Chapter 23

Nathan took excuse from us because he wanted to do something, the king was staring at me and I felt uncomfortable with him staring at me, I lowered my gaze as I fiddled with the edge of the shawl.

"You really don't like him, do you?" he asked me and I couldn't answer him, should I say no and get reprimanded for not liking his son or I should say yes after he had deceived me.

"Why didn't you give him what he asked for?" he asked me and I stared at him in bewilderment, he knew about our deal and how I tried to renege it.

"Yes I know about your deal, why don't you give him what he asked for after he had done his part?" he asked me again.

"Your majesty, I really wished it was as easy as the way it seems but I don't want to create a problem I would not be able to solve for my people, I hope you can understand me" I finally got the courage to talk to him.

"You made a deal with him, why did you want to renege it?, because he asked for something impossible?" he asked again and I looked down hastily, I couldn't find a suitable answer.

"Let us forget about that, since you are here already you should be able to do it" he said and I gave him a simple nod.

"Did you know what the words on his neck means?" he asked me.

"No your Majesty" I answered him back. "He didn't tell you anything about him, did he?" he asked and I shook my head.

"When the time comes you would understand, you also have it on your neck, similar to his" he said. I had not noticed it as I was busy arguing about the changes made in my eyeballs.

"I think you should try to get along with him soon" he said and I was confused by what he meant, what does he mean by soon?

"You should try to see the love that he has for you now before it is too late" he said and I was getting more confused, what does he mean by getting late?,

He said and looked outside before he sighed.

"I can see a rough future for the two of you, why not use the little time you have to create memories with each other?" he asked and my eyes widened, rough future?.

After we had a long talk with the king, we went back home and he still wasn't talking to me and I wondered why?.

I would accede to his request and try my best to love him, even if it would be impossible with what he did to me today.

The sky became darker and the sun was covered by an ocean of darkness, lightning struck hard and the sky started his heavy downpour of rain. I changed into my pink nightgown ready to fall in a deep slumber and when I laid on the bed, he faced the other side, I frowned as I stared at his back.

shortly afterwards, I heard his steady breath indicating that he fell asleep and I snuggled closer to him and wrapped my arms around his waist and I rubbed my cheek against his back.. Finally I drifted off to sleep.

Nathan woke up very early in the morning, he wanted to get up from his bed but something was holding him. He looked closer and he could see that it was Rose's small arm, he was stunned. She had told him not to touch her and now she was touching him. He felt really happy with their intimate position so he turned to face her. Seeing her pretty rose like face made his day already as he leaned in to kiss her lips.

my eyelashes fluttered open and I could see Nathan towering over me, kissing me..When he saw my face he stopped what he was doing.

"Good morning" I greeted him and he raised his left eyebrow at me.

"Good morning" he answered back, he wanted to climb off me but I pulled him back..I used my palms to lift his face so he would see me clearly. I wrapped my arms around his neck and pressed my lips on his as we thrashed on the bed with him on top of me.

Nathan was stunned with what I was doing so he didn't do anything further, why was she so brazen now? He was curious to know what I would do next. And I didn't do anything further as I waited for him. I guess we were both waiting for each other.

"This is what you would receive every morning for doing as you wished" I told him and he looked surprised at my outburst, the shy kitten had turn into a wild cat.

"And I would keep repeating my mistakes everyday so that I would get this punishment" he said and I smiled at him, I pulled him down for a hug.

"Nathan, I would give you what you asked for" I told him and he stared at my face to make sure I wasn't lying to him.

"I meant what I said, I would give you my heart" I told him again.

"Are you sure you are ready to give me?" he asked me and I nodded my head in response and he smiled at me and hugged me back.

"Thank you Rose" he said.

I heard a knock on the door, I knew it was my maid but I did not move an inch and I did not push him away either.

"Should she come in?" he asked me and I nodded.

"You are not scared that you might get caught in this position with me?" he asked me and I shook my head.

"Nope" I told him.

"Come in" he said and the maid opened the door, she quickly turned around.

"I want to serve my lady, lord Nathan" she said and he rolled off me, I quickly stood up and went with the maid to the bath. When I was done and we were eating together.

"Do you know where I can find hawthorn trees here?" I asked him.

"You are going to get berries?" he asked me instead.

"Yes" I said.

"We have them here in the house" he told me.

"I know, I just want to pick fresh ones" I told him.

"Yes I know where they are, are you going now?" he asked.

"Yes, let's go together" I answered him with a smile.
