Scarecrow of 1889

There once was a boy who was an orphan and suffered abuse from his village residents. The only friend he had was the dummy scarecrow on the field, whom he talked to. One day, a wealthy man brutally beat the boy. The next morning, the wealthy man was found dead, and the scarecrow was covered in blood.  Terrified, the villagers were convinced that the scarecrow had come to life to avenge its tormented friend. And it was the last scarecrow ever placed again in the fields, considering it a sign of death.  —   After scarecrow dolls begin appearing in the streets of Riddleford next to murder victims, the town is thrown into chaos. When the hunt for the mystery scarecrow murderer begins, it is only a matter of time before the famous Frontier Hall Opera House employees are subjected to suspicion, each protecting a secret of their own. But is that all that is going on? Or is there something unseen?

Finding the killer

In the morning, when Jane arrived at her office, she was greeted by Addison, who quickly waved a newspaper at her and asked,

"Lady Jane, have you seen the news about the mayor??"

Jane replied as she entered, "I did."

"It is quite shocking that he would take his own life," Addison said in a tone of disbelief. "His wife said he couldn't have killed himself, but there were no signs of breaking in and when they found his body in his study, his hand was on the dagger, which he killed himself with. And…"

Addison's voice trailed when he noticed two men enter the office. He asked, "Who are you?" He then turned to Jane and asked, "Who are they?"

"Gruger and the inspector want to protect me," Jane replied, walking to her office room. When she came near the door, she turned around and spoke to the men, "You can be seated out here at these desks." Seeing the men nod, she entered her room and was followed by Addison.
