Chapter 11- Field Boss
Mylo was currently surveying the surrounding area around the wolf's den dungeon. Two hours passed since his search for clues leading to the unknown beast, but to no avail.
"Ha~… how am I supposed to complete this quest… he could of given me a clue or something helpful."
"Ha~… guess ill move further into the forest instead of staying around the den. I might be able to find something that leads me to the right direction."
Having left the wolf hunting ground, Mylo could see numerous players hunting level ten boars and other similar beasts around the area.
"Seems like players are approaching the level 10 mark."
As he was thinking about the remaining time left until someone reached level 10. A system message appeared in front of him.

Mylo left his current location in order to be in a more isolated area, leaving behind the numerous players farming for levels. Making sure to kill any mob he came across. After a few hours of wandering about, a sudden but familiar sound resonated in his ear.

"What is this?"
before him was a beautiful, eye-catching, lime-green flower. It had the thinnest golden complexion on its petal edge that highlighted its gorgeous circular blooms.
"A Dahlia flower?"
Mylo reaches down towards the flower, picks it off the ground and observes it with the inspection skill.

Use:
Ingredient for the creation of potions that strongly attracts monsters in the area, only an alchemist of intermediate level or higher can make use of it. The flower can also be used as it is, without using it as ingredient. However, its effect are less potent. It does not have any requirement if used this way.

"I need to find what zone the unknown beast is currently residing in, I can't use the follower randomly in hope of it being in this location."
Mylo stashed away the flower inside his inventory. But by doing so a sudden thought strikes him 'it was to easy!'. Such rare ingredient shouldn't be harvest so easily, in must games high ranked items would be guarded by strong mobs. Then out of the blue, the branches from the tree next to him started shaking intensely until a mysterious figure jumped out of its hiding.
"Shit!"
The figure rushed towards Mylo with high speed and accuracy. Mylo leaps to his right evading the sudden attack.
"What is that? It's HUGE!"
A captivating and enormous green serpent, about the size of an elephant and the length of a whale. Its scales looked similar to a lizard's with Dark-green color. Ferocious vertical slit-shaped pupils, with a darkish yellow exterior. hisses coming out of its mouth, ranging from very low pitched to extremely high pitched noise.

Description: Vakmon is a venomous snake. One is able to distinguish it from others of his species by the shape of its head. A typical venomous snake that uses its venom for defending itself has a triangular-shaped head, but the head shape for a predatorily venomous snake such as Vakmon can easily be distinguished from its crown-shaped scale coming out of the top of its nose. The Vakmon uses its special glands and teeth designed to inject venom into its prey. His venom has two functionality, the first is to paralyze its prey, making it unable to move for a short duration. The second is to inject deadly poison slowly killing its prey in case it escapes. The Vakmon Viper favorite hunting method is to use the Sage's Dahlia flower in order to attract preys while it hides its presence. When it sees a prey getting near its hunting parameter, it attacks unannounced.

"Wait…why is it health pool lower than his maximum health? Was it attacked?"
Before Mylo could rationalize the reason for the Vipers deteriorated health, it hisses a high-pitched noise and rushes with incredible speed towards its prey. Opening its enormous mouth, revealing two giant fangs on each corner of its mouth, coated by a green jell like substance.
Mylo side steps to the right, evading the lunged attack. Unsheathing his rapier, slashes after slashes were used after each consecutive lunges from the viper, cutting away as much health as he could.

"What is that defense! I guess those scales aren't just for show."
Vakmon didn't seem the slightest bit phased by the attacks. It hisses toward its prey as to mock his low damage output.

Vakmon then started to curl around itself until he was shaped similarly to a twisted cone. He then started releasing its grip to create a strong spinning momentum. The Viper's gesture triggered Mylo's survival instinct, positioning his rapier in a defensive posture in order to protect his upper body.

What came towards Mylo was a high-speed attack from the viper's long and thick tail. Shocked by what just happened, he was glad that he defended against this outrageous attack. He couldn't even fathom the damage he would have received if he didn't. "Shit! I can't move!"
Unable to move, the viper leaps towards him and uses its fang to bite a good chunk of his prey right shoulder. After doing so, mylo's debuff expired and without wasting any time, he quickly distance himself away from it.

Mylo started to meticulously analyze the viper and strategies a way to deal with it.
"I can't deal enough damage to its body, his scales defensive capacity are too high. I need to find another solution and quick!".
Vakmon started to quickly slither toward him, closer and closer, until it was close enough to lunge itself towards its prey. While it was in the air, Mylo noticed something." None? There isn't any scale in his stomach area". Instead of waiting for the snake to reach him, Mylo swiftly sprints toward its enemy, slides below its floating stomach, his rapier raised up with a firm grip . Slashing its stomach from head to tail. A mix of Green and Red liquid started pouring out of its body. Hisses of agony resounded all over the forest, making the smaller animals run in fear.
"Not smiling now I see."

Mylo dealt a total of 1,365 damage to the viper. Lowering the viper health to 1,835/4000.
"Not so happy that a puny little human dealt so much damage , huh?"
"HISSSSSS!"
The viper started to curl itself once again, but Mylo already anticipated the vipers next move. When the viper was in the beginning stages of this attack, it couldn't move from its spot for four seconds in order to fully prepare the strike.
"Did you really think I wouldn't do anything? The first time was surprising but not anymore!"
Mylo sprinted towards the viper and jumped right on top of its head. Holding his rapier in one hand and his body fully stationary . He lunges his rapier downwards, piercing the viper's right eye. Green liquid splashing in every direction, intense high-pitched hisses coming out the Vipers mouth."HISSSSSSSSSSSSSS!"

Mylo read somewhere in his younger years, in his past life, that the venom gland of a viper is an altered salivary gland, and is located just behind the eye. Depending on the size of the snake the gland it posses would most likely be as big as its eye. Since the Vakmon was almost as big as an elephant it was easy to not miss it.

Mylo didn't waste time and used his advantage in earnest. Hitting the snake's body continuously for six seconds. Until he heard his favorite message.
