make it sound so bad, you are turning me into a victim here. Anyone hearing you would take me as a bad person you know? Whereas if you had missed me the way you made it sound then you know where to find me. We work in the same hospital, remember?" Teresa said, giving her a funny look. This woman before her was really a trouble maker.

" Oh those stairs! Would I ever make it alive to your place?" The woman said with a painful expression

(Laughing) " Stairs? Clara you are really something, what happened to the elevators? It won't take you even a minute to reach me"

"Clara? So that's the woman's name?" Selom said, smiling to herself.

Seeing that she had been caught in between her lies, Clara burst into laughter. " you know very well of my condition, I am claustrophobic remember?"

"What an excuse! We both know that's a big lie, the right word to use is biggest lie. You exaggerate even the tiniest things" Teresa said smiling.

Selom looking at them could understand what was happening. They've actually forgotten about her existence, both women must have missed each other's company. But why would they miss themselves? They were both at the same hospital. It seems she wouldn't be able to understand the ways of Doctors, because to her it wouldn't take her long to see her friend, even if it meant travelling. Since she wanted them to have all the time they wanted, she quietly found a spot to sit down. She kept herself busy with a magazine she had seen on Clara's desk, it was very interesting.

(Laughing) " I have really missed you"Clara said, heaving a sigh of relief, finally she said those words out of her own mouth.
