Arc 3.12 Xiao Yao
"So, what's your name?"
Ever since the strange man woke up, Xiao Yao found out that he was really cold.
The man never smiles and would only look at them with an indifferent face.
"Xu Xin."
But one thing is for sure, the strange man or now known as Xu Xin would only answer Xiao Yao's questions and ignore the others.
"Xu Xin? Good name. Can I call you Xin?"
Xu Xin looked at Xiao Yao with an almost lazy face that does not want to deal with him but he still nodded in agreement.
If not for Xiao Yao risking his life to save him, Xu Xin who had an eccentric personality would not bother talking to him and would have long escape.
When he was in a coma, even though he could not see a thing, he could hear what was happening outside.
He could hear how Xiao Yao saved him and defended him from the people around them.
What touched him the most is that Xiao Yao even risked his life to carry him while running away from a bunch of snakes.
Xu Xin knew how much he weighed, even he could not run for almost an hour while carrying a grown man with him.
But Xiao Yao gritted his teeth and held him tight in his arms afraid to drop him down.
He did not care what his teammates say and continued to carry him in his arms to safety.
He really doesn't know what to say about the stupid man.
He is so silly to risk his own life for a stranger.
But that silliness of him got the mysterious person of the story's trust.
From now on, Xiao Yao will be the only person Xu Xin will help.
Instead of the protagonist having the mysterious person's help in achieving fame in tomb raiding because of his help along the way in every raid, Xiao Yao will have the honor instead of helping the mysterious person.
Xiao Yao did not know but he just got the strongest golden finger of the story.
The mysterious person is no ordinary cheat but a very golden one.
Having him beside him, he could very well as much become the tomb-raiding king in their trade.
Xu Xin is no ordinary tomb raider but a mysterious one.
His identity is special and there is more to him that meets the eye.
And his identity.... would be revealed in the next few chapters!
"Then, Xin it is! Here, Xin, you have been asleep for a long time so you must be hungry. Eat."
Xiao Yao offered Xu Xin a bottle of water and a lunch box filled with sandwiches.
Wait!
Where did he get sandwiches from?
Even if he brought it with him, it would have long gone bad!

As Xu Xin was about to reach out his hand on the lunch box, he suddenly took back his hand, in the spot where his hand was used to be appeared a small delicate hand.
"Xiao Yao, have you gone crazy?! You're giving your food to a stranger? You know we are already out of food yet you did not even share with us! But this stranger who came out of nowhere, you're giving him "our" food!" Leng MianMian scolded like the little miss that she is.
Fei Chen who saw what was happening felt embarrassed in Leng MianMian's stead and tried to pull her away from them but she won't budge an inch which only made it more awkward for him.
Chen Qiao who was watching the play that Leng MianMian had bothered performing felt that it was funny.
How in the world did Xiao Yao's business become theirs, hers?
No matter how stupid and selfish Leng MianMian could be, Chen Qiao never thought that the extent could be this long.
"Leng MianMian, when did my business become yours?"
"You!"
Xiao Yao almost became speechless concerning the female lead's high-level thick-facedness and selfishness.
He almost rolled his eyes but decided not to, talking to her is really a waste of time.
"You, stop interfering with my business and mind your own. Leng MianMian, I'm not like those no-brainer idiots you keep around you. You.."
Saying this, Xiao Yao stood up and looked at Leng MianMian up and down like he was looking down on her. He was disgusted just by the sight of her.
He laughed in an irritating way and stab her chest with his finger painfully, thrice, while he threateningly advances while she retreated.
"....are not my type at all."
Sound of cheers and boos could be heard from the idiotic bandits after Xiao Yao declared his words.
Though they might look like they were not listening, they were really perking up all of their ears to listen.
Xiao Yao mockingly smiled before turning back and sitting opposite from Xu Xin.
He threw the lunch box and bottled water to him which he caught with both of his hands easily.
"Eat. You've been asleep for so long. You need energy for the journey."
"What about you?" Xu Xin said after being silent for a while.
He looked at the bottled water and lunch box with dazed eyes.
"I'm still full. You eat. You look so skinny. I'm afraid that you'll be blown by the wind with that figure of yours. You need to gain weight."
Xu Xin's eyebrows creased being called skinny.
If a man with a perfect body built like him would be called skinny then real skinny people should be called a skeleton?
"Eat."
Xiao Yao smiled gesturing for him to start eating.
Xu Xin looked at the lunch box in his hand for a long time before he opened the lid and ate the sandwiches one by one without feeling conflicted.
"Shameless." Leng MianMian said in a whisper while gritting her teeth in jealousy.
"MianMian, why do you need to bother Xiao Yao? Though we don't have that much food, we won't starve until we get out of here." Fei Chen said almost helpless about her attitude.
"Brother Fei, how can he choose to side with an outsider than us? Look! He is sharing the good food with a stranger while we eat this rotten thing!"
Leng MianMian threw the compressed biscuits in her hand to the ground in anger, this left Fei Chen helpless but still again give way to her.
He loves her too much, alright?
Fei Chen picked up the pack of opened compressed biscuits on the ground and put it back in his bag.
He knew how precious food is inside this forsaken place, he could not waste even a little.
Seeing Fei Chen pick up the food she threw away, Leng MianMian could not help but think how the once upstanding young man resemble a loser now.
"Brother Fei, it's dirty!"
"MianMian, food is scarce right now. We can't waste food." Fei Chen sighed.
"B-But it's already dirty, filled with sand, and who knows how many bacterias! Brother Fei, will you eat it?" Leng MianMian exaggeratedly said while having a face filled with disgust.
"......sigh."
Fei Chen could only sigh in answer not having the energy to explain to her anymore.
Anyway, she won't listen to him.
All the words he said to her go in the other ear and goes out the other, it had always been this way since they were young.
He had already been used to it.
But not because he had already been used to it that he won't feel tired.
Somehow, he felt tired.
No. He is tired.
Ever since they went into that underground cave trying to search for that Lost City, Leng MianMian's temper had been flaring almost exploding.
He had to take care of her at the same time trying his best to keep her temper in check, so much had been in his shoulder. He is already at his breaking point.
Fei Chen almost looked like a deflated balloon with dark clouds hanging on his head and a banshee on his face.
Xiao Yao somehow pity the man knowing that he did not choose to have a burden of a female lead that was paired to him by the heavens, tying them to be a couple forever.
"What a painful end. If I were him, I would rather die than live with that crazy woman."
