Weilan felt that Lu Yuanhe's question was laced with some kind of concern. She looked at him and tentatively asked, "Are you worried about my safety?"
Lu Yuanhe nodded.
"Don't worry," Weilan said gravely, "as long as my share of the will remains unchanged, I am safe. From the first day I moved into the Lu Family, someone has been eyeing Brother Hechen's shares."
Lu Yuanhe's face tightened, and his eyes narrowed as he said in a deep voice, "What did you say?"
Weilan sighed inwardly. "Dad, by asking me this, all I can say is that you have chosen to be blissfully ignorant in the past."
Lu Yuanhe was no fool; he understood Weilan's irony immediately.
He hesitated, and in the end, he didn't say anything and turned to leave.
After closing the door, Weilan walked to the window and looked outside where everything was quiet and still, without a single sound.
