Chapter 49: United Front

William slid down behind a tree and with most of the wolves so distracted, none seemed to notice him.

He didn’t know why he felt he had to come down to help Reni, it’s not like he was going to be able to do much but distract Phinn.

Thankfully, though, he saw the two were just mainly circling each other, not in a full lock, like Owen and the other wolf.

William made sure Reni had it under control, well… as much as he could without really understanding what was going on. He then slid over to Owen and the other wolf.

Maybe he could at least cause a distraction enough when Owen really needed it so he could get the upper hand. Or would it be paw?

William shook his head at himself.

Yeah, like that mattered at the moment.

Arion could hear everything going on. It was killing her more than her wounds to not be able to do anything.

She wanted things to come fully back into focus before she could jump in or she could cause more damage than good.
