Chapter 44: Stranded
"I did not know there was someone here. I knocked on the door, but no one answered." Wang Wen threw the hammer away and raised her hands to make herself look harmless.
The gunman at the stairway did not show his head. He said in a muffled voice, "You think you can break through the window just because no one answered?"
Wang Wen thought for a moment.
He said innocently, "I was too hungry. I'm sorry. I'll leave right away."
The gunman did not say anything more. He pointed the muzzle to show his consent.
Wang Wen slowly bent down, dragged the hammer, and slowly retreated. He climbed out the window again.
It was not until he stood outside the window and found a cover that he shouted, "Are you stranded? Is there anything you need help with?"
The gunman inside was silent for a moment. He said coldly, "I don't understand what you're saying. Leave immediately, or I'll shoot."
