Good first impression

After they left the cafeteria, they walked out of the building and went onto the side of the lawn in which a blue glow appeared on the wall and a door opened then they opened it and came to a huge opened field in which the arena was located directly in the center of it.

Why does everything have to be so big and well dangerous?" she asked.

'Well this kingdom is one of the largest amongst the eight and really fancy so it's expected" Jack responded as they entered the arena and her eyes widened when she saw big it was from within that outside, it can hold thousands of people at one or probably more, there were fancy training gears and a lot more that Seraphine would love to try out.

"Guys come on," a guy said and they followed him onto another half of the arena separated by yearly students and she was a last year so their training was different even harsh despite being girls.

"I am one of the instructors, Sam today we will be working with a sword, let's see how well you are, and oh new girl," he said and she looked at him.

"Do you know how to handle a sword?" he asked.

"Yes I can" she responded and he smiled.

'Nice what's your name?" he asked.

'Seraphina" she responded and he threw her a sword and she caught it then there it back to him and he smiled as he held into it.

'Can I choose my own sword?" she asked.

"Yes" he responded as she looked at the sword holders and grabbed a silver sword with a golden dragon on the handle then the instructor scoffed.

"Can you handle it?" he asked as she swing it around.

'Sure I can, thank you" she responded.

"I already like you, let's see what you got," he said and she smiled.

'Hold on" the prince said as he came and she downed her head then he sighed.

"Do you want to choose someone to fight with or should we do it for you?" the prince asked.

'Choose" she responded and he smiled wickedly.

'Want to be my opponent?" the prince asked and her eyes widened and everyone gasped.

"No thanks" she responded and he sighed.

'I was kidding, but want to tell me why you refused?" he asked and she folded her cuffs as he stared at her.

'I…" she stuttered and he sighed.

"Look up at me," he said and Jack patted her on the shoulder and she looked at him as he leaned in towards her and laced his lips by her ear.

"Relax and talk to him, he won't bite" he whispered then raised back up and she smiled then looked at the prince and his eyes widened as she smiled.

"I heard a lot about you, you are a great warrior, that's pretty obvious and I know my skill set, if I fight against you I will be badly hurt and I will lose, I am confident about that your highness," she said and he walked up to her then patted her on the shoulder and her eyes widened.

'Well choose your partner Seraphina" he said and she looked at Jack the pointed her sword at him and he laughed.

"I choose Jack," she said.

'I accept" he replied as they stood before each other then bowed.

"I am not going to hurt you," he said and she scoffed.

'I will hurt you" she replied and he laughed as he lunged at her and she dodged him.

'She is fast" the prince thought.

'You really are fast" he said as he struck her tie on her uniform and she smiled then twirled on her toes as he was about to attack her and she blocked his attack with her sword then spun around kicking him to the ground and he coughed as she turned around and looked at him smiling then pointed her sword to his neck and he looked up at her.

"You lose," she said then put away the sword and brought forth her hand and he grabbed onto her then she pulled him up and everyone clapped.

'Do you still accept?" Jack asked.

"Yes" she responded and he hugged her then she sighed and raised him up.

'You are a crazy being" she said and he laughed as they moved away for the others to train.

'I guess I made the right choice to be your master, we will be having one on one sessions soon and if you are good enough I will do a recommendation for you to graduate with the highest honors" the prince said and she smiled then bowed to him and he looked at her sternly.

"You are my student, you don't have to bow every time, I will see you soon," the prince said then left and she sighed in relief.

'Did I make a good impression?" she asked.

'You slayed it, you did well for your first day here Seraphina" Jack responded and she smiled.

'Thank you, Jack, at first I thought you and I would be at odds but I was wrong" she said and he smiled.

'Don't worry about it, it's an impression I am quite used to by now" he replied as they sat down where the audience would sit whenever there was a competition.

"Your friends are pretty skilled," she said.

'Yeah we spent a lot of time training what about you?" he asked.

"What about me?" she asked.

'Where did you come from?" he asked as she swallowed deeply as she remembered why she came to this kingdom and it was not to join the academy for she had an ulterior motive.

"I am from a place really far from here" she responded with a frown.

'Is it a bad place?" he asked.

'No it's just a place not meant for ordinary people" she responded then sighed and he patted her on the shoulder as her hair fell in front of her face and her eyes glowed bright red.
