New coworkers. Part 1

Luan finishes the disguise spell on his new pet, now he looks like a regular pit bull, only a little more robust, he returns to his father's house, it's already past 9pm, he needs to rest so he can go to DSO first thing in the morning, Luan and Derick will be introduced to their teammates, and their tormentors who will always be on a mission with them, First of all, to detect a possible invasion by an escaped demon, he leaves water and food for his new pet, but he hasn't yet decided what to name it, his new pet doesn't seem interested in food, he'll have to research what kind of food is for a demon guard dog. 

He feels a little tired, his visit to his portal and to the portal of the Southern District, drains some of his magic and energy, he falls asleep soon in the company of his inseparable cat Mr. Fluffy, soon it's dawn and he wakes up startled, with his cell phone ringing, it's Derick calling: 

"Are you still asleep? Did you forget your appointment earlier today?" 

Luan answers his cell phone, but still looks sleepy and says: 

"Yamn, I'm on my way down..." 

30 minutes pass, Luan takes a shower, changes his clothes, dries his hair with the hairdryer. When he turns off the hairdryer, he's startled, he looks in the bathroom mirror and someone is standing behind him: 

"Ahh, what a fright Derick..." 

Derick looks at him with an unfriendly face and sighs: 

"Pfft, it's been 30 minutes, and we're late Luan!" 

Luan then looks at his watch and yes they are late, it was supposed to be 8 am at DSO, it's already 8:30 am, he gives a yellow smile and disguises it: 

"Oops, I got the time wrong hehe" 

His phone buzzes with a voice message, and his supervisor asks where they are, as they are already late, Luan replies quickly by sending a voice message: 

"Good morning, sorry we had an unforeseen event, we'll be right there." 

Luan plays with his cat, then checks on his new pet, he seems to be near the pool, together with his father's dog, they seem to be getting on well for the first day, he's just a little apprehensive about his cat, but he doesn't have much time to think, he sets the coordinate on the clock and opens the portal to DSO, thus dispensing with Derick's car, time stops and they enter the portal, and exit inside the entrance hall at DSO, they have to validate their entries with their badges, they greet some employees and go to the meeting room, where their supervisor is already waiting for them, together with their new teammates, the two enter and greet each other: 

"Good morning, Supervisor, I'm sorry we had something to do." 

Luan fixes his hair, he doesn't like to look bad, Derick rolls his eyes and thinks: 

 (Pfft, the guy who can control time is late, his face doesn't even twitch when I lie). 

Finally, the Supervisor asks them both to sit down, and introduces his two new companions: 

"All right, unforeseen events happen, Luan and Derick, I want you to meet your teammates, your two main tormentors, Collen and Cayden." 

Collen is a handsome, smiling boy with platinum hair. He extends his hand to Luan and smiles: 

"Hello, kids, we've finally met." 

Luan and Derick have seen him before, on the day of the Camp, he is the brother of their schoolmate Charlie, Luan and Derick greet him back by extending their hand and shaking it: 

"Sorry I'm late, it's nice to meet you, please bear with these two newbies." 

Collen smiles, he doesn't seem upset about waiting, he looks at Cayden he's wearing his black hoodie, he just waves his hand, but it's noticeable to see a part of his face that isn't covered, he's smiling, they seem to be two nice guys, very friendly. 

The supervisor opens his briefcase which contains some envelopes that look like invitations, he gives them to Luan, Derick, Collen and Caydan, they are invitations to the Descendants' Ball, a masquerade ball that takes place months after the Awakening Test, which will take place in 20 days' time, he takes the opportunity to explain the main dance of the evening, each person will be able to take a partner, Luan and Derick and the other young descendants invited, will have to do the compulsory practice of the main dance, already scheduled for the next few days, Luan doesn't seem very excited especially after he found out that his partner had been chosen by someone, nor does Derick seem very excited, but participation is compulsory, Collen seems very excited, so he says: 

"The big descendants' ball has finally arrived, the children are starting to discover new things, from it." 

Collen looks at Cayden, who gives him a somewhat amused and mischievous smile. Luan looks at them both confused, but he can't figure out what they really mean, so he thinks to himself: 

(What did they mean, "discover new things", was it supposed to be just a dance, or must there be more to it than that?) 

Suddenly the room's alarm lights up red, and starts ringing, the supervisor wanted them to go for a training session right after the meeting, but it looks like there won't be any more time for today, Central notifies that a "demonic invasion" has been detected, and that the executioners need to go and check the location and perimeter of where it is, Collen and Cayden get up quickly, they zip up their black leather jackets and adjust their hoods, they signal to the supervisor that they are leaving: 

"We're on our way, kids your training today will be in practice, I'll send you the coordinates!" 

They quickly make their way to Cayden's all-black motorcycle, which is parked right at the entrance to the DSO. They use some state-of-the-art technological equipment, which helps in the search: a tablet that Cayden keeps with him and a point they use in their ears to communicate, they put on their helmets, and notice that at first the signal seems to be coming from near a cemetery.
