CHAPTER SEVENTEEN

RODRIGO'S POV.

Unsettled, I walked around my bedroom, holding my phone firmly, awaiting the news.

"Antonio, you will pay for this," I whispered, feeling like a fool. I couldn't even guess I was being played.

Sensing my phone vibrating in between my fingers, I promptly picked it up.

"Hi Sir Rodrigo," The voice of the agent sounded at the other end of the phone.

"Did you get that bastard?" I asked the agent immediately, biting my fingers.

"No sir, the police were faster than us. Antonio has been charged with murder and kidnapping, he's in prison as we speak," the agent replied.

"I can't believe he deceived me," I murmured, disgusted.

"There's better news sir. Mrs. Perlah is with me, I'm bringing her home," the agent announced.

As soon as the words hit my hearing, they passed the news to the remaining organs in my body, and relaxation stoned me.

"Okay, hurry," I replied, smiling like I was brought back to life, and then ended the call.

After walking around for what felt like decades, I finally saw Perlah walk through the door.

Happily, I ran towards her, picking her up from the ground. I spun her around with extreme joy.

"Oh God, I missed you," I yelled out, hugging her tightly as she planned on vanishing again.

"I love you so much Perlah," I blurted out, shamelessly pasting on every part of her face.

"Wait, it's the first time you said that," Perlah murmured, giggling.

"I just realized I do; I love you so much. I never want you out of my sight," I retorted.

Rapping my hands around her waist, I pulled her in for a kiss. Searching through every part of her mouth as if searching for answers.

"We are outside, Rodrigo," Perlah protested, pushing me away.

Watching her shy attitude, a warm smile appeared on my face.

"Oh how I've missed you," I declared, moving away from her.

Looking around, I noticed the agent who brought her in was still standing there.

"Thank you, agent, for bringing my wife in. I do appreciate it," I said, walking towards the agent.

"It's okay sir, I'm only doing the job I got paid for, and since it ends here, I will take my leave," he replied, attempting to leave.

"No wait, I need just one more thing from you," I blurted out, stopping him from leaving.

"Well, if it's something I can help you with, it's my pleasure to help. Please tell me what it is," he declared, turning back around to face me.

"I need a new chief information security officer. Not just anyone, but someone as capable and hardworking as Antonio. And somebody I can trust. You know how my life is," I announced, studying his expression.

"Well, at least you agree he was hardworking. That's fine, I have someone in mind. I will send him to you first thing in the morning; you should go to your wife," he replied, walking away.

After the agent left, I looked back at Perlah who stood there waiting for me.

"You are so sweet, but why didn't you go in? Aren't you exhausted after everything? Did he hurt you?" I couldn't help but ask.

"Not really. Antonio wasn't mean to me, and he didn't hurt me either. He was nice to me, he claimed to love me first," Perlah replied, rolling her eyes.

"He's crazy," I whispered, sweeping Perlah off her feet. I walked into the bedroom with her in my arms and her chuckles filled the air.

I slowly placed her on the soft bed. Climbing after her, I positioned myself in between her legs.

PERLAH'S POV

"You're being shy with me, aren't you…" he asked, staring deep into my ocean-blue eyes.

"No, I'm not," I replied, returning the stare.

"Yes, you are, if not; show me," he retorted.

He expected my kiss, it was right there between us, waiting hungrily. But he didn't expect my hands so soft and fast.

Engrossed, he moved a hand to my lips, pressing two fingers there and staring.

Without thinking, I opened my mouth and let his index finger slip inside and against my teeth.

When he grunted quietly, I ran my tongue over his fingertip. He tastes like jelly.

Rodrigo pulled it back sharply, he looked like he was going to devour me.

He held my waist firmly and positioned himself, sliding into me.

I was stretched ruthlessly by his thickness.

My heart pounded in my chest, filling my ears, swallowing all other sounds, except for the creaking of the bed and the rustling of sheets as he dug further inside me with a strong push.

"Arrrrghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh,"

*************************************************************

RODRIGO'S POV.

I stroked Perlah's hair as she peacefully slept beside me.

"My baby, you must be so tired from last night," I whispered.

My phone started ringing, and I saw the caller. I quickly picked up my phone and sneaked out of the room to prevent Perlah from overhearing our conversation.

The ID caller was Ernesto Isko, my uncle.

"Why are you calling me?" I asked, whispering.

"What do you mean? I am your uncle, remember?" Isko replied at the other end of the call.

"You can't call me, Perlah must not hear or see you call me," I retorted, my heart beating fast.

"Relax, she doesn't even know me," he replied, laughing.

"Look, I don't care, you murdered her whole family in cold blood," I declared in low whispers.

"We planned that together for the code, remember? You should have gotten the code by now, so where is it? I can't wait to unlock her family's wealth and have it all to myself," Isko blunted out at the other end of the call.

"Well, the plan has changed. I'm in love with my wife now, and I don't plan on hurting her," I blurted out and promptly hung up.

Walking back into the room, I found Perlah standing by the bedside table holding her phone.

"Hey, is everything alright?" I called from behind.

"Yes, the hospital is calling to speak to us," Perlah replied, motioning me to come closer.

"Okay, put it on loudspeaker," I hastily replied.

"Is this Bayani's family?" the doctor sounded at the other end of the call.

"Yes, we are with you; please keep talking," I replied, pinching my fingers.

"Months after investigating the disappearance of your child, the body of an eleven-month-old child was found burned to death. After running special tests on the body, we discovered it was your son. Arcane was burnt alive, he's dead."
