Rising of the Pet System

A young man who was a slave for as long as he remembers finally gets set free into the world by a powerful devil as her servant. As named by her, he took Hades as a name and a way of life. As her hellhound unleashed on the world, she gave him a contract. The more he sacrifices for her, the more power she will grant him. What to expect? The world of Alseria is a ruthless world so don’t expect people to be just after power or be evil for the sake of evil. Each villain I wrote has a legitimate reason for his action, and by legitimate I mean something good. The MC: He isn’t a good guy neither he is evil. He just wants to get by, and occasionally ends up causing a disaster. His sense of morality isn’t like other people’s due to his upbringing and this story is about him trying to be normal. The MC Powers: He has abilities granted to him by the system, not magic. Even though magic exists and is prominent in the world, our MC doesn’t have the patience to sit and learn it. By the end game, he will have a total of ten powerful abilities (Which are addressed in the ten-chapter prologue) I decided to take the HP, MP, and SP from the system concept since they aren’t good indicators of physical capabilities. Instead, I exchanged them for visual indicators, like if the MC is stabbed in the chest, his health is probably too low to stand. I will keep a review so you can contact me easily.

Selling the parts

"Hey, you. What do you're doing?" And adventurer stood in the pub glaring at Hades's back. Tension started rising as all the other adventurers put their hands on their hilts in unison Tap!

Hades stood up, CRACK! His chair fell to the ground, breaking the silence. Slowly turning his head around, both his and Fen's glare pierced the adventurer.

Sweating, the adventurer pulled his sword gulping. 'Monsters…' He thought.

"Sit down, don't hurt them." Gabriella lifted Hades's chair and pulled him down to sit, even though she didn't want trouble. She was exhausted enough.

The adventurer took a step ahead, "You think I won't…"

"Stand down!" The bartender shouted at him.

At that moment, Hades lifted his hand up. Without even looking at the adventurer. [Attraction]

At that moment, the adventurer felt as if his blade was tied with a rope to a horse. He couldn't hold onto it as Hades pulled it toward his hand.

Everyone froze at the bizarre scene, the adventurer's blade flew to Hades on its own. The adventurer stared dumbfounded at his empty hands.

Hades clenched his hand on the sword's handle, slowly presenting Fen with the blade. Fen opened his jaws, gently clenching them. CRUNCH! CHURCH! He started chewing on the blades as if it was a chicken bone.

As the blade broke, Hades lifted his hand holding only the handle. Fen continued eating the blade. Pointing the handle at the adventurer, [Repulsion] BAM! The blade flew at a blinding speed and went out of the window. BAM! It cracked the window, barely missing a woman that was passing by taking a thread of her hair. CRACK! The handle crushed into the next building wall and stuck there.

As the adventurer stood there, a wound opened on his cheek bleeding. He fell on the ground shaking, "What was that?"

Gabriella coughed to gather attention, "If I hadn't told him to hold back, the handle would have gone through your head." She stood gulping her drink in one go. "Let's go up, if we stayed here for longer a fight is going to start."

Hades stood with her, "Please be careful." The bartender warned her, those people here are usually spiteful and could try to get back at them.

"Don't worry, see you next time." Gabriella smiled.

As the two walked up the stairs, they could feel the gazes still on their backs. Under normal circumstances, Hades would have already started ripping. Now he was holding back as Gabriella has told him that immediately killing isn't always a solution.

As they reached the office room on the second floor, a receptionist greeted them. "Welcome to the hunters guild, some call it adventurers guild but that isn't the official name."

Gabriella stared at her, "Is there a difference?"

"Adventuring means exploring the unknown, and it holds a great risk to one's life. We don't support that." The receptionist smiled, "As the hunters' guild, we specialize in tracking, identifying, capturing, and hunting monsters. Our motto is the safety of our employees."

Hades looked at her with a passive face and a faint smile, "You smell like stables, full of horse shit." The receptionist froze in her place.

Gabriella's head snapped as she turned toward Hades, "What?"

"Cael told me to say it to anyone I think is lying, even Abel said it's the right thing to do," Hades replied.

Gabriella took a few moments to think about what she just heard.

"This place is amazing," Hades stared at the guild receptionist, "The room below smells of blood, steel, and rotten wood. Each of the people inside had the same stare as those people I killed with Cael before, he called them bandits." He looked back at the door, "Can I go kill some of them? You have a lot." He said with a smile, his eyes having a faint red glow.

"Sorry, that was the procedure to present the guild to the ruling family. Showing any signs of trouble could bring us a lot of legal problems." The receptionist gave up and apologized. The stare in Hades's eyes resembled those of William Ginis, the previous general when he first visited.

Gabriella sighed, "Let's get this done with quickly, I'm exhausted." She looked at the receptionist, "We brought a load of monster parts to sell, they have been left with the butchering team at the door so please so to that."

The receptionist nodded, pushing her wooden chair back. She stood fixing her long black hair. She turned around and walked toward the wall, on it she found a long copper pipe that she opened.

"Is the load inspection done?" She said.

After just a few seconds an old man's voice replied, "The one left by the trio with the blond girl? Yeah, but can you ask them how the fuck they killed the dryad?"

The receptionist turned toward Gabriella with a worried face, "You two fought a dryad?" She couldn't believe that the high priest Gabriella had faced such a dangerous monster.

"He punched her till she wasn't able to move and then I chopped her head. He helped me do that though." Gabriella replied with a smile pointing at Hades. The receptionist stood frozen.

The voice in the tube gasped, "Punched her? No wonder her whole body was cracked like hell. The bitch was dryer than…ahem than sand. Your guy there must be a hard nut to crack."

"It was a real pain to heal him…tell us how much everything there is worth," Gabriella replied.

"Healed him, are you a healer miss? Blond girl." The voice asked.

"Well, of course, I'm a high priest after all." She replied.

CRACK! CLING! "Fuck! Cut my finger with the hatchet…Ahem sorry…" They heard his footsteps rush away, and a bit of screaming. Thud! Thud! He came back. "Ahem, sorry for the inconvenience lady Gabriella."

Gabriella scratched her head, "Is your finger all right?"

"Yeah, of course. I finished counting all of your parts, and the final estimate of the base price is six gold coins and thirty-two silver coins, and seven coppers." The man replied (6G-32S-7C)

The receptionist walked back to her chair with a sweating face, this has been a rocky meeting now is the hardest part.

She sat down, took a deep breath, and opened the drawer. From it, she took six gold coins.

With shaking lips, she finally spoke, "I will give you six gold coins for everything."

Gabriella stared at her with an exhausted face, "Six gold and thirty silver. We hunted them on our own without the guild's support."

"We can't have that, we need to leave enough for the payment of our workers. Six gold and ten silvers are all I can give." The receptionist glared back at Gabriella.

"Fine twenty-five silver coin is as low as I can go." Gabriella knocked on the table.

"You two aren't registered in the guild yet, if you're interested I can arrange a free test and an immediate registration upon completion. But I will only give you 15 silver coins." The receptionist smiled pushing the registration papers toward Gabriella.

Gabriella smiled, "Got yourself a deal, make the arrangements." After a warm handshake, the deal was stamped.

"I will get everything ready, please wait downstairs." The receptionist stood smiling. The guild's net profit was 17S-7C on this deal, not too big nor too low.

Finally Hades is going to register as a hunter so he can kill as much as he wants.
