Chapter 5

The moon was shining bright in the night sky. I was jogging home to improve my stamina. While I was passing a forest I heard a voice in my head.

"M-mortal, c-come here"

The voice started echoing in my head and I felt a sudden urge to enter the forest. As soon as I set foot in the forest,my mind went blank and I lost control of my body . It was like I had been hypnotised by that voice.I ventured deep into the forest mindlessly like I was a puppet on strings.

As I came out of the trees my jaw dropped….

What stood before me was a white portal! The one that gives you priceless artifacts without monsters!

I entered the portal and what was on the other side was unreal.

I was in a pearl white castle above the clouds…. Almost like heaven

I regained some control of my body but I was feeling a bit dizzy.

"Mortal, walk down the hallway, to the throne room"

The stuttering had stopped, was the source of the voice closer now?

As I was walking down the red-carpeted hallway towards 2 massive doors I felt a very strong presence behind them. Was the artifact there?. My heart was racing faster and faster with each step I took. When I was a few metres away from that door all my instincts kicked in and it was like my life was being sucked out of my body, each step felt like an eternity.When i reached the doors, they opened by themselves and before me were 3 massive thrones and sitting on them were 3 massive entities…. What were they? Humans? Monsters?Giants? Or were they….. Gods?

"Welcome to our palace,Mortal" Said the giant in the middle "I am the god of all gods, Zeus and beside me are my brothers, Hades and Poseidon"

I went down on my knees and bowed, this was the first time I've been intimidated since I was revived.

"Greetings, m-my name is A-Amaru Takushi, It's an honour to meet you"

The god on the left laughed, It was poseidon with his trident in hand

"Hahaha, brothers he is the one, every other mortal would be too intimidated to speak."

Next hades spoke

" Indeed Zeus, this was the right choice. This mortal will be the one to save us all"

" SILENCE BROTHERS, this mortal must be confused, let us explain to him the situation, after all his world is in grave danger"

Grave danger? Did the gods know the calamity was coming?

Just then a soldier burst in.

"Lord! The demons have broken through the first 3 lines of defence!"

Were the gods at war!?!

"Zeus, please explain to this mortal, hades and I shall go assist our army"

"Very well brothers, show them the rage of the gods"

Hades and Poseidon left, leaving me with Zeus.

"Listen well mortal as I will not repeat myself, the heavens are at war with hell. The demons are getting stronger at terrifying speed and are pushing against the gods. And now the demons are breaking out of hell and getting into the mortal world through dungeons"

"Through dungeons"

"Yes, dungeons are connected to the mortal world through portals as they are different worlds"

"Dungeons are different worlds?"

"Yes and each one of these worlds are also connected to hell. In a matter of time, the demons will break through the portals and raid your world. And this is where you come in. Prophecy has said a young mortal will defeat the demon king and put an end to this war, and I believe you are that mortal."

"Me? Prophecy?"

"Yes young one. I'm not asking you to do anything now, we just wish to give you a boost and to continue getting stronger. When the time has come the white portal will appear before you again and we shall discuss how we will defeat the demon king"

What kind of boost was he talking about?

Zeus stood up and walked towards me, he crouched town and touched my stomach with his index finger. I felt power rushing in.

[all stats growth is increased by 300%]

[mana is replenished 60% faster]

[feeds on heavenly essence]

What the fuck!! This was op!! And I can upgrade it 6 more times!

Zeus watched my shocked face staring into what seemed to him like thin air. He traced my gaze to see what I was looking at but saw nothing

"What a strange mortal"

So even the gods can't see the system I guess.

"Oh yes I almost forgot, a gift from hades and poseidon"

He also handed me a ring

"Mortal, continue to get strong. Surpass everyone and never give up. The gods are on your side"

The white portal opened behind me and sucked me back into my world. I fell back and once again I was staring up at the white moon in the night sky on green patches of grass.I put my hand up towards the moon with the feeling of power still rushing through my veins. Is this something a mortal can handle?

"I need to get home quickly "

I then got up on my feet.Stretched a bit and quickly went home.When I arrived home,I pushed the doorbell awaiting a warm welcome.that is until..

"I'm home !" I said with a warm smile and expecting the word "welcome back !"

"Welco-ugh what is that smell big brother."said Yui with a disgusting tone

"Go get a shower right now or no dinner for you" said mom.

I smelled myself and only to realize I smell malodorous.I went to shower as quickly as quickly as possible to remove the bad odor.After that I went to my desk to write out some things on what I gained from meeting the gods .

Meanwhile..The gods are having a talk on their separate thrones.

"What do you think, brothers ?"said Zeus with his lightning bolt resting in his hand.

"Looking at him,I see that he has high potential," said poseidon holding his golden trident.

"Indeed Poseidon,but he has yet to endure the future that holds him"said Hades with the dark aura around him.
