Chapter 2 – Like an Atomic Bomb

At the Rayn family residence. Everyone was enjoying dinner, except for Kiano who was still in the office struggling with some work. He felt his neck tighten too. Because he had to collide with the screen on his laptop which contained several company reports. His eyes were already hot.

"It's better to work overtime, than to listen to the chatter from mom and dad about heredity," snorted Kiano as he loosened the tie on his shirt collar. He is actually fed up with the rules that exist in his family. "When will I be free to choose what I want. Without any interference from them," he muttered.

At his desk Celine looks very gloomy. Because, she had to work overtime like a horse. She didn't even get to date her girlfriend. She felt really sorry for his boss's attitude. Unfortunately she is still under contract with Rayn Construction company.

"Miss Celine isn't coming home?"

"How can I go home, sir. How is this work?"

Karen wanted to laugh too. She was just grateful that her fate was only as her sales admin staff who never had direct contact with her superiors. Although, the salary is not as big as Celine.

"La, let's go back."

"Just a minute, Ren. It's very painful."

"Hey, hurry up. Later, what do you want to add to your work with the boss?"

Daniel took a deep breath. "Yeah, really. Sometimes you're a bit smart!"

"Damn it. Am I that stupid?" she asked.

"Yes, you could say that," laughed Danilla.

"Damn you!" cursed Karen angrily.

"Well, you're a bit of an idiot. Especially when it comes to love that can kill you."

"Hey. You don't have to talk too much about love. How are you, Mr. Akbar, who doesn't come? Maybe he already has another woman. Which is definitely more beautiful and bohay. Rather than you, La," Karen laughed dryly.

"None of your business, Karen. I'm sure, if Mas Akbar will come back, "said Danilla by lifting her head up.

"Certain? Will you come back again, Mr. Akbarnya? Remember, it's almost hundreds of full moons," said Karen.

"Just wait for the game date," said Danilla. "Even though my body and Mas Akbar are separated between two oceans, I'm sure the love is still the same," he added.

"Time? Why can't I be sure?" Karen tries to make Danilla think badly of Akbar.

"I'm a thousand percent sure! Mas Akbar will be loyal," said Danilla with a faint smile. "Yes I am sure. Mas Akbar will go home," she thought.

"Every bend is possible there must be!" snickered Karen.

"Just reckless, if you say!" said Danilla smacking Karen's head.

"Ow!" Karen whimpered in excruciating pain.

"Where's your husband, Vir?" Rayn also asked his beloved son-in-law who was sitting together at the dining table.

"Mas Kiano is at the office overtime, Pa," replied Vira.

"How can he give me a grandson, if he keeps working overtime?" said Rayn.

"Honey, maybe Kiano is having a special project," said Joana by pouring mineral water into her husband's glass.

"How can he continue like this?" Rayn grumbled. "He has a wife at home, he should have come home sooner. Doesn't she realize that he is married, Ma?"

Vira was silent. She doesn't know how to deal with her husband anymore.

"Vir, tell your husband. He had to go home now, otherwise. I'll cross it off the Rayn family's heir data."

"Okay, Papa."

Vira, a beautiful woman who used to live in an orphanage, was forced to accept her match with Kiano. She had already made a promise to the Kiano family who would provide assistance to go to school.

Vira repeatedly called Kiano, but her calls were always ignored. She was just silent in the silence of the night.

"Am I just a wife on paper, Mas," one breath of Vira while holding back the pain. In fact, she had never slept in the same bed with her.

Vira returned to the dining table, she was frozen silent.

"How has your husband been contacted?" Rayn also asked back to his favorite son-in-law.

Vira just shook her head.

"That kid is outrageous!" Rayn growled clenching his right hand on the dining table. He also feels sorry for Vira who is always ignored by Kiano.

"Pa, Vira is fine. Maybe, Mas Kiano is having a lot of work at the office," Vira smiled stiffly, she didn't want there to be a fight between father and son. She tried to give an excuse, so that the situation does not escalate.

"Let papa call him! Working period is a priority, while having a wife is just like that," Rayn scolded in a heavy tone shrouded in emotion.

Kiano didn't come home last night at all. He chose to spend the night in the office until he fell asleep in his room.

"Sir?"

A faint voice sounded in Kiano's right ear.

"Vira?"

"Sir, this is breakfast for you," said Vira, bringing a two-tiered basket filled with food.

Kiano wakes up. He felt his sleep disturbed by the arrival of his wife.

"Just put it there," Kiano pointed at the table near the sofa. "And, you should just go home. Because I don't need you!"

Vira was silent. She tried to contain the pain in her heart.

"I'm not your ideal wife, sir. But, what's wrong with me doing my duty as a wife for you," Vira said in her mind, then she went out of Kiano's room without answering or saying a word.

"You damn wife!" hissed Kiano.

Kiano also called an office boy to his room. Then, in five minutes the office boy came.

TOK! TOK! TOK!

"Enter!" Kiano's orders.

"What did you call me here for?" asked the office boy in a trembling voice. Because Kiano's attitude made many employees afraid.

"That's what you bring and eat," Kiano pointed to a basket that Vira had brought.

"Okay sir."

"Don't forget to wash it when you finish it," Kiano said in a cold tone.

"Thank you sir."

"Hey."

The office boy came out with the stacked basket. At the end, Vira felt very disappointed. Because the husband never appreciated his efforts at all. He couldn't help but feel the tightness in his chest.

"Do I have to endure this marriage?" Vira thought by holding back her tears in an office toilet.

There's a lot of news at the office. Daniel looked curious, but was reluctant to find out.

"Is there any news?" she asked.

"How would I know, Ren. I'm not a member of the lambe turah!" Danilla shrugged his shoulders. He didn't know if there was any gossip. She doesn't want to live taking care of people's lives. Because life is just that complicated.

"You never update!" squeaked Karen with pouting lips.

"Haha. Most cheap gossip. How do you care so much!" Danilla even chewed her gum.

"But, aren't you curious about what the others are gossiping about?" Karen looked at Danilla.

"I'm curious, but no. Then it will add to the sin of listening to news that is not necessarily the source of the truth," Danilla took a gum from her bag and chewed it slowly.

"Just keep eating chewing gum, if you're hot, you'll know the taste!" quipped Karen.

"Damn it! You used to swear at me all!" snorted Danilla as she puffed her gum.

Karen's small laugh saw Danilla's conical lips.

"Come on, don't chew the gum, if your boss finds out, you'll..."

"Is there an article for not being allowed to eat chewing gum in the office?"

"Nope."

"Well, you don't have to bring it up boss!"

"Danilla."

Danilla gasped, as she popped the bubbles on her gum. She didn't even realize that there was Kiano in front of her. Meanwhile, the crowd had already scattered to see Kiano's arrival.

"You finished this to my room. I have something to say."

Danilla just nodded and put the bubble gum back into her mouth.

"Yes Boss!" Danilla smirked, holding out her hand.

"One more thing."

"What, sir?"

"I don't stop my employees from eating chewing gum. As long as you do a good job," Kiano said in a cold tone, then turned his body towards his throne room.

"La, don't be so inconsiderate in front of the boss," whispered Karen.

"It's okay!" replied Danilla.

"Throw away your gum first," Karen said in a whisper. "Don't forget to say hello to Mr. Kiano!" Karen smirked, blinking her eyes.

"ISH!" Danilla hissed in annoyance at Karen's words. "Why your eyes? Recurrent?"

Karen instead smirked without answering Danilla's question.

Danilla also tied her shoulder-length curls into a ponytail that accentuated the nape of her neck. Then, take some files on his desk.

"Cheer up, La! You can do it!" Karen raised her clenched right hand while curling a crescent moon smile on her lips.

KOK TOK TOK.

"Enter!" Kiano ordered from inside the room.

Danilla went into Kiano Rayn's room. He took a deep breath, then exhaled. He felt very nervous about entering the gates of hell.

"Bismillah," said Danilla before entering the hot room with a hellish aura.

Outside as usual. Celine was eavesdropping behind her boss room door.

HEEM.

"What?" Celine stared scornfully, when Karen caught her eavesdropping on her boss' conversation with Danilla inside.

"Miss Celine, your ears aren't hot?" quipped Karen.

"None of your business Karen," Celine muttered with a sharp glare at Karen. Her nose is puffy.

"Oh my, it's normal, Mrs. Celine. You don't have to use muscles," Karen chuckled.

Celine raised an eyebrow, she looked very annoyed with Karen's attitude.

Fifteen minutes later Danilla came out of the room. To make Celine surprised, because she was afraid of being caught eavesdropping on the conversation in her boss's room.

"He won't be long," Celine muttered as she pretended to be working at her computer.

Danilla also felt annoyed. Because she had to work late tonight. Even though she had already bought tickets for the BTS concert at Senayan.

"Damn it! I won't be seeing bias tonight!" mumbled Danilla. "All this because of that damn boss!" she added, tapping her fingernails on her desk.

"What are you doing, La?" asked Karen narrowing her eyes. "Are you having a problem with the boss?"

Danilla sat at her desk with a gloomy face. She folded her arms and hid her face there.

"What's the matter? Did you come out of the boss room your face like a living zombie?" asked Daniel again.

"I failed to see BTS!" Danilla whined.

Karen could only laugh until her stomach cramped. She didn't expect that his best friend was willing to queue up for two days and two nights at Senayan to watch the BTS concert. Turns out to have to thwart it.

Danilla felt weak and wanted to speak harshly to her boss.
