Rising of the Pet System

A young man who was a slave for as long as he remembers finally gets set free into the world by a powerful devil as her servant. As named by her, he took Hades as a name and a way of life. As her hellhound unleashed on the world, she gave him a contract. The more he sacrifices for her, the more power she will grant him. What to expect? The world of Alseria is a ruthless world so don’t expect people to be just after power or be evil for the sake of evil. Each villain I wrote has a legitimate reason for his action, and by legitimate I mean something good. The MC: He isn’t a good guy neither he is evil. He just wants to get by, and occasionally ends up causing a disaster. His sense of morality isn’t like other people’s due to his upbringing and this story is about him trying to be normal. The MC Powers: He has abilities granted to him by the system, not magic. Even though magic exists and is prominent in the world, our MC doesn’t have the patience to sit and learn it. By the end game, he will have a total of ten powerful abilities (Which are addressed in the ten-chapter prologue) I decided to take the HP, MP, and SP from the system concept since they aren’t good indicators of physical capabilities. Instead, I exchanged them for visual indicators, like if the MC is stabbed in the chest, his health is probably too low to stand. I will keep a review so you can contact me easily.

Gabrielle joins the team II

"I understand, if that's what you think is best then I don't mind." Gabriella stood with a smile on her face. She looked toward the wooden door and then back at Hades. "If you feel better, can we head to our house?"

Hades stared at her for a moment, he could understand that she wasn't with Eva and Hades so he cocked his head and glared at her. "We're going to Eva's house, right?" That was supposed to be a question.

Gabriella smiled and bowed slightly, "As you say, we will stay at Eva's house. I will make the arrangements." She quickly left the room.

On her way out she met Eva and Cael who were going to see Hades. "Evangeline Ginis, I dealt with my father for the time being. There shouldn't be any problems from now on."

"For real?" Cael couldn't believe that the Lord has calmed this quickly. Raymond Gamorian was known as a warlord who had more anger than patience in his blood.

"Eva is enough, thank you for covering us up." Eva bowed and pushed Cael's head down. Even after everything, she was still a noble that serve the Gamorian ruling family.

Gabriella smiled, "No need for formalities, will be living together after all."

Those words caused the air to stop moving, silence feel as if Eva's mind needed more time to process what she heard. Gabriella, the high priest which whom they had bad blood is now going to live with them?

"How is that possible?" Eva gasped. "No way!" Cael took a step away, he wanted nothing to do with the responsibility of keeping Gabriella safe.

"It's already been decided," Gabriella said with a smile (A lie, she will convince her father later to convince Eva's father to make the arrangements), "Please do get me a nice room…no, a simple room with a bed, a desk and cabinet will be for the best."

She walked ahead and patted Eva on the shoulder, "See you this evening."

In the Ginis mansion

Later that day, Eva heard a knocking at the door. She slowly walked downstairs and saw a maid approach the door.

"I will open the door…" Eva stopped the maid, she could guess who was behind the door. Probably a whole army accompanying Gabriella. Even Lord Raymond might have come as well.

Eva's father William and her mother Clara (Clara Lawrence) were visiting the Goldrest family (Gabriella's mother's family for business). Her brother Alen was in another city doing his things so she was left to lead.

She nervously grabbed the door's handle, took a look behind and the maid rushed to prepare something for the guests.

CRACK! Eva slowly opened the door.

Gabriella was standing there wearing plate armor and with a longsword at her waist. Only one soldier stood behind her carrying two heavy-looking bags.

"Where the rest?" Eva gasped…quickly looking behind them.

"It's only me, who else is coming?" Eva cocked her head to the side and asked with a blank face.

"Huh…" Eva gasped again…what is this girl talking about?

"Where is Hades?" Gabriella asked taking a few steps inside and staring down the hallway.

Eva turned around, "He's in the training ground with Cael, probably training or something…" She honestly didn't know what they were doing, they could be in a patrol for all she know.

Gabriella smiled and turned to face the knight behind her. "Leave the bags here, the maid will pick them up. Thank you for your efforts."

The knight gently laid the bags on the ground, he then faced Gabriella. "Lady Gabriella, are you sure that you don't need any guards?" He asked.

"Yes, I don't need any," Gabriella replied with a smile.

"No, she needs them," Eva said from behind her and Gabriella gave her a sad look.

Eva's eyebrow twisted as she glared at Gabriella, "We're not taking responsibility for your safety, do you know what will happen if you got even a scratch?" With Raymond's attitude, that would mean someone is going under the axe.

"That won't be a problem anymore." Gabriella banged her armor, "I took the path of a knight. Even getting stabbed now won't be a big deal." She smiled.

"No that would be a problem…" Eva was about to yell when a loud sound interrupted her.

Ding! Dang! Ding! Dang! The bells at the gate were ringing, a monster have been sighted nearby.

…Outside the wall, close to the watch tower. A soldier ran across the green field crying, blood trailing behind him.

"Where did it go?" he cried looking behind, he could see nothing. Everything seemed peaceful, yet no birds chirped, and the scent of blood filled the air.

"Don't look behind! Hurry and enter!" An archer that was standing on top of the watch tower aimed with his bow and yelled. "That thing is hiding in the trees, the moment you see him you will die!"

"I know!" The soldier kept running as fast as he could.

Two knights approached the soldier with a piece of cloth and some oil, "Should we do it?" One of them said with a terrified face.

"Don't know yet, we have to confirm it was it. Otherwise, it won't be worth the risk of burning the forest." The archer replied.

The two soldiers gulped down, this monster is the one they fear the most. The last time it attacked, hundreds of soldiers died at its hand. They could still remember it feasting on the corpses under the moon.

The soldier finally reached the door and leaped inside, those inside closed the door and rushed toward him with a medical kit.

One helped him take the armor off and the other cleaned his wounded arm with alcohol and wrapped it.

As the soldier growled in pain, he looked up "Did you call for reinforcements?"

"We did send the red signal the moment we expected it to be him. We can't take chances with such a being." One of them replied sharpening his blade.

"You intended to fight him?" the wounded soldier asked.

The soldier sharpening his blade glared at him with a terrified face, "What do you expect me to do then? Just stand and die? This shitty job, I'm quitting if I survived this." He growled with a sore face.

"We aren't paid enough to deal with this," Another one looked down.

"For real, we can't even pay for healing if we got severely injured." Another one giggled in sadness.

A normal soldier was paid around 40~50 silver coins a month, that was enough for a good living but not enough to cover healing in the church.

----------------------------------

{14 copper coin = 1 $}

{A single loaf of bread = 1 copper coin= 0.0714 $}

{1 Platinum coin= 100 gold coins} = 71.428 $

{1 Gold coin= 100 silver coins} = 714.28 $

{1 Silver coin= 100 copper coin} = 7.14 $

----------------------------------

As the soldier was talking, they heard the archer shout from the top. "Got visual, it's him! Get ready!"

Those words send chills down their spines. Not one of them wanted to move. All of them had been praying all of this was but a mistake.

The archer aimed his bow with sweat dripping from his arms. At the forest edge, the bushes slowly moved, and the horrendous monster appeared.

A small puppy with fluffy white hair happily strolled out and stared at the watch tower. "Woof!"

He's finally here.
