Three Years

" Good, because otherwise I'd just blow up your castle "

Shu said as he stared at the Demon who seemed to be made out to shadows, the only thing that looked physical were his horns

" Why are you attacking me so suddenly? "

The demon questioned, his voice echoing and deeply in Shu's ears

" Why? Is that supposed to be a question? My son just got a vision of you murdering my daughter; at first I was planning to go through the motions of war, but I'd rather eradicate half the planet and you along with your subordinates, before you could lay a hand on my daughter "

Shu said, talking fast and with anger in his tone, and when he finished his sentence a small horn grew from his forehead, to the demon's surprise

" You're a hybrid "

The demon said in complete surprise as Shu simply stared at him

" I guess it's true what they say, full fledged demons can't sense the energy of hybrid demons "

The demon added as it would then stretch out its arm made of shadows, in an attempt to grab onto Shu's shoulder, but the man simply took a step back, confusing the demon

" What's wrong? "

The demon questioned

" Are you deaf? I can hear to kill you, why would I want to be grabbed by the person I came to murder? "

Shu replied, which made the demon smile, revealing its pointy teeth, only to start chuckling a second later

" Heh, hahahahahaaha!!! I see, I see! So you know nothing about your demon blood "

The demon said, with a playful yet terrifying voice, after all his voice seemed to be glitching and echoing all over the place

" If you want, I could explain— "

The demon couldn't finish his sentence as Shu had hurled a punch at his face, successfully landing it, only to cause a gigantic crater and a huge burst of air, creating a cloud of dirt.

Once the cloud of dirt dispersed, it could be seen by anyone watching that the demon didn't move an inch

" Oh. I see, the demon inside you just communicated with me "

The demon said as he would then grab onto Shu's wrist, tightly squeezing it whilst a smirk grew on its face

" It said that it was stuck inside of you and that it couldn't get out "

" So what? "

Shu questioned before pulling his hand away, flicking his wrist a few times, it seemed the demon squeezed hard enough to break it, of course it only took a few seconds to heal, but still the fact that this demon could injure him, meant that he was strong

" Then the myth about hybrids having multiple personalities and souls is true, the more you know "

The demon then took a few steps back, proceeding to turn away from Shu, starting to walk back toward his castle, taking slow and quiet steps

" Where are you going? Do you also have short term memory loss, because if I remember correctly, I said I came here to kill you "

Shu said, glaring at the demon's back with his emotionless blue eyes, filling himself up with anger and more anger every time the demon took a step

" You can't kill me "

The demon said, his voice spreading like a magic spell across the field, making Shu drop down to a knee, feeling an immense pressure on his back.

The demon then turned to face Shu, his eyes now visible, which seemed to be made of fire, matching perfectly with his shadowy body

" You know what, since you're a demon, and I favorite demons, I'll give you three years, three years to get stronger and come back to fight me, because I guarantee, right now, with your shattered and separate soul, you won't be able to win "

The demon said as he would then turn to Shu completely, walking toward him with slow and steady steps

" Oh, and I'll give you a tip, the essence of life for a demon is anger, so every time you get angry or feel irritated or feel annoyed, just know that all of it fuels the other half of your soul, making it stronger "

The demon said as it would then pet Shu's head, who only glared up at him, using all of his physical strength to stand up, which he did, facing the much taller demon

" I don't need three years, I just need enough motivation "

Shu replied, which made the demon laugh, opening his mouth out to the air as his laughs continued to echo around the battlefield Shu had created.

Soon after the demon would calm down and raise his index finger up, staring down at Shu with a calm expression

" One. A one percent chance, that's all you have "

" Huh? "

Shu thought as the demon simply smiled, continuing to talk

" You only have a one percent chance of beating me in a fight, so if I were you, I'd take those three years and train endlessly to beat me "

The demon said, taking a few steps back only to start levitating bringing his feet off of the ground whilst moving backwards a bit

" I'll wait here for you, oh and if it's your daughter's death your worried about, I swear on my demon's soul that I won't attack your family "

The demon said as all of a sudden a bright white glow came from the left side of his chest

" See this glow here? As I demon when I make a pledge I can't take it back nor break it, otherwise my sanctuary core will blow up, and i'll die along with it "

The demon explained, smiling a little only to raise his index finger at Shu, disappearing in a blur of speed seconds later, leaving the place and in turn the pressure Shu was feeling disappeared as well

" Three years… "

Shu said to himself, he knew too well how strong the demon inside that castle was, he could probably kill all of the subordinates he had but not him, and it was true what he said, he could feel it, he had only one percent.

" Alright "

Shu took in a deep breath and disappeared in a blur of speed, leaving behind a quiet battlefield, and a happy demon.
