Reborn

Everywhere one's gaze went in outer space, there was only destruction and death. It was pandemonium.

"W-we are doomed." An immortal wept, kneeling down.

"Ahh! Help us, Star Constellation Immortal Venerable!" More immortals screamed. The heavenly court was deteriorating. The once proud and powerful organization; the pillar of righteous path had fallen. The grotto heaven which was its base, was being chipped away.

White starry clouds moved through the spectral heaven, getting assaulted by golden gleaming dust clouds. The former was actually the Star Constellation Immortal Venerable while the latter was the Giant Sun immortal venerable; each using immortal killer moves to harm the other.

Meanwhile the world spun. Not just the heavenly court, but the spectral heaven and the world below; the planets and the stars were all chipping away, melting away slowly. The entire universe seemed to be swirling towards its center where stood a handsome tall man with long flowing black hair and abyssal deep black eyes. This man was the Heaven Refining Demon Venerable- Fang Yuan.

"Stop this, Fang Yuan. Do not be so ruthless! You cannot refine the whole world!" Star Constellation's voice echoed while she battled Giant Sun. "Do not sacrifice all living beings for your futile selfish goal!"

"Hahaha! Even if I were to fail, I still must try." Fang Yuan said. "To obtain immortality, I will refine everything that exists in heaven and the earth. I will refine all mortals and immortals; all the living beings, all grotto heavens and blessed lands. I will refine even Heaven's Will!"

Star Constellation resumed her human form and flew towards Fang Yuan and Giant Sun did the same.

"I won't let you!" Star Constellation screamed, using all of her remaining immortal essence to perform the most powerful killer move.

"No! Don't you dare!" Giant Sun roared and unleashed a luck path and blood path mixed immortal killer move. "Raging Luck Roaring Blood Typhoon!"

Red mist mixed with sparkling golden mist flew at insane speed towards Star Constellation; but spared her and attacked Fang Yuan instead!

"This…" Fang Yuan's eyes dilated. "Betrayal at the last moment? Hmph! Did you think I didn't prepare for such a scenario?"

"Bells of Death Echo in the Frozen Time Endlessly!"

The killer move containing sound path, soul path, time path and rule path was activated, stopping the Raging Luck Roaring Blood Typhoon.

Star Constellation materialized behind Fang Yuan. She had used Giant Sun's killer move as camouflage to creep up behind the former.

"Die with me! Heaven Refining Demon!" She shouted, attacking him with a killer move she had already prepared.

The World Ends, But Not Wisdom!

A wisdom path killer move, accompanied by Star path, borrowing the natural rules of the world. Fang Yuan was struck directly and his vision blanked out at once. He felt that his body had paralyzed! But his mind was still awake.

"Truly a powerful move. But I have a counter!" Fang Yuan's gaze shone with profound wisdom.

At this point, a crack emerged in the spectral heaven.

"Eh?" Everyone looked up. The chaos from outside the boundary of the universe was flooding in!

"That bastard, he did it! He's refined the world enough to thin the spatial boundary. It is now breaking! Everyone will perish before he succeeds!" Giant Sun cussed and rushed towards the abyssal crack, putting his life on the line, and unleashed killer moves to stop the crack from expanding. "No matter what, I cannot let my descendants perish! For that the world must survive! Fang Yuan, my soul will haunt you forever!"

"Ohok!" Star Constellation coughed out blood as her killer move was broken. Fang Yuan had burnt up his wisdom path dao marks to counter her and succeeded. Although the cost was huge. His own dao marks were entirely spent! Fang Yuan immediately felt dizzy and sluggish; even a bit dumb.

"You asked for it, Star Constellation Immortal Venerable." Fang Yuan said darkly. "Please die at my hands."

Heavenly Strength Timeless Fist!

A killer move consisting of heaven, strength and time path was unleashed as point blank.

BOOM! A shockwave streaked across the spectral space and landed on the deteriorating heavenly court, blowing it to bits! Immortals screeched and fled. Some were dead; others badly injured. Gu worms were fleeing everywhere.

Up above, Star Constellation stood dazed with a gaping hole in her torso. Next, her body began to deteriorate into tiny specks of light.

A long black-haired man stared up from a damaged Demon Judgment Hall immortal gu house. This man was tall and lanky with long black hair and an ordinary face. He was a rank 8 gu immortal- Fang Zheng. Fang Yuan's twin brother!

"Fang Yuan…" He uttered. "You've become such a monster. You're really destroying everyone and everything! Even the Venerables cannot stop you. Even Heaven's Will is helpless. Oh, cruel demon, do you really not have a speck of mercy in your heart?"

Fang Zheng had a long history with Fang Yuan. He was the pitiful foolish brother who had suffered at Fang Yuan's hands for decades. His talents were nothing in front of Fan Yuan's wisdom. His determination was nothing in front of Fang Yuan's madness. He was too weak, too foolish, too pitiful.

And yet.

Swoosh! Fang Zheng directly exited the Demon Judgment Hall. A trail of immortal gu worms followed him from the partly dismantling gu house, and entered his immortal aperture.

"Hmm?" Fang Yuan noticed Fang Zheng approaching him and smiled amusingly. "What a surprise; you still have a backbone, foolish brother?"

"I am going to die anyway. I must at last pit my useless life against your monstrosity, brother." Fang Zheng spoke. "Your reverend insanity must end here!"

Immortal gu worms were activated and immortal essence was consumed like kindling in a furnace. A killer move was unleashed. Fang Yuan could have swatted Fang Zheng like a bug a hundred times by now, but his brain was functioning slowly due to the absolute lack of wisdom path dao marks.

"Blood Begets Blood, Death Paints Death!"

Fang Zheng's right hand burst to bits and the blood that splattered out moved in a pattern in accordance with his arm's movements.

"Hmm? Blood path mix painting path? When you learn painting path? When anyone learn-" Fang Yuan could not finish his terribly incorrect sentence. The absolute lack of wisdom dao marks made these thoughts meaningless anyway. But sensing danger, he instinctively used a defensive killer move.

"Too late!" Fang Zheng shouted and fully exploded. His blood and guts splattered upon Fang Yuan, covering him up entirely in a blood cocoon. At this point even some starlight specks flew into the cocoon.

BOOOM! CRACKLE!! The rift in the spectral heaven suddenly enlarged and spread endlessly! The world was really ending!

"AHHHH!!" Giant Sun Immortal Venerable screamed as he was engulfed by the chaos. His death was obvious.

BOOM! Fang Yuan's body exploded. Blood had begot blood. Death had painted death.

Nothing else existed or mattered anymore for either Fang Yuan or Fang Zheng.

"…" Fang Zheng opened his eyes and found himself in a small room. He blinked, wondering what had just happened. He outstretched his intact hands and flexed his fingers, feeling the movement in them.

"I am alive?" He muttered and looked around. His gaze fell upon a mirror that reflected his younger teenager image. "I got reborn into the past!?" He realized.

The darkness of the night was deep, the light of the candlestick was casting an eerie glow upon him.

"Heaven's Will. Star Constellation Immortal Venerable, blood path, Spring Autumn Cicada." Fang Zheng guessed correctly. All of these had arranged and succeeded due to sheer luck for Fang Zheng to be revived into the past when he was just a teenager!

"I've been given a chance to save the world from Fang Yuan!" Fang Zheng thought. "I must not fail!"
