T’was the Fabled Ragnarök

The kingdom of Matiy is on the coast of the continent. The kids running around, the warm sunbathed Syndel's skin as she looked up. The flowers, all colors you could possibly imagine, bathed the roadside, almost like the flowers near the kingdom. The kingdom's demographic was mostly elven of all races which was good but bad in Syndel's favor.

They reached the city of Bezelmoun and got settled in until the meeting was set to begin.

Syndel and Kendell walked around with the Ianbal knights.

The citizens of Bezelmoun looked astounded at how ethereal Syndel looked in her dress. It was black with rubies sewn into the fabric. And Kendell wore an all-black Ianbal suit with a jade necklace, which was crafted to keep his energy in check. Some gave ill-mannered stares at the Ianbal nobles but kept moving with their days.

"I really like this town; it reminds me of a place from my own world." Syndel said.

"Oh yeah?" He asked.

"Yes. The city of angels..." She spoke.

"After we look around for a little more, we should head back. Something feels off." Kendell said. He felt a slight headache coming but brushed it off.

"That's cool." She replied, they continued looking around until about fifteen minutes before they were supposed to meet up with the king again.

They began going back when a skirmish broke out in front of some food stalls. A bunch of smaller kids ran through grabbing various fruits and veggies running back through an alley. One of the children didn't steal anything and stood there frozen in fear.

"You dirty fucking brat, you stole my produce!" The man said as he lashed out, striking the poor child across the head with a club.

The child whimpered in pain; blood started slowly pouring from the wound the club had made. Everyone just watched uncomfortably as the angry man continued on assaulting the child as if it didn't bother them. Syndel's mind went on autopilot as she walked over to the man standing in front of him between the child and said, "don't you think that's enough?"

Kendell walked up and tended to the child.

"Haven't your father told you not to stick your nose where it doesn't belong?" He said angrily.

"You dare put your lowly hands on a child, that's when it became my business." She said, the sun hid behind clouds as the air slowly became warmer.

"Are you okay?" Kendell asked the young child after he cast high heal three on them.

The young girl nodded.

"Come with us when we leave." Kendell said to the child.

"You insolent bitch, watch your tone when you speak to me! I have you know I'm head of the Merchant's Coalition and I can have your head on a pike by noon!" He said not realizing.

Something within Syndel clicked. The air became still, not a breeze could be felt. It became very humid, Syndel's eyes flashed silver for a moment as she began to raise her right hand, but Kendell stopped her.

"This isn't the place to do that, scale down..." Kendell said.

Syndel turned and looked at Kendell, then she checked herself before continuing.

"What're you-" The man began to say.

The man did not realize he was arguing at Ianbal nobility, trying to backtrack; but it was all too late. Syndel punched the man in the stomach as hard as she could, the man gasped loudly as he hit the ground coughing up blood. She smiled and said, "have the day you deserve. Let's go, the meeting starts soon. "

"Gwahghhghghhh." The man said in pain as blood poured from his mouth.

Everyone still watched as Syndel, and company walked back to the capital. Kendell's body began slowly heating up again, a minor headache started as they walked back. The clouds darkened as if a storm was approaching, people began leaving the shopping district.

"Well, this is interesting, so that's the princess of Ianbal Kingdom..."

They made it to the meeting, Syndel and Kendell sat in the back away from the round table. A tall slender high-elven woman walked into the room behind them and made her way toward the empty seat at the roundtable.

"Kayin, you're damn near late. Where were you?" One of Matiy's council members asked.

"I couldn't miss the show, besides... The real show is to start soon." Kayin spoke, smiling and laughing.

Word got around immediately about what happened in the shopping district.

A man walked into the room and spoke with one of the council members then pointed at Syndel. They smiled and sent the man away.

"Now, before I continue. It's been brought to my attention that a scuffle happened in the shopping district."

"Can't we just skip over that for now? It's not our job to solve every literal problem that happens in this town." One of the council members said.

"I second, I would rather not hold this meeting longer than it needs to be."

The other two agreed.

"Very well then."

The meeting continued on as before.

"Now, with this alliance, this would give everyone in attendance access to our trade routes along the coast, call to arms if a siege were to happen, and you needed the manpower. We'd gladly send our forces to wherever." Kayin spoke leading the charge to finish the meeting.

"Would it be trouble to get a toll pass for going through Tuteni, we experienced a great deal of trouble coming north." King Ianbellis said.

"We're allies with Tuteni, we can definitely handle that for you." One of Cedrus' attendants replied.

"Now, I ask this for my own personal knowledge. That's the heir to your throne, yes?"

"Syndel? Yes, she is."

"I was referring to the man she's with, but that's good to know. The Ianbal kingdom will be in good hands.

"Kendell, could you come here really quickly?"

Kendell got up, he looked spaced out but responsive.

"I don't think I've ever seen someone like you... Not in decades, how peculiar. How old are you?"

"I recently turned twenty. You?"

"I turn one hundred-and-twelve this year? My, has time passed me so." She spoke

Kendell looked impressed almost. She got up to touch Kendell's arms, she could already feel his large pool of mana coursing through his body.

"I think that's enough." Syndel spoke, walking up.

"The heir, the one and only. You don't look a day over twenty."

"I'm only twenty-three." Syndel retorted.

"You're half-elven? No, that's not it. What-"

"Alright, is everyone in agreement with the terms listed?"

"Yes." They all said in unison before signing the document.

Syndel and Kendell walk to the back of the room.

"Hey... Let's get out of here, something doesn't feel right." Syndel said, she could feel the nature around them becoming upset for some reason. Like a rogue nature spirit had been released, but that wasn't it at all.

Kendell had a distraught look upon his face, like something already went wrong. He got up but could barely stand up straight, she grabbed his hand, and they left the room immediately but silently. She carried him, going around searching for someone to see what's wrong with him. When they got to the front of the building, Kendell hit the ground breathing heavily, exhausted almost. The air outside began to become thick, and the sun hid behind the clouds.

"What's happening?" Syndel thought to herself.

The scent of burning fabric filled the air almost immediately, Syndel was completely at a halt. These strange symbols began on Kendell's forehead and slowly filled up his entire upper half. The scent from before was his clothing slowly being burned by his body, Syndel pulled the shirt off Kendell to stop any further burning. His skin was hot as lava, tattoos began forming on his chest and what seemed to be a dragon formed from his neck to his abdomen. Large raindrops fell to the ground in almost an instant, the sound of rain drowned out everything.

When the runes and tattoo finished, it bled into his skin merging with him. Syndel had no idea what to do, she couldn't call for help, but help wasn't needed at this point.

Kendell picked himself up slowly, his eyes were blacked out in a trance-like state, he began whispering something and slowly became louder. Syndel was again lost at what to do, so this time she ran into the meeting and interrupted it.

"Someone help! Something's wrong with Kendell!" She cried out.

Everyone turned and looked at her.

Kayin looked up and smiled. "It's time."

"What is it now!?" One of the council members yelled.

"Hunc locum fulmine perdere ut mundus Ragnarök excitavit."(Destroy this place by lightning as Ragnarök has awakened the world)

It slowly became louder until everyone could hear it, one of Hana's high elves picked up on what was about to happen. He looked at one of Cedrus' attendants, and they all nodded.

He stood up in panic, his voice trembled in fear. At an attempt, Fahril grabbed his attendant's hand and tried to run towards the door immediately.

"We need to go now! This is Rag-"

A lightning strike hit the building leaving everyone stuck silent, the silence was enough to hear the many hearts beating in the room. Nearly five seconds of silence spread within the room, they huddled together. Shortly after, the entire building exploded, and a loud boom rang throughout the kingdom. Syndel ran up and grabbed King Ianbal bracing for impact.

Collapsed debris covered everyone except those from the Cedrus kingdom, the barrier deactivated, and they stepped out to try to help those buried. Syndel was buried so far underneath the rubble, she slowly began getting crushed. Running out of air to breathe, Kendell was nowhere to be found and many of those hit by this are gone.

Everything within sixty yards was completely destroyed and charred. Bodies sprawled out, burned, some missing limbs, people screamed in agony begging someone to end it for them. As the smoke cleared, Kendell walked up in shock at what just happened, trembling. His body took nearly half of the strike. Using the last of his strength to let out a scream of despair, his body thumped the ground hard. The knights from the gates arrived and were completely astounded and terrified in the aftermath.

Rai made it outside with his attendant and looked at Kendell with the dragon still emitting steam. Inside the crater, but Rai had no intention of helping him at this point.. Atleast not directly.

"This is Ragnarök..." He said.
