Chapter 27: Eaten up Bit by Bit

The boy just stared at her face without saying anything.

After quite some time, he suddenly sat down on the soft carpet. Then, he took a miniature Rubik‘s Cube out from his pocket and started playing with it. He did not show any intentions of leaving, nor did he pay any attention to Wendy.

Wendy got out of the bed and crouched down in front of the child. She was going to ask him about his parents when a dawning realization hit her abruptly.

"We're in Yale Mansion. Hanson does not like children, and he has never allowed visitors to bring them along to Yale Mansion.

"Thus, the only child who's allowed to wander freely in Yale Mansion could only be the child that Hanson has adopted upon Tanya's request.

"Hanson is really considerate towards Tanya. He's even adopted a child that looks so much like him for Tanya," she thought.

Wendy felt a little resentful as she fixed her gaze on the child's face, "If my daughter were still alive... she would probably be this tall as well.
