Developing Organisms

Every story has the beginning; perhaps a criteria of what you may read threw out this painful story. Here are the basics in order for you to comprehend the world we inhabited. Humies fall under the basis of Animal, they are clear herbivores that feed on autotrophs; greens that photosynthesise. Humies come in different shapes, sizes and colours, I was born as a humie, the white humie. We sadly happen to be the weakest out of all of us in our kind.

My mother would tell me the stories of life before the cages, as I laid with her on the moulding hay. "Listen Rosie, not everything is like this..." she would pause and stutter slightly. "I hope... not everything is like this", she'd whisper into my ear as my big blue eyes would look at her tears streaming down her cheek. Me and my mother had a strong bond that I couldn't see around the cages, we would talk about our dreams and what we would do in life outside this horror, "how many kids would you want Rosie?". She had asked me that and It made my thought process function properly, "I think five". When I had answered to her she just gave me a smile and a small chuckle. We had no space to stand and move, we'd just lay and get force fed most of the time whilst listening to the other white humies crying and pain. My legs at this rate where not going to develop properly and so my mother worried for me. We could see auntie Mel across us in the same cage, she would sing to herself gently and our witnesses said something was wrong with her.

After I grew the smallest bit the animals came into our room, mostly pigs that would smell using their unnecessarily large snout. My eyes would close holding my mother tightly pretending to be asleep, however we keep hearing screaming every-time they come inside, and this time my eyes opened fast to a hand holding my arm tightly. My mother in shock she pulled my tighter screaming, "NO DO NOT TAKE HER! NO!". My eyes widened in shock I felt both pulling until the big pig hit my mother in the head hard, "MUM!!!". Crying i reached out my arm to her as he dragged me upside down gripping my ankles together, auntie Mel was being taken as well I could see her vaguely as my vision was blurred from the burning tears in my eyes.

The pig men threw us in a small fenced space where we squished each-other, after gaining some sight rubbing my face I saw a table, a table which looked to the be very shiny like water shiny. They placed Auntie Mel on the table and examined her, my hands held the fence tightly in immense fear. My mind couldn't withhold such sight, 'please don't hurt her' I repeated in my mind constantly. The pig man rubbed Mel's head as she suddenly gained sanity to look up at him, I began to slowly back up feeling my heart race. He lifted her chin as she smiled happily at him, a colour I have never seen before bursted out from her neck as her entire head fell down onto a basket. Mel... her dark hair covered the last smile I saw from her. They proceeded to remove all her limbs, holding another white humie with fear we all huddle together trembling wondering who is going to be next.

The stench got to us, our own kind was destroyed and broken we could do nothing but watch and cry. After many of us got cut and torn, the pig man grabbed me and he saw my eyes. Please no, I repeated to myself, he slammed me down on the shiny table and lifted up his weapon that shun too. Seeing my reflection in the weapon I could see a broken soul who's tears meant nothing this world. Closing my eyes I accepted myself, my end.
