The Surprising Morning

The sun rays hit her eyes and slowly started to enlarge, and warmth pressed upon her cheeks. Luiza raised her hands, but this time she felt no barrier. She pressed her other hand on her cheek, and she could feel the warmth of the sun.

"Am I alive?" She curled herself into a small ball.

At that moment, all she wanted was a warm hug and the warmth of someone. She wanted to cry and cry. As if the sun goddess could hear her wounded heart, the sunrays kept her warm and gave her company.

Her tears soaked her pillow, and she took a deep breath once she was done crying. Even if it were like last time, maybe this time she could give it a try. Her hopes had been crushed through and through, but maybe it would be different.

She slowly opened her eyes. The entire place felt different; it was no longer a dark room or a burning house. As her eyes started to adjust to the light, she realized that she was in her room.
