Chapter 21: A Surprise in Training

Matthew arrived at the senior team's training ground, his heart racing with excitement and nerves. This was his first training session with the senior team, and he was determined to make a good impression.

As he changed into his gear, Matthew couldn't help but feel a little intimidated. The senior players were all seasoned professionals, with years of experience under their belts. He, on the other hand, was just a young player from the youth team.

But as he took to the pitch, Matthew's nerves began to settle. He focused on the drills, listening intently to Coach Finidi's instructions and following the lead of the senior players.

At first, the senior players seemed to be taking it easy on him. They nodded and smiled as he struggled to keep up with the pace of the training session. But as the session wore on, Matthew began to surprise them.

His speed and agility were evident from the start, but it was his skill and vision on the pitch that really caught their attention. He was making passes and taking shots that the senior players hadn't expected from a young player like him.

Coach Finidi's eyes narrowed as he watched Matthew in action. He had seen something special in the young player, and now he was seeing it again. Matthew was a natural, and he had a hunger for the game that was infectious.

As the training session came to a close, the senior players gathered around Matthew, grinning and clapping him on the back. "Welcome to the team, kid," one of them said, with a nod of respect.

Coach Finidi approached Matthew, a smile on his face. "You know, Matthew, I think you're going to fit in just fine around here."

Matthew beamed with pride, feeling like he was on top of the world. He had proven himself in his first senior team training session, and he knew that he was ready for whatever came next.
