Rising of the Pet System

A young man who was a slave for as long as he remembers finally gets set free into the world by a powerful devil as her servant. As named by her, he took Hades as a name and a way of life. As her hellhound unleashed on the world, she gave him a contract. The more he sacrifices for her, the more power she will grant him. What to expect? The world of Alseria is a ruthless world so don’t expect people to be just after power or be evil for the sake of evil. Each villain I wrote has a legitimate reason for his action, and by legitimate I mean something good. The MC: He isn’t a good guy neither he is evil. He just wants to get by, and occasionally ends up causing a disaster. His sense of morality isn’t like other people’s due to his upbringing and this story is about him trying to be normal. The MC Powers: He has abilities granted to him by the system, not magic. Even though magic exists and is prominent in the world, our MC doesn’t have the patience to sit and learn it. By the end game, he will have a total of ten powerful abilities (Which are addressed in the ten-chapter prologue) I decided to take the HP, MP, and SP from the system concept since they aren’t good indicators of physical capabilities. Instead, I exchanged them for visual indicators, like if the MC is stabbed in the chest, his health is probably too low to stand. I will keep a review so you can contact me easily.

Kidnappers Hideout I

AGRAAAAAAA! One of the two kidnappers screamed in agony as Hades kicked him in the jewels.

"Nice, just like that. Now my turn." Cael rushed in and kicked the man as well. GRWAAAAAAAA! He cried in agony.

"Care to tell us where your base is?" Cael pulled the kidnapper by the hair.

Tuf! The kidnapper spat on Cael's face, "In your mo…" GRWAAAA!

Before the kidnapper could finish, Cael stabbed his leg with his sword. "There is no YOUR, where it is."

"Like…I…" The kidnapper tied to talk.

"Hades," Cael said.

Hades kicked the man in the jewels again, as he was backing down to let Cael ask, he got the idea of kicking again, and again. The kidnapper started shaking, unable to breathe or scream from the pain.

"Told you to kick him once." Cael stared at Hades.

"Can I kick him again?" Hades asked.

"Go for it, as much as you want," Cael replied.

"I'll talk, I'll talk…"

GRWAAAAA! Hades kicked him again. "Speak!" Cael glared at him.

"Outside the city, the abandoned iron mine to the north. The entrance is behind the small stream hidden by big bushes." The kidnapper cried.

"Good, see you can talk. Wouldn't it have been better if you talked from the start?" Cael dropped the man. Turned around and then kicked him in the face.

"Shit face, ruining my work. Do you know how much I prepared for that inspection tour?" He spat on the unconscious man.

"Cael, what's going on?" Eva reached the spot with a battalion of guards, more than twenty.

"Commander this…" They saw the carnage behind them and were terrified.

"The kidnappers we've been searching for the past three months, Hades sniffed them out." Cael looked at Eva.

"Did you kill them?" She asked with a worried face.

"They fought back. Had to kill them." Cael replied.

"Sister! He's lying, we didn't fight back! Those two massacred us out of…" The remaining captive kidnapper tried to crawl toward Eva but the guards ganged on him and kicked him away.

"Cael, I see one is barely alive?" She looked at the tortured kidnapper.

"Got their hideout location, better raid them quickly," Cael said with a serious face.

"Sister! You can't let him go unpunished! The go…" Eva glared at the screaming kidnapper.

"Take this one to father, tell him he's one of the kidnappers and he should know how to deal with him." She said.

"As you order," Some of the guards gaged the man and dragged him away.

"Shall we go? As you said, we better clean everything quickly." Eva said with a smile.

"What should we do with him?" Cael asked pointing at the tortured kidnapper.

"Threw him with the other corpses of course." She smiled.

SPLAT! Hades immediately kicked the man in the head crushing his skull.

Cael turned toward him, "You understood that?"

"Understood what?" Hades was confused. He thought if they were throwing the man with the corpses, he could kill him.

"You're a bit slow but at least acted nicely." Eva smiled at Hades. She had meant that he was to be killed, Cael understood her but Hades didn't. Guards here don't kill thieves and petty criminals, killers, and kidnappers who conduct slave and drug dealing were an exception.

"Survivors are in this direction, go grab them and make sure they are fine," Cael said to the remaining guards pointing toward the back.

Half of them rushed to help the survivors while the rest stayed to help raid the hideout.

On their way to the hideout, Cael picked more guards from the wall and guided them along. The mission was to clear the abandoned mine, save anyone and get rid of all the kidnappers.

"Hey, are there more people to kill there?" Hades asked Eva.

"I told you there are," Cael stood between them and glared at Hades. "At least that should be the case. Such criminals never go all out at once."

"Say Hades, why are you so keen on killing people and monsters?" Eva asked with a puzzled face. She thought Cael was violent but seeing how Hades she started to think he was pretty calm.

"I do need it to get my Cat back," Hades replied.

"I see…" Eva said suspecting something.

'Asking any further might not be a wise idea, considering how fast he can snap, we might get killed the moment we step over the line.' She was well aware of how violent Hades can be, from all their interaction she was certain. He didn't value human life as other humans do.

"There should it be, just behind those bushes." Cael pointed out.

"I can see nothing," Eva said, hiding behind him.

"The place is quite dark but we can't light torches. That will alert the kidnappers." One of the guards said. Slowly going ahead and circling around the bushes to locate the entrance.

After a while, he returned to report to Cael about his finding.

"There a wooden plank with a rock on top. I suspect that's the entrance." The guard reported.

"Anything else?" Cael asked.

"The rock might be too heavy to move silently. I bet the wood will cry like a baby once we remove it." He looked toward the bushes, "I suggest we look for the back exist."

"Doubt the mine will have one, those things only went deeper," Eva whispered from behind Cael.

"Hey, look there." One of the guards did his best not to scream as he pointed toward the entrance.

Hades was standing there, glaring at the rock blocking the entrance. He slowly lifted his foot up.

…Inside the hideout and close to the entrance, one of the kidnappers yawned. "Think a beauty will be in this patch?" He asked his friend.

"Forget it, even if there was one, we have no water to clean her up." The other one replied pointing at the empty barrels.

"Yeah, those slum rats are pretty gross. Bitches surviving the night cause…" BANG! The door got busted in a cloud of dust.

The torches flame danced as the dust got burned, and the two bandits coughed picking their swords. "A monster?" They wandered.

Thud! Hades leaped from the dust and BAM! He punched one of them in the face [Repulsion] the acceleration was enough to snap the bandit's neck killing him.

"Bastard!" The other one pulled his sword and swung at Hades.

[Repulsion] Hades deflected the blade with his ability. The bandit felt as if he hit a large puddle of sticky honey and his blade slid to the side.

Taking a step to the side, Hades hit the man in the guts with his elbow [Attraction] this caused his elbow to dig deeper into the bandit's organs. [Repulsion] and with a blast, he sent him away.

Hades rushed inside, his only objective was to kill as many as possible.

He was close to leveling up again, three more humans to go. He never bothered counting before but now it started to seem fun. One, two, three, humans' worth of favor.

"Intruder!" A bandit yelled as he saw Hades rushing toward him.

He pulled his crossbow and fired a bolt.

Hades lifted his arms in a boxer guard and stood in his place [Repulsion] Last think those wooden pew-pew things have managed to injure him.

'I need to be careful, kill him from afar.' Hades thought grabbing one of the torches on the wall.

The bandit gave him a strange look, 'What is he going to do?'

[Repulsion] Hades threw the torch, [Attraction] and caused it to fly directly into the bandit's face.

AGRAAA! "MY EYES! EYES!" the bandit cried in pain as the flames burned his eyes and face.

Hades took the chance to rush and finish him with a [Repulsion] punch.

{Favor: 1350/1600 => Favor: 1450/1600}

Hades is leveling up pretty quickly, but the significant power-ups are the abilities. Which one do you think he will get first?
