Byakko's Trial (Chapter 16) Part one

A soldier rushed into the main office of the Palace there sat a stressed Emperor Kenmei writing letters in a swift motion. The Emperor didn't even look up to see what was going on. Before the solider could speak the emperor said something in annoyance.

"Why do you disturb me at such a busy time SOLIDER" The emperor explained in a stern voice not looking up at all.

The solider hesitated and moved towards the emperor's desk not saying a word but holding out a small paper he bowed swiftly and shouted.

"YOUR MAJESTY I have come to present you with a message from Commander Benkei" The emperor sighed and snatched the note in annoyance.

As he read the Emperor's eyes widened in shock a shiver flew down his spin nobody had seen the Emperor like this he was always the one to keep cool and composed but this was different it was like this time he was actually scared.

Emperor Kenmei stood up swiftly slamming the table in anger "I want every soldier out on the streets of Avalon no one is to leave their homes for anything, also send messengers to inform the surrounding villages The Western Region will not fall TO THE DARKNESS"

Meanwhile in the Aki forest Third section Hissori and The Yamauba sat whispering to each other as the fox who had just been transformed back into a women lay unconscious under the cloth.

"How did you turn her back into a human?" Hissori asked the old lady "I altered her hex (it means a curse) I can't remove it, but I can change it she should be able to switch between fox and human now gegegegege" The Yamauba laughed while steadily getting up she looked at the fox women and turned to Hissori. "You might not know it, but you will one day need each other more than ever so keep her by your side" The old lady smiled with compassion.

Hissori looked to the sky he didn't want to ask but his curiosity broke him "how did an old lady like you get in this forest" Hissori glanced over to the side. The Yamauba slapped him hard across the face in annoyance "I'll have you know that I'm not that old".

The Yamauba walked over to the fox women and shook her head "well let's get going your gonna have to carry her" The old lady smiled Hissori sighed and walked towards the fox women "why don't you carry her…" Hissori blurted out rubbing his check. "I can't I'm too old gegegegege" The old lady laughed and walked away from the fox women, Hissori sighed and picks her up gently.

Hissori started to walk through the third section. "HEYYY where are you going!" The old lady shouted towards Hissori. Hissori turned around with the Fox women still on his back unconscious there he saw a wooden door and next to it was The Yamauba with a wide toothless smile on her face and her eyes turning from brown to bright green.

Hissori walked over and looked at the old lady "what's up with yours eyes" Hissori pointed at them "You ask to many questions NOW GO and don't forget our deal boy!" The old lady opened the wooden door and pushed Hissori and the fox women in.

In an instant Hissori and the fox women were in the last section of the forest entrance It was a vast place with lightly coloured trees and amazing scenery. "wait what do I…" Hissori sighed and put the fox women down "wait here I'll come back once I get the weapon" Hissori said even though he knew she wouldn't hear him as she was unconscious.

Hissori sighed and walked through the entrance it didn't take long before Hissori actually looked confused There in the centre of the last section was a rock and on that rock was a helmet a dark coloured helmet to be specific looking old and rusty.

Hissori could barely make out what it looked like when the wind blew wild suddenly pushing Hissori back in his tracks the more he moved forward towards the rock the more he was pushed back by the wind.

"ITS NOT THAT EASY BOY!" A deep violent voice roared through the Last section. Hissori wasn't fazed by some random voice and kept walking. "HEY, I SAID ITS NOT THAT EASY!"

The voice came again violent but lighter and normal pitched like that of a teenager. "I don't care I didn't come here for you…" Hissori said in annoyance. The violent wind stopped to become a light breeze. "WAIT WHAT… YOU DIDN'T COME FOR ME?..." The voice came again hitting Hissori's face. "WAIT SO YOU WERENT SENT FROM THE WEST REGION TO DO BYAKKO THE KING OF BEASTS TRAIL FOR THE LEGENDARY WEAPON"

"I never said I wasn't, you aren't a furious white tiger though although you might be able to help me, can you tell me where The king of mythical beasts is" Hissori glanced at the helmet it was rusty and barely there anymore. Hissori picked up what was left of it and sighed "What the hell is this I didn't come all this way for rusty metal" Hissori proclaimed in annoyance.

"YOU THINK ITS THAT EASY YOU STILL HAVENT DONE THE TRIAL" The voice got deeper and more serious echoing in Hissori's ears. Hissori put the helmet back and stood still waiting for what was going to happen next.

The wind suddenly came back but this time not targeting Hissori. In one powerful blast all the wind was sucked into the Japanese war helmet restoring it in the process.

When done it was a shined spotless helmet with the crest of Byakko the white tiger on the front. The helmet started to shake for a second then... "PUT ON THE HELMET IF MY SEI IS STRONGER THAN YOURS YOU WILL PERISH INTO DUST WHERE YOU STAND HOWEVER, IF YOU MANAGE TO SURVIVE AND YOUR SEI IS STRONGER THAN MINE YOU WILL BE FREE TO TAKE THE WEAPON" The voice said in a stern way of command almost like it was playing with Hissori.

Hissori thought to himself that the voice must be Byakko and that the trial was rigged to always be in Byakko's favour no one could survive because no one had more Sei than The King of Beasts.

Hissori sighed "lets get this over with…" Hissori picked up the helmet already feeling his hands go numb from the immense amount of Sei oozing out of the helmet.

Hissori put the helmet on instantly and closed his eyes. His legs trembled almost like the Sei of Byakko was pushing him down. Everything in his body felt heavy so heavy that it caused a wide crater to form in the forest ground underneath Hissori.

All Hissori saw was darkness it was pitch black when his eyes were closed until something appeared in his head it was bright all around even do his eyes were closed almost like he was in the sky walking on clouds in the midst of that there lay the great and powerful Byakko, the White tiger, King of all mythical Beasts.

"YOUR STILL ALIVE HUH... YOUR WILL IS STRONG BUT YOUR SEI IS'NT I'M DISAPPOINTED ANOTHER USELESS ONE THAT DIES AT MY FEET" Byakko grinned and walked away on all fours walking away from Hissori while in his head.

Hissori's body felt weak he could tell that this was the moment he was going to die.
