Narrow Escape

Anslem, Rubian Capital

2030

The triplets exchanged bewildered glances.

"How do we know you're not lying?" Trey asked, his eyes narrowed. Yuka let out an exasperated sigh and using his mind's eye, he displayed what was going on outside, on the wall of General Spiers study, like a projector.

Eight men were trying to break into the front door of their apartment. General Spiers immediately went pale.

Now, do you believe me?" Yuka asked.

"What's going on? Why are we suddenly being attacked?" Trey asked.

"There's no time for questions. It's a life or death situation and if you want to survive, you have to come with me" Yuka said.

"To where?" Carl asked.

"Galactica. You'll be safe there"

"There's no way I'm going to Galactica! We might be jumping from the pan to the fire itself!" Carl said and General Spiers shook his head. "Listen, if the queen has placed a kill order on us, the only place we can be safe is Galactica" he said to his sons. "But-"

"Make your decisions quickly because the barrier I have placed here is quickly fading" Yuka said.

"Fine! We're coming with you!" Shade said and Yuka opened a new portal to Galactica. They all stepped into the portal and appeared on a sunflower field in Galactica. "Woah, everything looks normal" Carl said and Yuka scoffed. "What did you expect? Blood red skies and gray flowers?" He asked and Carl shrugged.

"Maybe? I mean you guys are supposed to be demonic in nature and scary as hell. There's really nothing scary about you, though and it's weird" Carl said and Trey nodded in agreement.

"We get misunderstood a lot" Yuka said and Shade finally spoke up. "So, you can open portals to anywhere you want to go to?"

"Yes?"

"Does that mean that there are black bloods both in Silvera and Sapphira?" Trey asked. "Yes. We can blend if we want to. But once they figure out what we are, they'll chase after us with their modernized pitchforks"

They finally got to a white bungalow with a white picket fence. "You grew up here?" General Spiers asked and Yuka replied in the negative. "So, that means you grew up in Silvera" Trey said. "In the palace, to be precised"

"What?! I thought Silverans-"

"Despise Galacticans? Sure, they do"

"Then, how are you-"

"That's enough questions for now" Yuka said when they got to the front door of the apartment. He knocked on the door and the door swung open. "Aunt?!" He called out and a black cat made its way into the sitting room, it's red eyes glowing brightly.

"There you are. Come on, you have guests. I think you should change into something un-cat-like" Yuka said and the cat retreated into one of the rooms. Few minutes later, a woman with red eyes and black hair walked in, wearing a blue dress. "My, oh, my. My nephew decided to finally visit me after all these years" she said with a smile on her face. She embraced Yuka and kissed his cheek.

"How have you been Kyazchiyuka?" she said and he grinned.

"I've been great. I brought you some guests"

His aunt sniffed, her gaze resting on General Spiers and his sons.

"Red bloods. How lovely! Sit down, why don't you?" She said, gesturing at the cozy looking sofas in the sitting room. "Don't be afraid, I really don't bite" she said and General Spiers grimaced.

"General Spiers, meet my Aunt. Aunt, meet General Spiers" Yuka said and his aunt smiled, flashing her sparkly white fangs.

"Call me Lizquanqou"

"You can call her Liz" Yuka stated. "You four, must be hungry. I'll make something for us all to eat. Relax" she said and left the sitting room.

"Okay, your aunt is weird" Shade whispered.

"She can hear you, you know" Yuka said and his eyes widened.

"Yes! I know I'm weird!" Liz yelled from the kitchen.

General Spiers stood up and started to head towards the front door. "Yuka, can I talk to you for a minute?"

"Sure"

They both went to the front porch. "I need to know how my daughter is doing. I've been feeling so guilty because it's my fault she ended up in Silvera in the first place" Hazel's father said, a worried look in his eyes. "Hazel is fine, General. She's adjusting quite well, too"

"Be honest with me, Yuka"

General Spiers said, gripping Yuka's hand.

"Your daughter is amazing. I'm a little worried about how rebellious she's quickly becoming, but she's doing okay. If you're worried about her being suffocated in the palace, you don't have to be"

"I don't know who you are exactly. But something tells me I can trust you. Please, take care of my daughter. Protect her for me"

"I will"

....

Jotham, Silveran Capital

Queen Clarice sat on her icy throne with a stony expression on her face. All she could think of was ways to break Hazel. She couldn't handle the fact that a mere red blood was rebelling against her.

"My queen, you called for me" Nazi said and bowed in front of the queen.

"You train with that filth, don't you?" the queen said and Nazi nodded.

"I want you to ruin her. Do not hesitate to use your magic anytime you have to face her. She has to go down, do you understand?"

"Yes, your highness"

"If you work really hard, then you just might become Caden's bride. Don't you want that?"

Nazi grinned.

"I will appreciate that, my queen"

Eight men suddenly walked into the throne room and bowed before the queen in respect. "You carried out your jobs so quickly, I'm impressed" the queen said but was greeted with total silence. She slowly rose to her feet, her eyes narrowed.

"What happened?"

"We are deeply sorry, your highness" one of the men said and the queen clenched her fist, the room instantly becoming colder.

"Sorry about what?" She demanded through gritted teeth. "They escaped before we were able to break in"

"What?!"
