“Yeah, well, my living arrangements aren’t exactly fit for a ten-year-old.”

“You live with people?” Liam took a sip of his cold coffee. “Roommates?”

“One of them is my ex-boyfriend. It’s not working out.”

Liam cleared his throat, hoping Kieran hadn’t caught the sudden blush in his cheek. His blood pressure had gone up.

Great. An ex-boyfriend still sticking around.

“So, you and your ex-boyfriend live together?”

Kieran put his hand on Liam’s knee. “But not for long. Please don’t even worry about that part. Trent and me—it’s so finished.”

“It’s all right…I don’t own you.” Liam wished he could see what this Trent guy looked like.

“Can we go to bed, Liam?”

“Right now?”

Kieran pressed his mouth to Liam’s ear. “Yeah, right now,” he whispered, his warm breath heating Liam’s earlobe. “‘Cause tonight, you can own me all you like.”

In bed, they lay close together and Kieran’s heart beat steadily against Liam’s chest.
