Chapter 7

"You could use it to start a business of your own." Stacey continued. she just needed him to get away from from this place.

Hearing Stacey's kind words, Arthur only got annoyed. He wasted two freaking years of his life, and she made him drop out of college. She didn't promise him anything, but he expected something in return from her, and it was definitely not money.

Arthur could feel his heart break more and more, with every second he was in that room with her.

Frowning at Arthur's silence Stacey looked at him with an annoyed and pitiful expression.

"Arthur….you're missing out on a deal of your lifetime…make it two million dollars….I'm trying to help you have a good life here?" Stacey said coldly, maintaining her serious expression.

The least she could do was give him the two million dollars, so he could start his new life. That's what she thought.

Softly chuckling Arthur decided to get something he's been holding after watching the video out of his chest. "You're a cheap person…no decent married woman would spend the night with someone else just cause that someone else is rich…." He paused and looked at her coldly, "And I'm glad I found out about that sooner….."

Stacey's temper shot up, feeling insulted with his sentence, looking at him Arthur with a scowl, Stacey replied sternly, "The video is fa…." She paused and took a deep breath, and decided to change the topic, "I know you have feelings for me…but you know we can't be together….you're useless Arthur."

Instead of convincing him the video is fake, she decided to not tell him the truth. If the moron knows about what's happening he'll fight for her, and that will result in his death.

"How many times did you and Caine do it?" Arthur asked in a serious tone, glaring at her coldly.

Rolling her eyes in irritation, Stacey looked at Arthur with a straight face, and yelled, "Well now you're free, I've given you what you always wanted I've signed the divorce papers, so what do you want now huh?!" Stacey asked, looking at Arthur coldly.

"Now that I know the true you, nothing!" Arthur said, glaring at her, he turned to walk out of the bedroom.

"Goodbye Stacey, and good luck, I wish you and Caine all the best." Arthur said nonchalantly as he exited the bedroom.

Stacey was feeling her heart ache, she couldn't imagine what type of pain his heart is going through, he thinks she cheated him, when really she didn't, the video that Arthur saw was fake.

Arthur, on the other hand, felt the worst pain he has ever felt in his life, he wasted two year of his life on someone, only to be cheated by that person. He couldn't believe Stacey was so cheap. She always refused him as her husband to get close to her, but she allowed someone like Caine to touch her, all because he was rich and he could help put her family on the top?

But he was also happy to finally walk out of this miserable life. He lived like a slave in the Roths' villa.

When Arthur was coming down the stairs there were a lot of faces desperately looking at him, there were like a hundred faces glaring at him and muttering. Stacey's family members were all gathered in the living room, along with Caine's family members.

They all had happy faces when they saw him.

"I think it's done...she finally made him sign the papers," Lawrence, Stacey's father, said with excitement in his voice.

"Finally….this family has no use for a useless son-in-law," Harold Roth, Stacey's grandfather said while glaring at Arthur as he was walking down the stairs.

One of the people Harold despised the most in this world was Arthur, it was no secret that Harold never liked Arthur for leeching off the Roths' family.

"Wow, I can't believe she married a useless man just because he has a pretty face." Someone from the crowd sneered.

"Roth family, your days of misery are finally over…as soon as you marry off Stacey to my son Caine, your family will have a better chance of becoming a top 10 family in Angeles city." An very fat woman, Caine's mom, said with excitement on her face.

"Yeah we know grace and we're very honored to have a chance of becoming your family members." Gwendolyn Roth, said excitedly.

Victoria uttered no word; she was simply staring at Arthur with a sarcastic grin, while carrying a million dollar check in her hands. Stacey asked her to give Arthur a million dollars in return for her signing the divorce papers.

Victoria stepped towards Arthur and smugly stretched her hand to him., While looking away. "Here, trash, take this! You should be thankful we're paying you, for living in our house and enjoying all this luxury."

Faintly smiling, Arthur calmly replied, as he walked out,Ummm….it's too little. Keep it, you might need it someday, Roth family, Duhamel family." Arthur glanced at Stacey as she was timidly coming down the stairs, carrying the divorce papers, staring at him as he walked out.

After Arthur left the house, Harold and everyone sighed in relief.

"Finally, he's gone."

"I thought that useless moron would never leave this house."

Mrs Gwendolyn gave Stacey a look, and smiled at her, and gave her a hug, "I'm so proud of you." .

Hugging back Stacey replied: "Thank you grandma." She felt like crying for a reason she didn't even know, all she knew was that she was feeling awful right now.

When Arthur stepped outside of the Villa, Caine waited for him outside with 5 muscular guys, in fancy suits, carrying baseball bats in their hands.

Seeing that Arthur shivered a little, not because he was afraid of being beat up, but because he knew he might do something crazy.

'I'm not in the mood for this,' Arthur thought, trying to ignore Caine and just go.

But Caine gripped his hand. "Where do you think you're going, Mr…Arthur, Roth?" He mockingly asked, exaggerating the last word.

"That's none of your business." Arthur replied nonchalantly, aggressively retracting his arm.

Slowly unbuttoning his shirt Caine gestured to his men to get ready to stomp Arthur. "You know I've been wondering…umm...What is your real last name? Surely you can't keep using my future wife's last name, she doesn't want you, buddy." Caine mocked.

Arthur was at a loss of words, cause no matter how tough Arthur was, he couldn't deny the fact that Stacey didn't want him, Caine was right.

"You want to know my last name?" Arthur knew Caine would be shocked to know his last name, in fact everyone would be shocked.

"Actually no, I don't care who you are." Caine nodded to the security guards, the guys stepped forward and started hitting Arthur with the bats. 'I deserve this for allowing someone to take me for a fool.' Arthur thought, gritting his teeth, no even once thinking of retaliating.

Seeing Arthur fall to the ground, Caine joined in and they kicked him in the stomach l, after some time Caine stopped, and he told the guys to stop too. He didn't want Arthur to die, as that would only bring him problems.

Arthur was beaten to a pulp, he almost passed out.

Caine spat on Arthur, "I want him to live, so he can remember what happened today."

Panting, Arthur tried to get up while glaring at Caine, "I'll make you regret this Caine," Arthur threatened, clenching his fists.

Damn does he not know the mess he is in? What if Caine does not take the threat lightly and he decides to do something bad to him.

"Yes sure, I'm looking forward to that day." Caine replied, smiling bitterly at Arthur, Caine nodded to his men to get in the car, and they got in the car.

Meanwhile in the Roth Villa.

Harold was signing a contract, it was Caine and Stacey's marriage contract.

"Finally, our family will advance to the next level," Harold said excitedly, seated on the sofa. Sitting next to him was Mrs Gwendolyn, his wife, it was visible in her eyes that she was happy.

Stacey was seated on the stairwell, with a rather sad face. She was not understanding her emotions right now. Perhaps she made a mistake by letting Arthur go? But it's better to let him go, so he can live insults and bullying free.

Seeing Stacey's rather sad expression, Harold was sick to his stomach, was she being sad because that nobody left?

"Stacey! Get yourself here!" Harold ordered Stacey, snapping her out of her thoughts.

Stacey glanced at her grandmother and grandfather and then she shifted her gaze to Caine's mom and dad, (Mr and Mrs Duhamel), and then she turned to her mom, with a pleading expression on her face.

"Does it have to be Caine?....He's a player, and he doesn't have a good attitude towards women. He changes women every other week so I don't want him."
