Chapter 16

Armand was there again, and Carl spent rather more time than he was comfortable with simply staring at the man. This time Armand seemed to notice Carl’s attention, and returned his gaze several times, at first with a curious, and then with a rather coy look. The latter was so heady that Carl almost forgot where he was after such a glance—for several minutes. Neither Jamal nor the man at the control unit seemed bothered by this. They hardly even seemed to notice it.

The net result was that Carl returned to his cell in a pother of confusion, both emotional, sexual, and even cognitive.

It was that night, during his sleep period, that Carl received a visit from Armand.

How he had done it, Carl didn’t know. But the luminance of the room did not change at his entrance, and so Carl didn’t wake at first. It was only when he felt the gentle touch of a hand on his shoulder that he shot out of sleep—and stared up at the shadowy form of the object of his passion.
