The death
It was far too much in the past to recall, she thought as she kept on sipping on her wine. As they kept on drinking and enjoying each other's company despite not sharing words, Gaia felt comforted. Perhaps she wouldn't mind dying after all.
Her throat felt dry and coarse, and she had a hard time breathing.
"Ahem!" She choked on her wine, which splattered on the rug, and she got on her four limbs. Her knees hit the ground too hard, and her body ached.
She continued to cough, and slowly she started to cough blood. The blood was thrown on the floor, which stained the luxurious rug. Elijah stood still for a few moments. He could barely believe what he saw, but the moment he got back to reality, he immediately got on his knees and carried Gaia to the bed.
"Stay still." He said it softly while allowing her to lean her head on his warm chest.
