An Encounter, Part 2

Xia brought me to a place where there was very few people. I was a bit nervous, but I tell myself that there's no need to feel that way. I'm sure this will be nothing but closure, but I'm certain of another thing as well...

"Uhm, about before… I'm really sorry." She said and faced down. "I was selfish, forcing you to date me and then suddenly leaving you. I'm really sorry for the things I've done."

"…It's fine." I said, though I think the past me wouldn't have agreed on what I said.

"N-No, I don't think it's fine… I hurt you badly-"

I cut her off before she could even tell me more. "Haven't I told you before? I only dated you to try you out."

She seemed quite uneasy after hearing that, surely she'll start thinking that I am a real jerk talking like that. "T-Then it was never serious… y-you were never serious?"

"Yeah, so seriously, don't even bother."

Hearing my response left a bitter smile on her face, but she shakes her head. "You know… I really liked you, and actually, I still do." She confessed.

"Are you actually hoping for a second chance with me?" I asked bluntly.

Surprised by my question, she instantly denied my assumption. "No, no, no! It's not that…" her face began to turn red. "…I know I don't deserve a second chance, I really don't because…"

Ah, will she tell me that now?

"I have kept a secret from you." She said and looked at me with guilt on her eyes. "…I have a child."

Her revelation did not surprise me one bit because I already knew about this. I was so furious from the time that I've learned that I was somewhat deceived in a way. I didn't like the idea of dating a woman like her, but as time passes, I realized that her past has nothing to do with the relationship we had… I forgive her, but I could never think of a future with someone like her.

"I know." I replied.

"Huh!?" She was surprised again by my answer, and so I told her that I actually happen to see her with her ex talking about their child. She understood and was ashamed to know that I knew about it a long time ago. "I'm really sorry!"

"Enough with the apologies, geez." I told her.

"I'm so-… I can't help it, I'm really pathetic." She muttered.

I sighed and felt that it was troublesome to have talked to her like this. Things could've been better if we never met again. "Say, what happened to your relationship with your kid's father?"

Her embarassed look melted away and turned into a dismayed expression. "It didn't work out."

"I see…"

Then she tries to change the subject, asking how I've been and if there's someone I was seeing. "I uhh…" I didn't really know how to answer her question.

"I-Is there no one in particular?" She asked.

"I-"

"As a matter of fact, there's someone he is seeing."

"…!" We were both surprised by Toma who jumped right in the conversation.

"Tomakawa…" Just how many more times will I see Xia being surprised like this?

"Or should I say it in a way you'll understand better?…" Toma pulls me closer to him, making me very flustered. "This man is mine, sissy."
