Chapter 5

All the knights positioned themselves as soon as the four huge one-eyed monsters reached them. They have human limbs and other human features except they only have one big eye in the center of their faces and green-colored skin. According to the book, they were called Crons. The weakness of the Crons is its eyes and neck.

This is the first time Luna saw them in person. They are huge and as tall as trees. They have round bulky bodies.

"Stay here," Grey whispered in a serious voice before dismounting the horse. He took out his sword and then walked toward the front with Sebastian.

Once the monsters spotted the knights they all started to attack like crazy. Grey and Sebastian are very strong as they can make the monster step back on every attack. They were also able to injure the monster with every slice of their swords. However, the other knights were struggling to fight the monsters.

When one of the monsters sway its arms in full force, 3 of the knights flew away and two of them were injured fatally. Then she saw the monster lift its feet to step onto Collen who is struggling to move because of his injury. Earlier this morning, the nights introduced themselves to her. Collen is a young knight with an adorable face but quite shy. He just smiled timidly as he introduced himself to her.

Without any thought, Luna ran towards him and pulled him, seconds before he was crushed under its feet. The monster saw this and tried to step on them the second time when Grey suddenly appeared and stopped its feet halfway with an invisible shield.

Grey's ability is a shield. The shield is a powerful ability that makes him immune to other magical abilities or physical attacks. He is a perfect warrior who can wield a powerful force against his enemies and could also protect himself from their attacks.

"Go!" Grey commanded them.

She did not waste time and dragged the wounded knight to the side. She took off the cloak and prepare her bow and arrow.

"Stay here Collen." She uttered before leaving the young man who was a bit surprised.

Luna whistled loud enough for everyone to hear. She's calling Coco to come to her. Everyone momentarily glances at her who is now standing alone in the middle of the ground, holding her bow and arrow. Her long ponytail brown hair is dancing in the wind. She looks fierce in the painted stripe lines on her face. Her animal clothes embrace her curves and expose her painted thighs and arms. She looked straight at the monster in front of her. Then she jumps high into the air when a massive mystical beast suddenly appears behind her. It catches her just before she falls back like a perfect choreography. She sat on its back and positioned her arrow to its bow to shoot the eye of the monster as the mystical beast ran towards it. She let go of the arrow and reached the center of the eye of the monster. She moves fast and every execution of her action seems calculated.

"Attack the neck!" She shouted for everyone to hear. The knights who were momentarily dazed did as they were told.

Coco rushed towards the monster and bit its neck taking a huge chunk of flesh. Purple blood splatters in the air. Luna jumps out from her mystical beast and lands on the head of the monster which she sliced the neck with her stone dagger in a forceful manner. The fetal wound makes the monster weak and falls to the ground. The rest of the monsters were killed by Grey and the knights.

Luna feels exhilarated after killing one of the monsters. It's the first time she killed something this big. She was only able to deal with low-level monsters who would try to eat her. And without Coco, she would be dead.

"Good job Coco." She said as she patted the head of the huge animal.

When she turned around all of the knights were looking at her and Coco. Grey approached her, he was looking at her intently. His eyes are full of questions and a hint of fascination. Maybe because in front of him is a mystical beast they're looking for.

Grey stopped in front of her. His hands extended towards her. For a second, she thought he would embrace her. She realized Grey just covered her with his cloak. She didn't notice he was holding it.

"Please don't take this off." He said. He sounds a bit like he's scolding me.

Men in this world must be conservative. But she can't move comfortably with a cloak while fighting. She's used to just wearing animal skin she sews herself. She felt like a female Tarzan especially when she was jumping from tree to tree.

Grey's hands landed on her head and patted her gently.

"You did great." He said as he smiled at her. Luna saw Grey smile showing his perfect teeth. He looked like a toothpaste commercial model.

She felt her heartbeat race. Her blood runs up to her face. Good thing her face is painted.

"T-thank you," she responded in an awkward tone trying to conceal her emotion.

Grey gazed at Coco. I read Coco's thoughts. He likes him. Just like Porcha, Coco likes Grey. He wants him to pet him.

"May I ask... Why are you looking for a mystical beast and what are you going to do with it?" I asked.

"Are you worried about it?" Grey asked.

l nodded.

"I'll be honest, I need the mystical beast to help to fight in the coming war. The enemies have mystical beasts and we couldn't win without one." He answered without hesitation.

Mystical beasts are creatures that assist humans to fight monsters and evil in the world. I read this in the book.

"Is the war can't be avoided?" I asked.

"Unfortunately no. If we won't fight back, the barbarians will invade our territories, kill our citizens and ransack and destroy our houses."

Then he was doing this to protect their people.

"The story I told you earlier about the pregnant mystical beast. Coco is her cub. I took him after his mother died. I lied about him because I still don't know your intention."

"I understand. Are you worried that we will take him?" Grey asked.

l nodded. The moment she saw Porcha land in his arms, she felt he was a good person yet she did not want to take the risk of exposing Coco.

"I won't do that, especially from someone who saves me and my knights."

I felt relaxed. I felt l could fully trust him now. I will help him find a mystical beast of his own.

Coco transforms into its original form. Grey looked bewildered when he saw a small white animal that is only a little bigger than his pest.

I introduced Coco to Grey and the other knights. The knights love him and petted him. Coco loves the attention but he especially likes Grey.

The healer treated the injured and Collen approached me to thank me for saving his life. He was even blushing while speaking to me.

"Thank you so much, Miss Luna. I will repay your kindness. Please don't hesitate to call me if you need anything. I will be at your service." Collen said.

"You don't have to," I answered.

"No! I will serve you Miss Luna as long as I'm alive! Without your help, I wouldn't be here standing alive so I will dedicate my life to you!"

I laughed awkwardly. That sounds extreme to me.

"Okay.. thank you, Collen." I just answered.

"And I want to tell you that..."

"That...?" I asked waiting for him to continue what he was going to say.

"Collen, come here!" Another knight called him so he apologized and left.

Once Collen is gone I look around to see Grey. He's commanding the other knights to prepare to leave. We will continue our journey.

Sebastian pop up behind me and patted me.

"You are so awesome Luna! Thank you for helping us." He said with a grin on his face.

I smiled back at him.

"Sebastian, do you have a map of this place right?"

"Yes, why do you ask?"

"Is there a chance we can pass by a water stream? I would like to wash." I said.

"Yes! We will spend the night near a stream tonight."

"Great!" I said enthusiastically.

I can finally wash the paint and dirt on my body.
