"You already know?" Weilan asked in astonishment, realizing at the same time that Li Man had already told him.
"Yes, I know," Lu Hechen replied with a slightly hurried tone, "How is Dad doing?"
"He's very stable now, resting in the ward," Weilan quickly replied, "You don't need to worry."
Over the phone, Weilan clearly heard Lu Hechen as if he had let out a sigh of relief.
In that moment, Weilan's heart clenched, and it was noticeably painful.
"Brother Hechen, Dad currently refuses to see any of us, even Qin Meifen. Right now, Qin Meifen and Lu Heyan are both outside the door, and I was a bit worried, so I called for Li Man. Dad, however, doesn't refuse to see Li Man," Weilan reported the situation over the phone.
Lu Hechen didn't speak, and after a while, he just gave an "Mhmm."
Upon hearing this, Weilan's tone became extraordinarily somber; a pang of pain struck her heart. She could understand Lu Hechen's feelings—it was, after all, his father.
