CHAPTER 34: THE BABY IS COMING

After Zari surprised visit and dinner that night. Meeting with Vince Leo her husband to be. Of course, Colton was there too joining us. I was having fun and my life was less complicated now.

I called my mom and Dad and told them my situation, the things they needed to know. I never left any more secrets to them too. They understood my situation and proud of me for not aborting the baby inside even I am not yet married.

It was my due date and I am waiting anytime. Colton wants me to stop working, taking a leave but I did not agree because I do not want to stay at home doing nothing. No one in the company knows about us because I told him to keep it secret between us.

He was always very attentive and caring more on us. We did go for our last check up last month. She advised me to have the ultrasound. I did my ultrasound to know the gender and to check the position of the baby. But I told my doctor in one condition. That is, not to tell me including Colton about the gender reveal. I want it to be surprise for both of us on the due time.

Colton respected my decision. After the results came in, my doctor was happy to tell us that everything was good. We do not have to worry about it.

Tonight, we were going to his parent's manor. Colton told them about me already. They want us to have dinner with them.

I am nervous, scared at the same time. This is my first to meet his side. Meeting his parents, thinking that I might not welcome in his family.

Wait! What am I thinking? Colton and I never talk about us. I mean, relationship status. Why am I thinking of those? Shaking my head as we reached at the place only, I see on tv.

"Oh my gosh! That's your parents' house." I blurted out. "That's like a castle." Colton chuckled. Well, not really a castle, castle but my gosh, it was like an old historical mansion for like hundred years already.

""Actually, it was my great-great-great grandparents' era." He told me. "We already modernized some part of it but maintain the structure which is still stronger until now."

"Wow!" I said in amazed.

We get in and saw an elegant woman and handsome man walking towards us. They were smiling at us.

"Oh dear, you are so beautiful even pregnant." She said as she cupped my face gently. "You must be Shana." She said and I smiled. "I'm Carlotta, Colton's mother and this is my husband Carlos."

"Nice meeting you Mr. & Mrs. Torres." I replied.

"Do not be too formal, Shana. We are family now." Mr. Torres said tapping my shoulder.

"Yes, you start calling me Mom and him Dad, okay." I glanced at Colton as my eyes widen. He nodded to me as approval. "Come, the dinner is ready and I cannot wait to know you more." Mrs. Torres holding my hands as she led the way.

It was another memorable dinner night in my life. Everything was great. I did not expect it to be and I am happy with the outcome after that night.

I am still in my office working on payrolls when my cellphone rings. "Hello!" I answered, as I did not look at the screen.

"Are you still in your office?" It was George on the other line.

"Hi, beshie. I miss you." I said without answering her question. I was in the middle of fixing things already because I could feel something weird in my body. It has been five minutes interval as what my doctor told me. Once I feel something unusual, I have to monitor it.

"Are you kidding me Shana Zaria Stewart?" she said in a loud voice. I know once she mentioned my full name, she is not happy with me. "What are you doing there? You know that you are due anytime now."

"I will go home few more minutes." I said with calm voice now. "Besides, I was planning to take a leave starting tomorrow. Are you happy now?" I said in a sweet voice so that she will not argue too long.

"Well, okay, I am glad you do that because I am worried and excited, you know." She said and I laughed. "Is Colton still in the office?" she asked.

"Yes, we always go home together and…" I did not finish my sentence when I feel something flowing in my legs. "Beshie, I think my water breaks… aaah!"

"Whaat? Wait I will call Colton. Hold on." I still heard her calling Colton using landline. She turned on her speakerphone so that George can hear me. "Hey, go now to Shana. She needs you now. I think the baby is coming."

It did not take long the call and she came back to me. "Hello, beshie hold on a minute he will be there right away."

"Umm…" I said because I could feel my stomach is hurting. It never took too long I saw Colton already in my office. Actually, behind me.

"Huh! How did you get here so fast?" I did not hear him reply my question but him questioning me.

"Are you in pain?" I nodded.

Eddy rushing towards us left my door open. Colton carried me in a bridal style while Eddy grabbed my things.

"Eddy, hurry up." Colton said as Eddy run towards the elevator. They left it opened so that they can take me to the hospital right away.

I could really feel the pain and it was not just an ordinary one. It was not that easy feeling what I felt right now. Mothers understands what I mean when it comes to like this.

I did not notice we already arrived in front of the hospital and I could hear my doctor talking to me. They put me in the Gurney and pushed me towards the delivery room.

I got nervous, scared, excited and all some mixed emotions right now knowing that I could see my little angel in a few hours.

They changed my clothes into a hospital gown. Colton was there too wearing the same as me. My doctor told me that he can be with me when I'm in labor.

I am glad to have him with me because I cannot do it alone.
