Cultivation! Is It Possible?

"Papa?" Yun Seok had borne a lot of wounds, fought a lot of battles and even suffered betrayal. But never had he been so shocked in his life. "Who is your papa?" He repeated like a retard man even when he knew the girl was calling her. It was because he was only a highschool pass out before getting transmigrated into another world. There could be no way that he had a child.

But the little girl's eyes. There was a striking resemblance between her and him. He gulped and looked at her mother for explainsation. But his eyes narrowed with an icy sheet covering them when he noticed her fidgeting while talking to doctors.

Though he had returned back to a normal person. He still had senses stronger than other humans. If he paid attention, he could hear their whispers.

"It will be better that you arrange it as soon as possible or we are not going to discharge the patient. And remember the charge for a private room is not cheap." His mother looked aghast suddenly. But she slowly nodded and turned to look at them, forcing a smile on her face.

His eyes flickered with a hint of treacherous thoughts. If he wanted, he could.. He shook his head. He was not that immortal now. He was a human with flesh and blood who would live a normal life. There was no need to think about other things.

"I am so relieved, son." his mother smiled at him as she sat on the small stool, "i would not lie, i have given up on hopes that i will ever talk to you again." he could see that xyz was trying to hide something.

The way she held her purse and her orbs shivered for a second left him frowning.

"Papa! Hold me." The little girl remembered her presence too as she stretched her tiny hands at him with watery eyes looking at him. The girl looked aggrieved. He had a strange feeling in his chest but at the same time he could not accept her as his daughter.

Xyz noticed his bewilderment and pulled the girl back in her arms. The girl wriggled again. She wanted to go to her father but xyz shook her head.

"There there, your father had just woken up. You must give him time to adapt his surroundings." father? Yun Seok's eyes narrowed at once. Confused. He looked at his mother with a thousand questions in his mind.

"Mother, about the child.." His mother sighed. There was so much to do.

"We will talk about it when you get discharged. All I can say is, I am so relieved that you have woken up, my son. I am so happy." She came closer and hugged him. The warmth of human flesh. How long had it been that he had faced something like that?

The little girl tried to hug her father too. Her hands were soft and tiny as if they were made up of the clouds he had touched when he was cultivating. But in the end, he had been betrayed. His heart went cold at that thought.

"The doctor had asked you to rest so we will be leaving for now." She stood up hurriedly and left with an unwilling girl.

He did not miss the vibration of the phone in her purse. She must be going to arrange the money. But how?

He laid back in his bed as the door of the room closed again. He was a mortal now! He did not need to be on alert constantly. No one could challenge him or start a battle. There would be laws protecting humans. He was a human! He had never thought he could be one again. He did not need to train hard to be the best. He could have rested with his family. His mother and his daughter!

The flashes of his hard training and battles kept flashing in front of his eyes as if tempting him to return to the world where he belonged. After all, he had cultivated there for 300 years in the immortal realm and now cultivation to him was as natural as breathing. He could leave that place, but that place would never leave him. Not only that he could not forget the powers he had achieved by cultivation.

He could not let go of that strength so easily. His hands clenched into a tight fist as the flashes of the last betrayal crossed his memory. His own brother?!

"Forget it! It is for good that I could not return there. I do not want to see their faces. All I want is to live with my family. I have to be stronger for them to fulfill their needs. I have already wasted enough of my time lying in this bed. But how did I get here?" he frowned, his face being gloomy again.

He did not remember getting into an accident or suffering any ailment that could put him in a vegetative state and the money required for this private room must be huge?

With the face of his mother, he could tell that she did not have enough money. She looked desperate and here he was thinking about the world that had betrayed him. The world he had left behind. His face hardened with resolve.

No, he was going to cultivate again but this time it would be for his family. He would be stronger so that he could support them and make sure that they have a happy life. He would bring all the luxuries of the world for them and be strong enough to protect them. But he laughed the next moment.

It was easy to talk about all these things, but in reality, he was only a highschool graduate now. How would he be able to earn enough to pay all the debts of his mother. Since he did not have a father, it must be so hard on her. How much loans had been accumulated? Could he ever pay them with a highschool degree that would only bring him low paying jobs that would only be a waste of his time?

"No, I have to find a way to cultivate. For his family and his mother."He sat up on the bed at once once the nurse left after giving him all the injections and medicines for his better health. Though he did not need them, he did not argue with her and let her do her task.

He closed his eyes and meditated. It was time to begin his cultivation. His eyes closed and he could feel the qi around him. But it was very thin and it was laced with something dark and ominous. He could feel the negativity coming from it. The qi was dark and full of dark shadows while normally, the qi is like a spring water lake, full of freshness and light. It made one relax and feel stronger at once.

This must be because he was in the hospital he concluded. There were so many injured people and death looming around all the time. What could he expect from such a place? It must be death qi he had seen in the battlefields until they were cleared of the dead bodies.

However this was not a good thing for him. When the cultivation began, the daintain was very sensitive. If the death qi entered in his body, it would corrode his daintain and he would be corrupted. It could be harmful not only for his cultivation but his mind. He could lose all the power and become cripple again or his heart would be corrupted.

He needs to leave this place to cultivate. His hard and strong eyes looked around. The small room could not stop his vision. The doctors had already taken their rounds and left. The nurses were making the last minute adjustments. Then they would stand out and chat with each other.

The soft smell of coffee must be for them. He was already served dinner though he had not touched it yet. All he needed to do was to wait patiently.

He observed the structure of the building until his nurse left from there. When it happened, he decided to walk slowly toward the upstairs. The roof would be the best place to test the qi again.

He did not take the elevators since visitors and hospital staff were around it. He took the stairs that were reserved as a fire exit. Slowly, his dark figure disappeared in the dark. And the moment, he left.

The door of his room was opened again, two men dressed in black entered the room and scanned it.

"No one is here!"
