Chapter 25

I made a water roughly sphere in shape as I spoke and shot it out to the target I created earlier.

"Oh…"

"Calm your mind and focus on yourself, perceive the mana and let it flow throughout your body, concentrate…"

"…"

As I observe her, I saw water slowly appearing on her hand.

"Wow, you did it, you really did it. I'm impressed."

She opened her eyes and the moment she saw water ball on her hand she genuinely got exhilarated. She was so happy. Afterwards water wet the ground.

"Don't worry, it happens if you don't do anything to it after creating it. So why don't you try creating again and hitting that target."

I pointed towards the target with my words that I created.

"Okay."

She began. This time she didn't close her eyes. She faced towards the target afterwards snow ball appeared floating next to her palm and it went flying and hit the target.

"Ooh, splendid. Don't you think it's a lot easier than chanting?"

"Yes, it's a lot, a lot easier and, less time consuming than chanting."

"Yep, in real battles chant-less method always is at advantage because it's an instant process but chanting requires to say words and phrases by mouth which is time consuming. So let's call it a day."

"Yes…"

"Remember, magic isn't for showing off, It's to protect yourself and weak ones also don't stop practicing it. You'll get better before you know it."

I looked at the sky as I said it.

"Okay…, thank you."

"Yeah, are you going to leave now, if so I'm gonna walk you out."

I got the feeling that I'm forgetting something but what really is it?

We're about to leave… remember fast what am I forgetting… Oh, the magic book, I wanted to give her magic book so that she can progress with her magic without me.

"Okay."

"Wait a second, I'll be back."

I ran to get the magic book.

I moved to my room picked up the book and proceeded going outside.

As I reached outside there I saw two dad approaching the entrance. One was mine and the other one was my friend's. I smiled at them as they approached the entrance door.

I planned to give her this book and accompany her till the intersection however since her dad is here so she can stay here a bit more and go home with her dad.

"I'm glad you don't have to go home alone since your father is here you can go with him."

I said as I flip the book.

"Yes."

She nodded.

"This book, I'm giving it to you so you can continue study magic without me. No I'm not going anywhere. I mean you'd study this book at home everyday. That way you'll improve not only your magic but your reading skills too."

Or letter recognition or identification or simply literacy skills.

"Really, thank you so much."

"Yeah. I believe that you'll do great."

"By the way did you meet my father?"

"Yeah."

"Did he asked weird questions?"

"Yeah."

"He did? What? What did he asked?"

"He asked me if I'm your girlfriend."

She was blushing.

"Oh, and you answered him?"

"I answered him yes since we're friends."

"Oh."

Great, now my father thinks her as my girlfriend.

Well, it's not that I don't want her to be my girlfriend.

And what choice she had back then?

Wait, does she know what girlfriend actually mean?

I better ask.

"Do you know what girlfriend mean?"

"Yeah, a female friend and I also know what boyfriend means. It's male friend."

"Yeah however let me make one thing clear."

"Girlfriend is the one especial person I want to be with always and boyfriend is the one especial person you want to be with always."

"Simply, your mom is your dad's girlfriend and your dad is your mom's boyfriend."

"Oh, so my answer was correct, right?"

"Well, yeah."

"So are we also going to make babies when we became adults?"

She blushed as she asked that.

Why she asked that. What should I reply? Should I say yes or should I say no?

Shit.

By the way how she know about those things in the first place? Did she encountered her parents… you know… doing it?

"Um… well, ahem… ye-."

"What you two are doing?"

I was about to say yes however her father interrupted at the right time.

I thanked him inside my head for the interruption.

But why isn't my father with him? Oh, he must be helping mom.

She began as he interrupted.

"Dad!, dad!, Jason gave me his magic book. Look!, look!."

She genuinely was thrilled about it.

"Oh, right. So you gotta work hard to study this."

"Yes."

"Did you tank him for the book?"

"Yes."

She nodded.

I noticed something about her father. He wasn't holding any sword back then but now he's with a sword. I wonder if dad gave him that sword.

"You know, you and your father both give me and my daughter something valuable. I shall thank you also."

"Oh, don't worry about it."

Damn my hunch always comes correct.

They're about to leave so I walked them out to the entrance of my house or my parent's house.

"Until we meet again kid, farewell."

"Yeah, see you again, and once more thank you."

"Yeah…"

I watched them walk on the grassy path from the entrance.

My friend took a glance and waved at me happily so did I.

I was on the yard doing nothing, just looking at the sky.

It's always beautiful and calm.

I kept staring at sky and my surroundings randomly…

"Gazing beautiful piece of scenery and various aspects of nature soothes the soul."

I'm going to be six years old after next month. I wonder if my life will go like this always…

My son was carrying something with him when he got home yesterday. It looked like a piece of meat.

I asked him and found out that it's the monster's flesh he got from assisting two adventurers.

I questioned more about the adventurer but before that we talked about the monster.

According to him, it got three horns and two tail and tough skin with four legs and two eyes and a back full of spikes and tail. I got surprised by what he said about its attributes. Those characteristics were of rare monsters that can be found only some specific locations.

Those adventurer seemed to be traveling and just had arrived in the city. They were in the forest exploring it. He told me about them to be couple. Female one was magic user and male one was sword user.

I thought about them beings a high level adventurer since they hand taken down such monster but no.

Today I went to investigate with my friend about what my son and I talked yesterday. We first started from the forest.

Deep in the forest we found the carcass of the monster. It was really there, the rare one. It's skin was peeled and horns were cut off.

I thought about it being the work of those adventurer and I was right.

Later we left forest after researching there a bit. It seemed that the forest was going to filed with the activity of monster soon so we proceeded to report it to mayor and adventurer's guild.

In the guild we meet up with the new adventurer that my son told me about. When we talked about monster that he took down in the forest we found out he's not the one who killed it. He said someone else did it. According to him they got injured and unconscious while battling it and when they woke up they found themselves healed and the monster was there lying dead.

Then he talked about a kid showing up there and helping them to cut the monster's skin and horns. I asked about the kid's identification and it seemed the kind was my son. He added he gave my son his share for helping him which was one hundred and fifty gold coins after we introduced ourselves to him. He said my son was full of surprise. We also got surprised when he said my son cut through that monster's skin and horn with his small wooden sword.

He began to ask how I trained him but I couldn't answer him exactly what he wanted to hear due to the fact that I didn't teach him anything like that. I never had taught my son about any of the technique that he had used.

We kept conversing and left the guild afterwards. The adventurer head to his ways and we our way.

It seemed that the adventurer was going to stay in the city for a while so he asked us if he can do anything like hunting and slaying monsters. We discussed and agreed about he being our aid in slaying monsters and other things.

We left the guild and later while talking as we walked I found out that my friend needed a sword to fight with monsters. He told me his sword is fractured and needs refurbishment which would likely to take some time so since I had some extra sword at my home I decided to give one to him.

We reached the gate of my home and we saw a kid there. It seemed that the kid was my friend's daughter and as we reached her my son came out of the house holding a book on his hand. He noticed us and smiled.

I introduced myself to my friend's daughter so did she.

My friend told her that he and she'll go home together.

Afterwards we, my friend and me proceeded inside the house. We moved to the basement to take sword for him but before that we met with my partner. I suggested him to take time while choosing sword and a while after he chose a long sword. He thanked me and decided to leave. As I walked him outside the house my darling requested my aid so I said farewell to him and began helping her.
