Jason was the strongest warrior in the world. Of course, that all ended when he was killed. But was he truly dead… This novel is on hiatus for the time being ---------------------------------------------------- Disclaimer: the story does not revolve around the system No harem or any romance, I have no clue how to write that If the person who drew the cover wants it to be taken down tell me
I awoke with a start, glancing around to see what had woken me. I saw a pillar of flame shoot up to the sky in the distance.
I quickly threw off the blankets and stood up. Even thought the flame was a fair distance away I didn't want to take any chances.
I grabbed the dagger in one hand and the sword in the other ready for a fight. I kept watching the treeline waiting for someone or something to run out of it.
I was waiting tensely for a few minutes before I decided to explore the area where the flame came from.
I decided to jump down rather than waste time climbing when I could use that time to be getting free stats from whatever had caused the fire.
I started running to the place where I estimated the fire had come from. On the way, I saw many trees ripped from the ground or smashed to bits.
As I got closer I started seeing streaks of ash on the ground, probably from dead orcs burnt by the fire.
I shivered to look at a particularly big pile of ash. Before I was killed there was only one creature that could burn creatures to ashes and shoot flames as high as that into the sky.
If it was what I believed it was I was very unprepared and I would probably die. If I didn't die I would still sustain very heavy injuries.
Ultimately, I decided to try and kill the creature anyway. I thought that maybe this was why I was still in the tutorial. Maybe this was the actual boss.
As I got nearer I started hearing roars and screams. I upped my pace and soon arrived in a clearing.
I immediately stopped and got into a defensive stance, not that it was going to do against a fucking dragon.
He instantly smelled me and his head snapped to my position. I let out a sigh of relief. At least it was a child and not an adult.
Adult dragons had a cross in their eyes but children only had one line diagonally in their eyes. Even so, children dragons were renowned for fighting madly without reserve.
I slowly brought the dagger up in front of me and held the sword at my side ready for the dragon to charge. He leaned back and I tensed ready to jump the moment he jumped.
Instead of charging he opened his mouth and I dived to the side knowing what was coming. I blast of white-hot flame blew past me burning the grass and setting fire to the trees.
I rapidly got back on my feet ready for whatever attack he would throw at me. Instead of attacking the dragon looked at me curiously wondering why I haven't died yet.
I used that opportunity to run toward ready to stab the dagger into his eyes, a dragon's greatest weakness. Their eyes contained the power required to produce dragon breath and if I could stop him from doing that I would have an advantage.
The dragon jerked out of his surprise and moved his head to the side causing my dagger to scrape across his scales, sparks flying.
I swirly retreated, wary of the dragon whose scales didn't break even when I had a strength stat of 28 and a very sharp dagger.
He growled at me and lunged. My eyes widened surprised at the display of speed from such a massive creature.
I twisted to the side and his claw dug into my shoulder, flinging me backwards and into a tree. I dropped to the ground taking in shaky breaths.
I felt a tingle go down my back and I barely raised the dagger in time for it to block a claw swipe. Even though I blocked it I was still thrown through multiple trees by the sheer strength of the blow.
I groaned as I stood up, I needed to get out of here, and fast. I started to run away when I felt a blast of heat roll over my back.
I ducked a massive pillar of flame going above my head, so going a few hairs. It was at that moment that my scrambled mind remembered a crucial piece of information about child dragons.
Unlike adult dragons, child dragons had limited mana and had to replenish it after a certain time. After seeing the dragons eyes I estimated it would take about ten minutes for him to run out of mana and become weakened.
I decided to stay and dodge his fire blast until his mana ran out and I could attack him properly.
Ten minutes later I was beginning to get a bit worried. The dragon showed no sign of tiredness and his fire wasn't getting less hot.
I was contemplating running away coming back after I was stronger when I got back to my feet after dodging a fire blast expecting another one to come. It never came.
I looked over at the dragon and it was lying on the but forest floor panting. I wasted no time and immediately went over and stabbed it in the eye multiple times after.

"Well there is the notification I was waiting for," I said opening my status.
It didn't open. I tried again but it still didn't work.

I looked at the screen in front of me and rubbed my eyes. I stared, shocked. I looked way then looked back not believing it was real.
Just as I was about to pinch myself to see if I was dreaming my body fell to the ground. I looked around frantically searching for the cause of what happened. All of a sudden there was a bright flash and my vision went dark.
I slowly woke up in a massive white hall with pillars that looked to be made of pure light holding up the ceiling.
I got to my feet and looked around. I saw a door at the other side of the hall and started walking towards it. As I was walking I noticed that there were statues along the walls.
I went over to take a closer look and noticed they were made from pure mana. My jaw dropped. Before I was killed only the very skilled mages could make objects from mana and even then they were the size of a dagger and only lasted for a minute.
Whoever created these statues must have had an insanely large mana pool and exceptional control to get this level of detail.
I returned to the middle of the hall and continued walking towards the door. As I was walking my body started to feel heavier and heavier.
At around the middle of the way to the door, it started to get uncomfortable. I kept walking then suddenly the pressure doubled and I had to stop for a second to get used to it.
I kept pushing on until I felt I could go no longer and sat down. Before I was killed I had mastered the art of meditation and I wanted to see if I could meditate here to relieve some of the pressure.
After what I guessed was a few hours later I felt I had acclimatised to pressure and continued to walk towards the door. I kept repeating this process until I was about twenty metres away from the door and I was required to meditate every step.
I could slowly feel myself getting stronger but this was affecting my body. Every step I took I could hear my bones creaking, my skin showed signs of beginning to tear.
I prepared to take another step when,
