The next day, early in the morning:
Henry had gotten up early, unable to sleep well due to the previous night's incident. Even though he was still feeling sleepy, he knew he had to make some arrangements before meeting the person who called him the previous night.
He finished his morning routine, brushing his teeth, taking a bath, and getting dressed. He had a class starting at 10 am, so he gathered all the necessary study materials, packed them into his bag, and slung it over his shoulder. He planned to go straight to class after his business was done.
As he descended the stairs, he saw Lucy already up and busy cleaning the floor with her vacuum cleaner. She always woke up early to keep the house in order.
Lucy noticed Henry coming down, fully dressed with his bag on his back, and asked in a surprised tone, "Henry, you're up so early and already ready! Are you going somewhere this early in the morning?"
Henry replied, "Aunt, I have a meeting with someone today."
Lucy, still surprised, asked, "A meeting with someone this early in the morning?"
Henry replied, "No, Aunt, the meeting is in the evening, but I want to prepare something for him beforehand. So, I got up early to make arrangements before I go to the university."
Lucy asked again, "But I don't think any shop is open this early in the morning. Even if you want to make arrangements, you will find no one this early. Besides, what about your breakfast? Wait a few minutes, and I will quickly prepare something for you to eat."
Feeling Lucy's concern warmed Henry's heart. He replied, "Thank you for your kindness, Aunt, but there's no need for breakfast. I'll grab something on the way. Besides, I'm not going to any shop. I'm actually going to meet one of my friends who will help me with the arrangements. And also, Aunt, I'll have dinner outside, so no need to prepare dinner for me as well. I'll be going now. Goodbye."
Lucy nodded in understanding. "Alright, take care, Henry. Goodbye."
Henry smiled and nodded, then walked out of the house. The early morning air was crisp and refreshing, and he took a deep breath as he made his way down the street
Around 9:30 am at Georgie's House:
Georgie was sprawled across his bed, snoring loudly while a small pool of drool formed on the pillow beside his open mouth. The door to his room knocked several times, but Georgie, lost in a deep slumber, did not stir. After a moment of silence, the person on the other side of the door hesitated before pushing it open and stepping inside.
The intruder was cloaked in a long, hooded garment that concealed their entire body, including gloved hands. The figure's presence added a mysterious air to the room. As the cloaked person approached the bed, he called out in a raspy, gravelly voice, "Young master, young master, it's almost time for your class. Get up."
Georgie, still deep in his dreams, did not react. The cloaked man, undeterred, stepped closer and placed a gloved hand on Georgie's shoulder, shaking him gently at first, then more firmly. "Young master, wake up. Young master, wake up," he repeated urgently.
Finally, Georgie's eyes fluttered open, and he groggily took in the sight of the hooded figure looming over him. Shock jolted him fully awake, and he instinctively shoved the man away, cursing, "You old disgusting bastard, why are you in my room? Didn't I tell you never to come into my room, or even show yourself to me?"
When Georgie pushed the hooded man away, the man stumbled and fell to the ground. He quickly scrambled to his feet, but in the process, the hood covering his head slid back, revealing his face. The sight was enough to send a shiver down anyone's spine.
The man had a very old face, his skin a deep, dark shade. But his age and skin color were not the most striking features. What immediately caught anyone's attention was the horrifying state of his face. Half of it was covered in severe burn marks, the skin grotesquely deformed and twisted. The other half, though not deformed, was equally disturbing, with large, inflamed bumps from which white pus oozed.
His scalp had only a few sparse tufts of white hair, each strand stark against the dark, damaged skin. These patches of hair could be counted on two hands, and they did little to cover the numerous bumps and boils that oozed pus. The burn marks extended over half of his head, making the overall appearance even more unsettling. It was a face that evoked both horror and disgust, a living testament to the man's suffering and resilience.
The man quickly pulled his hood back up, hiding his face as soon as he realized it had fallen. He was acutely aware of how his appearance affected others, and even he felt disgusted when he saw his own reflection. He didn't take Georgie's cursing to heart, despite being much older. He understood his place in the household: he was a servant, and Georgie was the master. If Georgie's father hadn't taken pity on him many years ago, he might have ended up begging on the streets for food.
The man, still maintaining his respectful demeanor, said, "Young master, I'm sorry, but I only came here to wake you up since you have classes at 10:00 AM."
Georgie, still in a foul mood, snapped, "Why did you come to my room? Didn't I say that I feel disgusted seeing you? Besides, where is Linda, Jack, or the other servants? Are they all dead?"
The man replied respectfully, "Young master, all of them are out performing duties that the master has ordered. None of them could come up to wake you. That is why I had to come."
Georgie, his voice dripping with annoyance, said, "Okay, okay, I understand. Now get out of my room."
The man nodded and replied, "Yes, young master. Your breakfast is already served in the dining room." With that, he silently left the room, making sure to close the door gently behind him.
