It was in the middle of the night when Drake arrived at Bedero. He looked around the city and finally went to the place he was looking for.
The Academy of Bedero, full of young and skilled commoner users. The building was placed right beside the Sora Tower, another sign that this town belonged to Sora Union.
As soon as he arrived outside the gate, he quietly entered the backyard, jumping out from the high wall. No one was in his radar while he did that. He thought the guards must be patrolling around.
As he used his senses, he could see a barrier that was made by a Bismouth. It lined from the tower through the academy building. The barrier was just a regular barrier with energy and If he passed it, the people in Sora tower would notice.
But fortunately for him, the Bismouth was not skilled enough so they just put the barrier on the front, not coating it above the building.
"Hora!" Drake called his dragon. With Hora ability, he could take him to fly high above the barrier, directly landing on the roof. When Drake was on top of his body, Hora could still use the invincible skill, also making drake be invisible.
They landed on the roof of the academy. Drake was about to go down the stairs and looking for the dean rooms as he heard the sound of someone on the rooftop.
It came from a man yawning at the corner. He gave Drake a look with his heavy eyes. As soon as he realized someone was there with him, that man stood up from her sleep instantly.
"Who are you?"
Drake kept his mouth silent as he looked at him. Just by his energy alone, he knew this man was strong. A strong Bismouth for real.
"Are you the one who made the barrier?" Drake asked behind his mask.
This man was reluctantly answering Drake. He was also surprised how Drake was able to notice the thin transparent barrier he made. Not even a single user in this town was able to spot the barrier.
As a matter of fact, this man thought Drake was able to cross the barrier without him knowing. It's Impossible. "Where'd you come from?"
Drake replied, "You have a great job making the barrier. But it's not enough. You have to cover the top area of the building too, you know." He said, pointing above to the sky.
"What do you want? Who are you?" The man took a step closer to Drake.
Drake was going to tell him since this person might have an important role for the academy. "I need to meet the dean. You could show me the room."
The man thought Drake was crazy. "I'm not going to do that." He could be a murderer.
"Well, then. I'm in a hurry." Darke turned around to leave. But the young man was in the position, ready to attack Drake.
He ran fast enough about to grab Drake's shoulder.. "Hey! You can't…!"
He thought he was grabbing him. But before his finger touched the fabric of his clothes, Drake turned his body, yanking out the man's shoulder. In the blink of eyes, the man was being pushed down to the ground.
"The hell!" He wobbled but Drake's power was incredibly strong.
"You don't have a chance to face me. Now, can you show me the principle room?" He said, kind enough no to raise his voice.
"No way! You could be a killer!" The man snapped back at Drake.
In an instant, Drake released him. He made a surrender gesture and said, "I bring no harm tonight."
The man got up right away, tidying the dust from his pants. "Who would believe you?"
Somehow, Drake was amazed how this man didn't cower even once, though he knew the gap between their power. "You are not afraid of death, aren't you?"
The man kept his intense stare on Drake, as he was blocking the only way to the stairs.
Drake didn't want to fight tonight. He wanted to bargain a bigger scale with the dean.
"I'm not joking," He said, taking out a bottle with red liquid. It's Something the man needed.
"This is the antidote for the flower of deadly nightshade." It was not a secret that the Dean from Bedero once got poisoned by deadly nightshade flower.
He was in severe pain when the episode came. And no Sora had the antidote for him. Or yet, they didn't want him to completely heal.
They used a small amount of it to control his pain, to take over this Bedero town. Typical sly move from Sora Union.
As the young man stared at the bottom, he had somehow given up his guard mode. "Alright, Follow me."
Drake was led to a room at the end of a corner below the rooftop. How the time was right. As the man opened the door. He saw another old man, wriggling on the floor with his face showing nothing but pain.
"Dad!" The man came inside the room, helping him. "Did they not give you the painkiller for today?"
"I.. " The old man gasped in his torment.
It was a perfect time for Drake to show. "Give this to him." He handed out the bottle to them.
The young man was in a hurry to open the bottle. "If this turns out to be wrong, I will kill you!" He said that before letting his dad take the entire content.
"It's safe." Drake said.
Soon after, Drake saw the old man vomiting a black liquid out of his body. It smelled rotten, different than blood.
"What happen? You said it's safe!" His son was in panic seeing his dad vomit.
The old man then grabbed his son's hand. He no longer felt the pain. Only his energy was worn out.
He took a glance at Drake, wondering what the man gave. "What is it that I took?"
"The antidote." Drake smirked, "Congratulations, you just threw up the poison out of your body."
After everything calmed down, the old man was positioned on the bed. He never hoped for this kind of miracle. "I'm so thankful for what you did."
Drake asked directly to the point. "You're the dean, right?"
The old man nodded, "Yes, my name is Brood Frest. I'm the dean of Bedero Academy. This is my son, Victor Frest."
Victor bowed his head to Drake. He was so thankful that this man came helping his poor dad.
"I'm Drake. What happened to the painkiller they gave?" Drake asked curiously.
Brood hesitantly explained to him. "The Sora Tower, they need more younger children around the age of five. Said they need them to be trained as Sora."
"You don't follow what they say, right?" Victor asked, making sure his father was on the right choice.
"Of course I don't. The last children from five years ago, they haven't given us the update yet. How could I deliver more of our children to them? That's why they didn't gave me the painkiller in these past days."
"I knew it! Those bastards!" Victor gritted his teeth.
Drake finally said his offer to them. "You're already healed, there's no need for you to follow them anymore. That's why I want to make a deal with you."
Brood nodded, he would agree with everything as long as Drake didn't harm his town. "What do you want, young boy? I sense you are a great user, but you're more likely a Bismouth than a Sora. How'd you get the antidote?"
"Just imagine me as both," Drake said, exposing his plan. "Brood, be a king. Be the ruler of this town. My flag will be the one protecting you, and you'll not be controlled by Sora Union again."
Brood and Victor of course, were so surprised hearing that. "What?"
