Jax looked them up and down. "Excuse me, you're in the way."
The two didn't budge. Jax looked up at the stances of them and sighed. "At least the sword douche trained a bit. What have you been doing?"
"What did you just call me!?" Ren asked.
Jax waved his hand. "My bad. Sword hero. I get confused sometimes. Anemia or something. Anyway, what are you guys doing?"
Motoyasu had a fire lit in his eyes. "What are we doing? We've been leveling up! The real question is what have you been doing! All your party members abandoned you and joined us because you refused to go hunting!"
Jax scratched his cheek. "Well, technically I never refused…"
Ren huffed. "We're just here to tell you to stay out of our way! You're just like Naofumi! I can't believe we got two duds. After this wave you better start leveling up or I'm gonna-"
Jax's eyes sharpened. "Or you're gonna what?" He asked coldly.
Ren gulped unwillingly. "Or I'll kick your ass! We need the three heroes to beat the game!"
Jax sighed. "You moron. This isn't a game. Besides, I think you need to get yourself a royal tutor. You can't even count to four."
Jax continued walking by them but Myne clung to Motoyasu and complained. "You can't just let him go like that!"
Motoyasu suddenly had an epiphany as he put his spear in front of Jax to block his path. "I can't just let you go." He said seriously. "This isn't how a hero should act. I heard you've been spending the last two weeks enjoying a maiden you found on the streets. While rescuing a cute girl is admirable, you need to level up too."
Jax took a deep breath. "Spear douche, shut up. Please. Also, train for once in your life. Or you're gonna die, remember this isn't a fucking game."
Jax pushed the spear aside and continued walking while ignoring the insults he heard.
When he was near the exit he turned back to face everyone. "Oh and just so you don't misunderstand, I haven't even kissed the girl in my room. We aren't like that."
Jax then flipped them off and walked out.
He returned home and sighed. "Why are they such morons? Maybe I really should just let them all die."
Liv poked out her head. "Exactly! Genocide is the answer!"
Jax rubbed his forehead and shoved her head out of the way. "I forgot you were a maniac for a moment."
Liv knocked on her own head and smiled. "Teehee!"
Jax sat down and rolled his eyes. "Maybe I should get a new party member…"
Liv glared at him. "Then you would be responsible for my rage and the death of millions."
Jax sighed. "Go Liv! You're the best! I never want anyone else in my party!"
Liv giggled and Jax chuckled as they sat down next to each other and waited for the wave.
After a few hours the timer hit 0 and a bright light flashed around the two hooded heroes. They were teleported mid air and the two landed on their feet next to Naofumi and a large girl with raccoon ears. Ren and Motoyasu both face planted along with half their parties.
Jax stifled a laugh and looked around. He saw the two heroes run off towards the boss while Naofumi took off towards the village with his slave. Jax turned around and saw Vick along with 4 other experienced looking knights and mages.
"Vick, you guys protect the village and support the shield hero. Saving citizens is your first priority. We're going to kill the boss quickly." Jax said and without even waiting for a response he shot off towards the crack with Liv in tow.
The two arrived to see hordes of undead monsters swarming from the crack along with one giant gray troll with a club.
Jax instantly started firing shots and made a wall of fire with the corpses of undead he killed. The monsters that survived his onslaught were wary of the fire and slowed their approach.
Liv had already approached the boss monster. The 15 foot tall troll swung it's club downward only to be parried by her sword. The club lodged itself in the ground and Liv swung her sword at its right leg, cleanly cutting off its foot and toppling it to the floor.
Jax had encircled the hoard of smaller monsters in a wall of fire and was currently in the middle tearing them apart with his claws.
Just then the rest of the heroes arrive to see a cloaked figure in the middle of a circle of fire shredding monsters at an insane pace and another cloaked figure standing face to face with the boss monster that had been brought to its knees and could no longer wield its weapon.
The two heroes wasted no time attacking the boss in fear of missing out on exp. No one bothered to attack the few monsters who had escaped and were on the way to the village, let alone the ones who made it there before Jax and Liv had arrived at the scene.
Within a moment the boss monster was defeated and a timer appeared in front of Jax to signal the close of the wave. However, monsters continued to come from the crack as it slowly closed. Jax and Liv continuously fought the monsters until every last one of them were ashes, torn to pieces or frozen solid.
Jax and Liv walked to the village without even talking to the rest of the heroes. They were still confused about the identity of the two strangers. It wasn't hard to guess who it was if you thought for two seconds, but they were idiots…
Jax had already collected a piece of the troll into his bow, unfortunately he didn't get a new bow, but he did get one from some of the skeletons and undead monsters he killed. It was a skeleton bow made of bones.
Jax laughed when he saw this. "Yohohohoho!"
Liv looked at him weirdly and he coughed. "Ahem. Nevermind."
