Chapter Three

I read about many things at the library, the main thing being the history of the world. The Kingdom I was born to was 'The Monarch of Falls'. It was named this because of it's picture perfect waterfalls. Our kingdom had only had a drought once, and it was four hundred years old! It was founded by The Nightshades, the rulers to this day, and were good leaders. This country is actually the best to live in right now, the rest have high taxes and have poor conditions all around with little infrastructure, i.e. roads, government buildings etc.

"Ah, Mrs. Morgan! And is that your daughter!" My mom was pretty eye-catching here, she has silver hair and green eyes like mine, and is completely gorgeous. I looked up at a man with signature grey eyes and dark brown hair. I knew exactly who he was without even needing an introduction and instantly bowed.

"Hahaha, your daughter is polite! Ah don't bow child! Your like family to us, so rise!" I did so hesitantly because the man was the king. My mom laughed wryly before speaking.

"Is there something you need M'lord? Otherwise I would like to get back to reading." I had to struggle not to laugh at my mother cutting him down so easily. The king pouted before replying.

"Well... Mariel wanted to meet her goddaughter..." He was still pouting, and I finally giggled. The king and queen we're my godparents. The reason why is the king was kind of a goofball who felt horrible about my dad's death, especially since he knew both of them way, way before he had been slain. Apparently they had all been friends since they were young when the king, albeit a prince at the time, hide his identity and ran around the castle town with the other kids.

"Rosie, do you want to meet the Queen?" My mom asks, but the king was making puppy dog eyes at me. The king is a giant muscular man, so naturally puppy dog eyes made him look stupid. I couldn't help but giggle at him and he gave me a lopsided grin.

When we got to the Queen's quarters, I paused as if unsure of going in. In truth I was worried about the Queen's condition as she was around seven months pregnant. I looked up at my mother whom held my hand and she smiled reassuringly. I breathed in deeply because of the quivering butterflies, then I pushed the door open.

A women with flaming orange hair and a beautiful figure (although pregnant) lay on a bed. She looked up from a book she was reading at us, then instantly tried to stand, and the king and my mother rushed to stop her. I smiled sweetly up at her, being little taller then the bed which she lay.

"Hwello iwm Roesie." NOOOOO why now lisp! The woman smiled radiantly down at me, and then the king lifted me up by the sides and set me at her feet.

"Hello there little Rose! Awww your sooooo cute!" She leaned forwards and started to pinch my cheeks.

"Of course she is! She is mine and my husband's daughter!" My mother declared, and my face burned from my mother's comment.

"Oh hope this baby is a girl! I want a little girl to play with~ How unfair Alty!" Mariel whines loudly and my mother laughs. I then endured more cheek pinching and then cuddles. I didn't enjoy it now shut up!

Me and mom walked home in silence. I couldn't help but think of everything that had happened since I had been reborn. My father being dead was sad, but I was happy to have a mother since mine had been dead since I was three. She had been killed in a robbery, and my dad had died of cancer before I was born. I really hope my mom didn't die here too, or I may cry alot. S-shut up I'm not starting to tear up because of the thought! Anyways, magic was a thing here! It's amazing too, you can do anything other then certain healing spells. I lived in a small two story home with my own bedroom and bathroom! I enjoyed starring out the window and watching the crowds whenever I could.

When we got home my mom cooked a meal for us and we sat down to eat.

"Rose slow down or you'll choke!" I gave an approximation of a yes through a mouth full of food, and was instantly reprimanded for bad ettiquete. Naturally after dinner I got an ettiquete lesson from mom as she want her daughter to be 'perfect at everything' and all. I didn't want to disappoint her, so naturally I listened and tried to learn everything I was told.

When dinner and the ettiquete lesson ended I took out the geography book I had borrowed and was reading it while mom prepared her work things for tommorow. Instead of being left with one of our neighbors my mom said I was going to play with the prince, as the Queen requested it so. My mom warned me it was more then likely a ploy to try to hook us up. Apparently the Queen and King wanted me as a daughter-in-law since they heard how magnificent I am. My mom loves to exaggerate my skills.... Ok maybe I can cook amazingly but it's from my last life ok! Wh-what do you mean my memory? W-well yeah it's kind of identical b-but... OK I GET IT! Anyways it's traditional here for the royal family to marry a child here to a commoner, it was seen as good luck. However, I don't want to marry a prince, it's too much work! I told this to my mom and she laughed herself silly. Then she told the Queen and she laughed too, before apparently saying that 'she'll change her mind, we'll get her yet!' in a creepy witch voice. It's totally that and not the insistant cheek pinching and hugs and.... Ok I admit the affection is scary! Are you happy now?
