"Naruto, are you interested? Do you want to buy one?"
"I promise you won't regret it!"
Mu Bai offered with a smile.
"Okay, okay, I'll buy a Pokémon too."
Naruto agreed quickly, still enthusiastic about Hoopa and hoping to get one for himself.
"Here, this is the Pokémon Guide. It contains information on all available Pokémon," Mu Bai said, handing Naruto the guide.
"With just one click, you can select one at random."
Naruto looked at the guide, confused. "Randomly selected? Can't I just get a Hoopa?"
"Yes, it's randomly selected."
"If you're lucky, you might draw Hoopa."
Mu Bai nodded, though he knew that Hoopa and other legendary or mythical Pokémon were not actually available in his shop. The highest tier Pokémon in his store were quasi-legends. Still, he didn't want to disappoint Naruto, so he told a little white lie.
"Alright, I'll give it a try."
Naruto eagerly rubbed his hands and clicked the button in the guide. The screen of the Pokémon Guide flashed rapidly, showing various black shadows moving quickly.
Naruto originally didn't particularly care about what Pokémon was, but after seeing Hoopa, Naruto was really interested.
If you have Hoopa's company, he will be very happy.
After a few seconds, the black shadow slowly froze.
Naruto was intrigued by the strange shapes. After a few seconds, the shadow slowed and the image settled.
"Brother Mu Bai, what is this?" Naruto asked, stunned.
The guide displayed a small, four-legged Pokémon resembling a fox. It had reddish-brown fur, amber eyes, large pointed ears, and six orange curly tails. Its white belly and brown paws completed the look.
"It seems like you've drawn a good one. This Pokémon is called Vulpix, and it's quite special," Mu Bai explained with a smile.
"Vulpix? A fox?" Naruto asked, looking uncertain. Given that he had been called a fox demon by Konoha villagers, he was not particularly fond of foxes.
The Nine-Tails, sealed within Naruto, suddenly reacted. It laughed heartily, finding the situation amusing.
"Hahahaha, a six-tailed fox? This is hilarious!"
The Nine-Tails found the notion of a Vulpix being compared to a tailed beast particularly funny. It joked about how amusing it would be if a Vulpix encountered a real tailed beast in the future.
For the Nine-Tails, Pokémon like Vulpix and other psychic beasts were not worth much attention—they were too weak compared to the tailed beasts. However, when it heard that Vulpix was referred to as "Six Tails," it found the situation amusing.
The Nine-Tails thought it would be entertaining if Naruto bought this Vulpix and, in the future, used it to mock any tailed beasts they might encounter. The Nine-Tails didn't have much regard for the other tailed beasts, so finding humor in this situation was a small joy.
"If you don't like it, you can try again. You get five draws per day," Mu Bai offered, noticing Naruto's hesitation.
"No, Brother Mu Bai, I want to see the Vulpix," Naruto decided. Despite his past experiences, he didn't want to reject the Pokémon based on superficial reasons.
"Alright, please wait."
Mu Bai went to the back and soon returned holding a Vulpix.
"Is this it?" Mu Bai asked.
Naruto's eyes brightened. The Vulpix was even cuter in person, with its soft eyes full of curiosity and charm.
