Chapter 288

Looking at the distance Lily couldn't believe her eyes. She felt she was now too old to see even though she was more like a young woman in her 40's.

"Kent? Is that not Kent?"Granny said pointing in the same direction she had seen him.

"Ma'am," Butler Sam said following her line of sight. Looking closely it was indeed him "Madam, it looks like the eldest young master but what could he be doing here?" He said, sounding surprised. They all knew how much he didn't like coming over to the country. Kent hates being any where close to the old man, so what could he be doing here now?

"There's no doubt about it, that kid wants to surprise us with his arrival. I think we should take a cab back home. That car must have been taken by him, u nearly got a heart attack. I don't want to spoil his surprise, the old man would be so shocked as well, I can't wait" Lily said, sounding very excited. Thank goodness she saw him, she had a lot of scores she had to settle with the young man. He owed her a lot of explanation and who knows, she could be very lucky this time and get another sperm sample off him, just tye thought of torturing him emotionally gave her butterflies in her stomach. With the old man's help she is sure to get another sample, if she had to knock him out then she would gladly do it after all it's all for the future generation. 

Without wasting any time, Lily felt if she stopped a cab she would be seen by her grandson in the process of getting in or maybe when she was already inside the cab, ao she couldn't risk it. "Sam let's go" she said, holding his hands as she disappeared into thin air.

On getting to the mansion, sure enough it was all quiet, it seems the old man did not notice a thing. "Madam, I would have conveyed us home, you didn't have to exhaust your strength " he said, sounding very serious. She had mentioned taking a cab earlier so he never thought she would make use of her powers. She would have at least let him know he had enough energy to convey the both of them unlike her. 

"Stop being a pain in the ass and stop sounding like the old man. I am strong enough to handle my matters, I am no weakling. If someone does you something good or nice the least you can say is 'thank you' instead of complaining" Lily said prouting. They were always like this, worrying themselves over nothing.

"Stop looking so stunned like I said something which is out of the planet. Don't you watch movies? What world do you and the old man love in, the first world creation? So annoying, when I say stop being a pain in the ass what I literally mean is that you shouldn't be a sore in my butt"she said proudly, she was so serious that her words sounded more like a lecture.

(Speechless) Butler Sam had already lost his voice, in fact his voice was nowhere to be found. All these words were strange to him, especially the fact that it was coming from his mistress, it sounded more weird.

"Sam I never knew you to be an ingrate. You haven't thanked me yet for bringing you home"

"Thank you madam, you are indeed very generous " He said bowing slightly.

"Good, now I want a lot of preparation to be carried out, let's welcome Kent in a grand style. He should be surprised himself " Lily said with a smile, now all she needed was a good bath and a little nap. The stress of the day was something she would love to do away with.

"Yes Madam, I would do exactly as told" he assured her while his mistress walked up the stairs. Now that he was back she had nothing to worry about just as always he would handle everything. 

****Back at the hospital

"I wonder what kind of man you are, you just do things in an disorderly manner"

"This makes me human, we are bound to make mistakes" Kent replied

"I never expected such a statement too bad for you, you ain't human"

"Once the mechanic is done fixing the car…I'll return the old man's car back to him, stop making a big deal out of this"Kent said

"He isn't making a big deal out of it, if it happens to be the old man's car then we got ourselves into a bigger mess" Strings replied, he knew it was a very bad idea to follow him up here. But if he didn't he would miss too much and he would live in regret all his life.

"And you know how we all get on the old man's wrong foot. Just the thought is freaking me out" Joey added

"Stop worrying over that, the old man barely takes a car out, this surely belongs to my grandmother, trust me when I say she wouldn't mind at all. And about coming here, your safety is all on me so don't worry too much about it. Lee you've suddenly turned mute, what happened? It seemed you've switched places with Adams, that guy has been a chatterbox" he said confidently.

(Chuckles) "Adams has really been a chatterbox I won't dispute the fact, I have a long on my mind so it's better I reserve my comments for later"

(Smirks) "You are nothing but a disappointment, all I do is give you a helping hand and what did I get in return? A slap on my face" Adams said in disgust.

The remaining men immediately burst out in laughter. "We all left our important job to stick to your ass, I hope it's all worth it Kent. If that child has already been formed in the womb you would have no choice than to make me his or her godfather" Joey said stretching lazily now he has made up his mind that he wouldn't stress over nothing at most he would be just like an onlooker. He has now taken the job of being a tourist and he would stock it even if they were to beat him to death.

Kent reading his thoughts couldn't stop glaring at him. "You can glare at me all you want, it's already decided I have made up my mind" Joey said with a smile, he wouldn't compromise anything.

The five men had no option than to find a good spot to sit down and chill Grom the long journey. All Kent cared about after the flight was arriving at this hospital for a check and they got nothing. Things were getting more stressful, but now they felt less burdened because Kent was closer to his answers all he just needed was to ask the old man. Based on the feud between them, all the men knew that it wouldn't be possible on first sitting, their fight could take days before a solution is gotten.

"How are you going to face the old man? Looking at you, you don't seem like someone who has a plan" 

"Hmm..don't ask me questions.Lets get going"Kent replied giving him a stern look.

"We are risking our lives for you and we don't even know what your plan is" 

"(Laughs) your lives are all worthless, I can't even put a price tag on that piece of shit you call 'lives'. So worry less dudes"Kent said while patting Joey on the shoulder

His friends kept giving each other a weird kind of smile.It is now becoming more hot than expected. They felt like naked chicken who appeared in front of the lion for a peace talk. How the hell would that happen? They would all get eaten up even before they were given the chance to speak. They were already so used to Kent's words, but that didn't stop them from loving him and staying besides him. They were true friends and they knew he would do the same thing for them if they were in his shoes.it was just that he kind of had a problem showing off his love.

"Being human now, I am sure someone must have seen you when you took the car and sure enough good civilians would call up the cops" Strings said out loud, there was always a special way to go around unpleasant things like Lark Kent 

"If you get caught..we will too.I will be made a partner in crime and that would be an insult to my career as the best lawyer ever. Kent..i am too young to go to jail.All my life I've been working up right, doing good deeds" Joey said supporting Strings words. This was called pulling the needle by its thread, this gets both the needle and the thread stuck to a spot.

"(Laughs) I never forced you guys to come along with me in a stolen car as you've said. it's all your choice dudes.Walk down to those hospitals if you want.I will meet you there"Kent replied

"What!? Do we still have more hospitals to go to? That's a bad idea to move around with a stolen car" Adams scream in horror

"What's up with you guys and the stolen car? It's not stolen, it's taken, it belongs to me indirectly"

"I knew what stealing meant right from my mother's womb, it's having to take people's personal things without permission and the last time we all checked, you took no permission. " Adams said giving him the 'you think we didn't see what you did' kind of look.

"Have you ever in your life been placed at the back of a car, like in the boot with your hands tied and your lips sealed?" Kent said, looking at Adams.

"I haven't, just like I haven't donated a sperm and later when to retrieve it and viola I got the wrong sample back and I felt proud about it until the lab test results came out and it happens that it wasn't mine. Then it all turned on me that I got my ass kicked so badly" Adams responded

All the other men present couldn't control their laughter at all even Lee who was doing a lot of thinking burst into Laughter, he even had tears rolling down his eyes.

(Laughing) "Bravo Adams, don't you see the look on his face? You made him speechless, " Strings said, giving him a round of applause. This was the best answer Adams has given Kent in his whole life if existence and it happens that Kent was left dumbstruck, he was still recovering from the massive blow.

Too bad he couldn't be threatened this time around, then Kent had threatened to kick him out of the car but now he wasn't falling for another threat.

Few minutes later Kent recovered from the shock. He didn't say any more words, he wasn't angry at all, it was just that he found his own situation laughable. Just when the atmosphere became more awkward the auto mechanic came in. "Sir, I have gotten the car fixed, the price is just a few dollars" a fat man with a rounded face said with a smile

"Is that so? You have this" Kent said, stuffing a few dollars in his hands.

"Wow, sir, this is actually more than what I worked for" 

"You can keep the change, you just walked in at the right time" Kent said coldly as always.

"Thanks alot," He said and left immediately. He didn't want his clients to change his mind about the money, so he increased his pace.

"Let's go to the mansion then" Kent said, getting up he walked up to where the cat was parked. He had used his own fingerprint to close its active system so that the mechanic could work freely on the car so he immediately activated it back on.

Lee, Strings, Joey and Adam's immediately followed behind him. The only men who had a serious face on were Kent and Adams. The remaining three kept replaying Adam's words over and over again in their mind and you could tell this from the funny way they placed their faces. 

"You drive," Kent said, throwing the key over to Adams. He knew that when the fool drives, it would save them from a lot of talking.

"I thought you spoke about a high technology ass of a stuff" Adams said looking at Kent strangely and then at the keys he caught in his hands.

" I gave the command, so drive damnit" he ordered

Left with no other option he humbly obeyed but he knew very well that he was trying to find a way to shut him up and he wouldn't allow that."You want me to drive a stolen car? Of course I will. The things you make me do for you" He said sitting in the driver's seat. Starting the engine, he suddenly felt so good about it "She's in good condition, what happened to this baby then" he said sounding very excited. He looked like a greedy politician who saw nothing but money.

(Clears his throat) "Kent buddy, I suddenly feel off about this whole thing. I think it's a very bad idea to have him drive us to the mansion. The last time he drove us somewhere with such a look on his face, I ended up sleeping for days" Joey said, holding his head with a painful expression.

"Owh, you don't find anything funny again? What happened to the happy look you had earlier?" Kent said looking at him

"Let's just have him drive," Joey said, admitting defeat.

"You know I have good driving skills, I never knew this baby was so good. Mehn did you hear the sound of the engine? It's brings her up alive and light on my world"

"Are we talking about your girlfriend or something else?" Joey couldn't help but ask. They were all doomed, from the very first time Kent handed the keys to Adams he knew they were all dead. The bear is already tempted so the bees no longer have any right on the honey. It was all over, even if Kent changes his mind about having Adams drive, the guy wouldn't give him back the car keys even if he would be stung to death, he would happily die.

"I am talking about this car dude, she's good. I would advise you all to put on your seat belts. I want to know if she got speed " Adams said holding the steering wheel like it was one of his master's piece that needs testing.

(Sweating profusely) "I knew it was a bad idea, '' Joey said at the verge of tears as he quickly put his seatbelt on. Without wasting time, they could all year the loud noise of the engine as he stepped on the accelerator, firing the car one. After he was done, he stepped on the Clutch even more, setting on the gear, they felt themselves flying. What was the use? Just the speed Adams used would attract the cops to them."What a good mama! He shouted with joy as he speed up even more "If it happens that you get a clue about the sperm sample, what would you do about it?"he continued
