Confusion

"Brother! Let's run!!"

A boy of presumably 8 years, screamed, as what seemed to be his older brother stood in front of him.

The elder one's skin was dark, his eyes were blue and his hair, which was pitch black, was tied in a small ponytail

"I can't run Ean, not while I have to worry about you, all I can do is save you time to run. So get out of here!"

The big brother yelled as he clutched his hands, forming tight fists as he clenched his teeth while staring at a woman with short black hair, her eyes were lavender violet and her skin was pale, in contrast with the elder brother

"Hey lady, what do you say? Would you let my little brother run?"

The older brother questioned as the woman simply smiled, with a slight hint of sadness in her expression

"Of course, I'd do anything for someone with a kind soul, such as yours"

The woman replied as the older brother smiled, chuckling with a hint of pain in his throat while holding onto his stomach as if someone had pierced him with a trident

"Then would you let me go too?"

The boy questioned as the woman simply shook her head in denial, biting her lower lip slightly

"You're too strong my dear boy, I can not let you live. A prodigy such as yourself would be too much of a danger for our small Sukeki Village"

"Is that so?"

"Yes, it is very much so"

"Then could you give me a second?"

"Yes"

And just like that, their small civil conversation ended, while the boy turned around to look at Ean, who was standing there, completely shut

"Sorry brother, I guess I won't be able to teach you how to fight"

"What? But you said you were the strongest, you said you would rule the Elsian Kingdom and make it better, you said you'd make me strong!! So let's run, pleas-"

Ean yelled while tears fell down his eyes, but before he could finish his sentence, he was hit in the back of his neck, which would slowly strip away his consciousness.

And just like that, Ean would open up his eyes, finding himself in what seemed to be a cave, his body was covered in yet more bandages than they were when he killed the chimera

"You finally woke up, Ean Lianert"

A familiar voice said as Ean felt a hand press against his chest, pushing him back, and in an attempt to lay him on the ground in which he was sitting on

"Ori?"

"What"

"Why'd you spare me?"

"I don't know, you tell me, why'd you spare us?"

"Hmm. Well, I was hesitant I guess. Maybe because I haven't killed anyone before"

"Yet, you stripped my sisters' limbs off"

"I had to"

"No, you didn't"

Ori replied, making Ean sigh as he placed his right hand behind his head

"Well, the truth is, I tried to simply immobilize them but, at the last minute, I realized that I couldn't hold back so, I had no choice but to cut their limbs off, or else they would have died"

Ean explained as he looked down at his injured body

"I understand"

"Yeah—I'm sorry"

"It's fine, I would have done the same thing"

"Wait what, you aren't gonna yell at me and tell me that I could have done better?"

"No, I know how that feels all too well, so I wouldn't blame you for a mistake like that, besides, I know someone who can recover their limbs anyway"

Ori replied while pressing a rock against a wooden jar filled with herbs

"Oh, I see. Sorry anyway"

"As I said, it's fine"

Ori whispered, as he slowly pulled the rock away from the jar, placing it on a side as he would then rub both his index finger and middle finger against the smushed herbs

"Are you sure? I mean, I took your sisters' limbs off, and acted all cold right after"

"Yeah I'm sure"

Ori answered as he pressed his fingers against one of Ean's injuries which were found on his stomach, surrounding it with the herbs, to later cover it up with bandages

"What type of herbs are those, I mean, whatever they are, they're pretty amazing, I'm not feeling any pain whatsoever!"

Ean yelled as he stood up from the ground, finding himself half-naked with his abdomen and chest out, but he could care less, he was feeling too excited to care

"Calm yourself. They're just simple herbs, increased with Sanctuary Energy, the effects are temporary, they'll wear off in a few hours"

Ori explained while grabbing the rock once again, pressing it against the jar to mix the herbs even more

"That's plenty of time! The mini-game doesn't last very long either!"

"I guess you're right. Well anyway, here take this"

Ori replied while grabbing the mixed herbs, pressing them together with both of his hands, making a small ball out of the herbs

"What is this for?"

Ean questioned as he grabbed the small ball of herbs

"It's a drug—pain killers"

"Oh, thanks"

Ean whispered, before opening his mouth, throwing the compressed herbs into his mouth, quickly swallowing it. But the moment it reached his throat, a great amount of pain enveloped his body, mainly his muscles

"Oh crap, I forgot. I added Sanctuary Energy—Ean spit it out! a human can't digest another person's sanctuary energy, it's harmful to their core, spit it out now!"

Ori ordered, while walking over to Ean, standing behind him before hitting his back, in an attempt to make him spit out the herbs

"Sorry—it's too late, I kind of already swallowed it-"

Ean whispered, with difficulty, before his pupils rolled back, and his consciousness vanished, falling hard against the ground

"Ean!—Ean!!. Come on, wake up!"

Ori screamed, while grabbing Ean by his shoulders, shaking him back and forth in an attempt to wake him up

"Wait, what am I even doing. I shouldn't be acting like an idiot"

Ori said to himself, before backing away from Ean, running toward a bag, quickly opening it, proceeding to take out a small wooden box, opening that box

"Oh great, it's still here"

He whispered as he grabbed a syringe, along with a small crystal bottle which had a rubber topping on it.

"Sorry Ean, but I'll have to seal your Energy veins for half an hour, it's the only way to keep my Sanctuary Energy from flowing into your core"

Ori explained, before sinking the tip of the syringe into the rubber top of the bottle, pulling out a transparent liquid from it, proceeding to inject that liquid into Ean's left shoulder, and as soon as he did, Ean would calm down, resting his muscles as he began to sleep

"Huff—that should fix it"

Ori said to himself as he fell down next to Ean, sighing in relief while slowly closing his eyes.
