Revoked Player

"I don't want to die like this..." Rigel's trembling voice because of the mix of emotions that ran through his mind, lying in the middle of a desolate street, his gaze fixed on the ominous creatures soaring through the sky. "My whole life has been a nightmare. It has been relentless, and now, dying like a rat..." he continued, his body trembling from broken limbs as he fought to endure the excruciating pain. As Earth faced an unprecedented cataclysm, overrun by nightmarish creatures, mythical demons, and unending chaos, salvation arrived in the form of the enigmatic [Player System] Selected individuals, known as [Players] were granted the power to confront these monstrous threats. Their journey towards strength began within mysterious towers scattered across the globe, where they endured trials orchestrated by an inscrutable system. However, for Rigel, destiny took a cruel turn as he aspired to become the hero of his own life. The system deemed him unworthy, stripping him of his [Player] status and casting him back to Earth, now a world overrun by monsters. Survival became an unrelenting struggle, and death lurked at every corner. Yet, he clung to life, enduring 5 long years that felt like an eternity. In the end, he couldn't escape death and he was standing in front of the death's door. "If there's anyone... anyone that can hear my pain, please grant me a wish..." Rigel's voice weakened as his eyes started to shut off. "I want the world to feel my pain..." He said as he started to lose consciousness. Suddenly, darkness enveloped him, transporting him to a forbidden and forgotten pocket of reality. "I will grant your wish. I will take you back to where it all began," a soothing woman's voice whispered into Rigel's ear. "But what can you offer in exchange for this wish?" Her words sent shivers down Rigel's spine. "Everything. I will give you everything," Rigel responded, his determination unwavering, even in the face of the unknown abyss. "Rigel Eclair DeMargt. I want your soul and your body..." The woman's voice carried a sinister tone, and Rigel could almost sense the grin on her face. "I will make you invincible, immune to death's touch. In return, the more you faced death, the less of you would remain, yet you would grow stronger," her words were chilling, yet strangely comforting. "I don't care..." Rigel declared with unwavering determination. "Then follow my voice, and you will have your wish granted," The woman's voice was going away from Rigel's ear. Rigel opened his eyes and realized that people were murmuring around him, their gaze fixed on a coffin placed inside a freshly dug grave. "I've returned..." Rigel furrowed his eyebrows as he observed the scene before him—the final resting place of his mother that happened five years ago. "And today is the day everything begins," he looked at the sky as he clenched his fists.

Chapter 61: Under attack.

"Esra!" Leid screamed to warn Madam that the city was under attack.

Leid walked out of the building and immediately got attacked by 3 assassins, but he blocked their attacks with his vembraces. He let out a Primal Roar, pushing all the assassins away from him so he could grab his greatsword.

The 1st Finger and the remaining Fingers guarded the building since their mission was to bring Rigel to Checil. Although that was their mission, they couldn't handle all the assassins on their own, and their lives were at risk.

Leid coated his greatsword with Mana which had turned into Aura. He could single-handedly deal with 5 assassins because of his armor. His attacks were so deadly that the assassins didn't dare to take the fight lightly.

He looked at the Masquerades that were supposed to guard the tower. He realized they were fighting against each other and knew something wasn't right. He looked at assassins butchering all the Players that tried to join the fight and saw some of the assassins moved from one roof to another.

The Fingers that were protecting the building had been killed and their bodies were lying on the entrance. The assassins entered the building to retrieve Rigel, but not long after they entered, they were killed because Madam was guarding the door. The Dragon's Aura immobilized the assassins, so she could easily kill them.

"Fuck this..." Madam entered the room and planned to kill Rigel because she thought if she couldn't have him, then they wouldn't have him as well.

Madam swung her sword at Rigel's neck, but Aria jumped down from the ceiling and blocked her attack. Aria didn't hesitate to transform his body into a massive bear and bit Madam's body as he dragged her outside the room.

Leid who was busy killing the assassins heard a glass shattering from the building. He turned around and saw Madam flying and landing not far from him. He saw a bear who had just destroyed the wall and roared at Madam.

He didn't have time to worry about Madam because his hands were full. He was annoyed that no matter how many assassins he had killed, more of them came as if they were endless. He had enough of it and activated Rage, boosting his stats by 5 times.

He swung his greatsword and it created a projectile attack that destroyed anything that blocked its path. His speed was too much to handle for the assassins, so they retreated and waited until his skill ran out. With that opportunity that he got, he ran toward the bear and swung his sword on its neck.

Before his massive sword could cut the bear's neck, a sword blocked his sword. Arnel blocked the attack with everything he had, but unfortunately, the sword shattered since it was no match for Leid's sword. It was enough for Aria to charge at Madam since his target was her in the first place.

Leid looked at Arnel in his muddy armor and he was annoyed by the fact his attack was blocked by someone with that ugly armor. He swung his sword at Arnel over and over, releasing devastating blows that destroyed the buildings. But no matter how fast he swung his sword, Arnel dodged them so easily.

Arnel closed his distance and grabbed Leid's wrist when Leid swung his sword at him. His strength was no match compared to Leid's current state, but it was enough for him to disarm Leid by twisting Leid's left wrist and opening his hand by force.

To Arnel's surprise, Leid wrapped his right hand around Arnel's neck and tried to crush his neck. Arnel grabbed Leid's arm as he tried to loosen up the grip, and then he bent over as he raised his hips, lifting Leid's body and slamming him to the ground.

Arnel grabbed the greatsword and was ready to swing it at Leid's head, but suddenly a cold wind struck his face. His armor got froze in an instant, and it was Madam who released her Chilling Touch skill. Both he and Aria put some distance against her because they were no match for her.

"Thanks for that," Leid stood up and he was unaffected by the cold because of his armor and the system that gave it traits. "It's time for payback," he unsheathed his secondary sword.

Before Madam and Leid could make a move, the ground trembled, and saw cracks in the ground. They saw the pool of blood moving into the cracks and then they felt a threatening presence that made their bodies think it would be wise to run away.

Madam's arms trembled because of that unknown presence even though she had the Dragon's Power. Suddenly a deafening scream made her almost lose consciousness. She saw the buildings get obliterated and flattened to the ground as she saw a wave of sound from the crossroads.

"Get Rigel! Hurry!" Arnel looked at Aria.

"Rigel... so that's his name," Madam muttered. "I'm not going to let you guys have him!" She dashed toward the building with half of it obliterated by that sonic wave.

She thought Arnel would stop her, instead, he took a few steps back. The bright sun that lit the street suddenly got blocked by something. When she looked up, she saw a woman with 3 glowing eyes and her skin as red as blood. Her wings were covered in holes, her long tail like a rat's, and a whip in her left hand that was covered in purple flame.

The woman opened her mouth, showing the blazing flame inside, and then blasted it toward Madam. Madam stopped chasing Aria and took a few steps back as she created a wall of ice to protect herself, but to her surprise, the ice melted.

"What the fuck is that thing?! I have never seen something like that in my whole life inside the tower," Leid's hands were still trembling by that presence. "And we are going to fight it?" He squinted his eyes and wasn't sure if fighting that woman would be a good idea.

"Let's leave..." Madam sheathed her daggers and grabbed Leid's breastplate.

"You 2 are my main dish. Where do you think you're going?" A low woman's voice could be heard in Leid's and Madam's heads. "Your flesh and blood are going to be so delicious..."

Madam and Leid couldn't move their bodies, and then a hand grabbed them like small dolls. They looked over their shoulders and saw the woman's mouth was wide open and ready to swallow them both. They couldn't free themselves and had accepted their deaths in that terrifying creature's hands.

A light in the shape of a hand reached the woman's wrist and grabbed it, cutting the woman's hand. Madam and Leid were freed and their bodies felt so light after they got exposed to that light. They looked at the tower entrance and saw Checil with 20 men behind her wearing masks with a question mark on the mask.

"What a mess..." Checil said as she looked around. "Nyctri, I remembered we banished you from this world a long time ago," she looked at the woman whose hand got cut off but immediately regenerated.

"You have all grown up, Checil..." Nyctri grinned as she stared into Checil's eyes. "I still remember when you begged for your life, pissing yourself as you tried to kiss my foot," she giggled.

Checil stomped her left foot and created a light barrier that kept expanding.

"It was in the past. Now you'll be the one to beg for your life," Checil stared coldly at Nyctri as she kept expanding the light barrier. "I'm not going to let you live this time..." She added, but suddenly she felt the barrier she released got blocked by something.

A light barrier was stopped by a wall of purple barrier that prevented the light barrier from expanding even further.

"Ah, I see... No wonder you're back Nyctri, looks like your master has finally shown herself up..." Checil walked in the middle of the street as the masked Players killed the Masquerades and assassins that got trapped in the light barrier. "The descendant of Artivara, the Witch..." She looked at The Lady standing still and at the purple wall that she had created.

Nyctri landed behind The Lady and shrunk her body to the size of a human body.

"She's strong, but we both can deal with her, Master," Nyctri said as she looked at Checil who was smiling at them both.

"I have prepared something for this scenario..." The Lady said weakly as she hid her face under the hat she wore. "There's still an unfinished business that my mother has, and I'm going to fulfill her wish now," she grabbed her book and opened it.

A skeleton crawled out of the abyss behind The Lady and slowly the bones got covered with nerves, muscles, and flesh. Slowly the skin covered its body until it became the body of a woman, and then a black dress wrapped her pale white skin. At that moment Checil and Nyctri were shocked when they saw the face of the woman next to The Lady.

"Asarti... impossible..." Checil was in disbelief when she saw a beautiful woman with long wavy black hair that touched the ground. Her eyes glowed purple and her purple lips smirked at Checil.

"Master?" Nyctri looked at the woman in front of her.

"Let's settle the score, Checil..." Asarti pulled a staff from thin air and then pointed it at Checil, shattering the light barrier. "You'll pay for what you have done to my people..."
