Baby's First Days (3)

After Logan admonished and punished Summer for possibly harming Dorothy, he had her start doing various chores around his and Glynda's dorm while Tai rested on their couch with his aura healing him decently fast. Logan ended up keeping an eye on Summer after she tried to sneak away from it and Glynda took over and put Dorothy in her crib.

Logan had sighed after he returned from checking up on Tai and found Summer missing from the kitchen then saw Glynda floating her back in via her semblance. Logan ended up chaining her to the floor with his ash while he made tea for Glynda, the recovered Tai, and himself while Summer pouted while doing the dishes by hand.

Tai thought about punishing Summer himself by taking away the cookies she loved to snack on when they got home. He, however, thought better of it when he remembered how she slept. SHe always hogged the center of their bed and stole all the sheets and blankets as she hugged him in her sleep. Tai always knew she did it on purpose because she loved to cuddle in her sleep. He rather not have to sleep on the couch when she inevitably pushes him off the bed in the middle of the night. So Tai was just content with her being punished while they were here and not sleep on the couch back at home.

Summer, on the other hand, was planning to escape as soon as she could. She knew the ash-made chain around her ankle would be an issue, but one that she could deal with. She would stop at nothing to play with and spoil Dorothy as much as she could.

Little did she know that Logan was watching her like a hawk and had already disabled her semblance with his white flames.

Summer never managed to escape from Logan and could only sit and wallow as she was kept away from Dorothy as another form of punishment. She was forced to watch from afar as Dorothy was carried by her husband and as he did nothing to reduce her punishment. An adorable pout was adorned her face as she sat away from the group.

.

The next day was a surprise for Logan, Glynda, and Dorothy as a small party was thrown for the three of them, celebrating Dorothy's birth. The faculty, staff and the two teams that Logan and Glynda were close to had planned this once Glynda was recovered and settled in with Dorothy.

.

The Ports were responsible for all the food that was made, which was a surprise since not many knew that Professor Port could cook at all. Doctor Oobleck handled the decorations and helped Ren and Nora set up a conference call for those that couldn't make it; that being Qrow and Raven to Yang's surprise. Velvet along with her team were running around dealing with all the pictures that Velvet was taking of the party, she even managed to snag one of Jaune getting a faceful of cake courtesy of Pyrrha. Junior had sent a few good bottles of alcohol as a present and a letter of thanks for sending someone to watch over Yang while she was there which Jaune got. Qrow, who was on video call, said that he had sent a present already and that it should be there soon. Raven, who had basically abandoned everything and one, apologized for everything and congratulated the new parents. Once she was done with that, she and Yang ended up having a very awkward talk now that their curse was out in the open.

Salem and Ozpin had gone out of their way and wrote a book on parenting children who were magically gifted. Which was much to their relief since they weren't exactly sure how to care for her since Logan could already sense mana in Dorothy but it was far too little to do anything and would be like that for quite a while. Ruby, and a now freed Summer, were allowed to play with Dorothy but the use of their semblances was strictly outlawed with a punishment of no cookies for an entire week; which was a death sentence to the two of them.

Logan: 'Like mother, like daughter.' Logan thought with a chuckle when he saw their horror-stricken face after he told them that.

.

Tai had gone out of his way to knit, yes knit, several jumpers and onesies for Dorothy that he was proud of. And Logan had to give it to him, they were very well made and Glynda loved them. Especially the little witch one that he made to play off her name and a bird one he made to mock Logan a bit. Dorothy loved them and squirmed in annoyance when one was taken off of her to be washed or changed. But those two are her favorites.

Doctor Oobleck had given Logan a present that he made himself as well. It was a recipe for a scentless coffee so as to not make his 'Liquid Death' coffee around Dorothy. Something that Glynda had forbidden as the smell alone was far too much for the baby. So this was a bright light in a dark hour of his, though outside and during his classes were a grey zone as long as he cleaned the smell from him before he got back.

.

The girls of Team RWBY had gotten together and discussed what to get for little Dorothy. That being some high-quality bedding she could use now and later on in the future. Wiess had thought it would be the most practical and useful for her and them. Blake, while agreeing and going along with it, got her a massive, for Dorothy's size at least, fish that she could play with and to keep her company during the night. Yang and Ruby had also offered to watch over her if they needed a goodnight's sleep should they be too tired or want some alone time, in Yang's words.

Ruby smacked Yang for her comment.

Jaune, being the youngest of eight with the seven above him being girls, stitched a flaming bird wearing a witch's hat into several throw pillows for the couple. Pyrrha, not knowing what to do for them, had called her mother and asked for help which lead to her buying brand new dishes for them as a gift. Ren and Nora were unsure of what to do for them so they offered to watch her during classes if need be.

The party ended up going on for a few hours with Logan and Glynda taking turns to get Dorothy used to those that they trusted. There were a few mishaps along the way. Like when Velvet was holding Dorothy and dipping her rabbit ears down to play with her. Dorothy ended up grasping one of her ears and tugged a bit, causing Velvet to whimper as her ears were sensitive. Or when she vomited upon Yatsuhashi and Coco got the back end of it all over her back. Logan was she he heard Yang get smacked after she said something he didn't hear over Coco's surprised scream.

.

But the funniest part for both Logan and Glynda was when Dorothy went in her diaper as Yang held her. The look on her face when Dorothy's bottom had gotten warm and squishy make Logan keel over and fall to the floor in laughter. It didn't help that a bit of it came out the back of the diaper and onto her arm either. Tai and Summer giggled as Yang did the same thing when she was Dorothy's age to Qrow when he first held her.

.

The party ended on a high note when Jaune left and came back dressed up as a clown, apparently having lost a bet with Yang. He started juggling, doing tricks, and even had Yang smash a banana cream pie into his face for Dorothy to gurgle happily at. Though Jaune got back at Yang by using her jacket as a napkin to wipe his face off. Yang was mad but Jaune had called her out because she had cheated during their bet and that was payback. Ruby openly admitted to being bought off by Jaune offering her cookies because she saw Yang cheat. Logan and Glynda couldn't help but laugh as Jaune had a smug look on his face after he did that since Yang knew she was caught and had to deal with it.

.

Logan sighed happily as Glynda leaned against his shoulder as they sat and watched as Dorothy was paraded around by Summer and cooed at by Port's wife, Patricia. Logan couldn't remember the last time he felt this safe and happy in either one of his two lives. In his first life, his father and mother were always hounding him for this and that while constantly harassing him even after he had gotten married the first time. In his current life, Logan was far more concerned with Grimm and what was going on where no one dared to watch and where people acted on their most primal desires.

.

But now? Logan felt at ease. Like he didn't have to constantly look over his shoulder in fear of some random Grimm appearing out of thin air.

.

Logan smiled as he watched Dorothy start hicking, most likely wanting to be near her mother. With a small wave of his hand, ash pooled under her, and picked her up out of Summer's arms. Her eyes darted around as she floated gently over to the two of them and landed lightly in Glynda's awaiting arms. She calmed down almost immediately and wiggled in Glynda's grasp to get as close as possible to her mother. Glynda's heartbeat soon lulled Dorothy to sleep as she grasped her mother's shirt tightly.

Once Dorothy was asleep, the party ended quietly. The three teams started packing up the tables, chairs, and computers that were used during the party while the faculty and staff that joined helped clean up the dirty dishes and decorations. As Logan went to get up and help, Ozpin came by and place a hand on his shoulder.

.

Ozpin: "It's fine, Logan." Ozpin spoke quietly. "We'll handle it. After all, this party was for the three of you."

Logan: "I know." Logan replied. "And I thank them from the bottom of my heart, but I can't just leave this all to them."

Ozpin: "Trust me, it will be fine." Ozpin assured me. "Besides, you have a wife and child to attend to." He told Logan before walking off and helping out.

Looking over to his shoulder, Logan found Glynda asleep with Dorothy held snuggly against her bosom. Logan sighed, but he had a smile on his face as he gently picked the two of them up. Those cleaning up saw Logan mouth a 'thank you' to them and walk off, carrying Glynda in his arms while his ash made sure that Dorothy didn't fall off of Glynda.

It didn't take long for Logan to get back to his dorm. Once inside, he went about putting Dorothy in her crib and stripped Glynda of her clothes, and put her pajamas on her as he laid her down on their bed since it was getting late in the evening. As Glynda snuggled into the bed covers, Logan brushed a loose lock of her undone hair away from her face. To Logan, she looked angelic as she slept without a care in the world. Looking at the sleeping bundle that was Dorothy, Logan couldn't help but quietly chuckle when he saw that Dorothy wrinkled her nose just like Glynda does when she has a bad dream. Logan light picked her up and started rocking her back and forth to keep her from waking up. Eventually setting down on the floor with her in his arms.

.

Logan chuckled to himself as he stared at his daughter. Gone was her wrinkled nose which was replaced by a clam face as Dorothy laid against his chest. As Logan watched her sleep, his eyelids became heavier and heavier. Not fighting the feeling of sleep, Logan angled himself so that he wouldn't drop Dorothy in his sleep and locked his arms as he did so.

Logan: "Night you two." Logan whispered as he fell asleep.
