Rising of the Bow hero

What if in the rising of the shield hero, the bow hero wasn't a total douche?? That would be cool I think. And that's what this story is!!!

Chapter 3

Jax found a food stall and used some of the money he received from the king to buy food. He still had tons considering he didn't even pay for a room at the inn last night.

Jax wandered around while finishing his dinner/breakfast when he saw a certain store.

He entered the weapons shop without a second thought. A large gruff man with scars on his face was standing at the desk looking upset.

"What's got you so down big guy?" Jax asked as he walked up to the man Even though the guy was sitting down he was still taller than Jax.

"Hmm? A customer? I didn't notice you come in!" The weapons shop man replied.

Jax scratched his cheek, he forgot to turn off his stealth skill… he wasn't used to having to turn it off, in his old world he would just stop being stealthy…

Well, anyway! He turned off the skill and looked at the shop owner who was now beaming ear to ear.

'What a funny guy.' Jax thought.

"So what are you here to buy?" The shop owner asked.

"Since I'm here… can I try on gauntlets?"

The shop owner grabbed some and handed them to Jax, who put them on and prepared to be shocked by his bow.

However, nothing happened. Jax smiled. "So this is allowed…"

"What did you say?" The shop owner asked.

Jax chuckled. "Nothing, nothing. Hey, geezer. Can I get a customer order? I want-"

Jax went on to explain what he wanted.

The shop owner thought for a moment. "It's certainly strange, but it's not impossible. I'll need a bit of time… and it'll cost ya."

Jax chuckled. "Of course it will. Anyway, for now can I get some light armour, ah, and do you have any bow's?"

The shopkeeper raised an eyebrow. "I have some in the back, but they are pricey…"

Jax tossed the bag of silver coins the king gave him on the table.

"I'll be right back." The shopkeeper left for a moment and returned a little later.

He had three bows in his arms. "This black one here is made from darkness type monsters. They are very rare monsters. They might not be strong but because of their high stealth they are hard to hunt. This blue bow is made from Filolial femurs and the string thread from their feathers. It's a bit cheaper than the other two but it is still premium. And finally, this is a magic bow, if you put magical powers into when you shoot it can summon arrows from your quiver or shoot an arrow made of your magic power. This is by far the strongest… but it's just as expensive."

Jax looked over the bows and thought for a while before grabbing the black bow and picking it up.

Suddenly his bow glowed red and the black bow disappeared.

"Ah… fuck. I forgot that would happen…"

The old shopkeeper was staring with his mouth agape, then he laughed. "Hahaha! The legendary bow hero! What an honour."

Jax chuckled and lifted his hood, revealing his face. "I guess that means it's free. Since it was a faulty product that disintegrated the moment I touched it. Right?"

"Hahahaha! You wish! That's 400 silver!"

Jax clicked his tongue. "That's 80% of the money I got from the king!"

"It's an expensive bow!" The shopkeeper laughed.

Jax slammed down a bag of silver on the table. "Fine then the armour is included in that!"

The shopkeeper laughed. "Fine, fine. But your special order is different. I expect even more than 400 silver with what you asked for."

Jax was genuinely shocked. Where would he get that money? The loot from everything he hunted would probably be like 20 silver! He worked hard for that too!

Jax paused and smiled. "Do you know where the guy who rips people off for monster parts is?"

"That old guy? He's right around the corner."

Jax walked away and put his hood back up. "If I bring the materials I expect a discount!"

20 minutes later, Jax returned. He tapped his bow on the counter and couple monster parts fell on the counter. "Use whatever you want and keep the rest."

Then Jax pulled out a small piece of metal from his pocket. "I also found this stashed away in his… ahem. I happened to find this in the middle of the street. My gut told me it was valuable because it was hidden away in his drawer…ahem. My gut told me it was valuable cause it was shiny."

The shopkeeper laughed. "Hahahaha! You really just stole this?! And it's mythril too! Too bad it's such a small amount… I could make a national treasure out of this if it was enough for armour."

Jax laughed. "I think it's the perfect amount for what I want done."

The shopkeeper laughed again. "You're certainly a creative kid. Come back in a week."

Jax nodded and thanked the man before getting ready to leave. He paused a moment before he left. He turned around and tossed a bag back to the shopkeeper.

It had 200 silver in it and was half the money he stole from the monster dropping trader. "Give half of this to the shield guy next time he comes in. The other half is yours so keep your mouth shut. You never met me."

The shopkeep caught it and turned serious. "You do know what they are saying about the shield boy right? About what he did to his party member…"

Jax looked shocked. "What?! That pervert? No way! He would never!"

"But you just called him a-"

Jax shushed the shopkeeper. "I was there last night. Nothing happened."

He walked out of the shop without another word. Leaving the shopkeeper to think.
