“How’s Abi’s condition?” I asked the doctor with my index finger tapping his desk, showing him how impatient I was.
It had been a few days, and they hadn't told me whether Abigail could be discharged or not.
“Abigail and her baby are both fine,” the doctor reassured me and added with a nervous smile, “But we can't discharge her yet.”
Still the same answer…
“Thank you, doctor,” I nodded at him and left his office.
I went back to Abi’s ward and stopped before entering with my hand on the door handle.
I closed my eyes and took a deep breath to calm myself down, but I still couldn't curb the urge to give her a good slap for once again ruining my what should be perfect plans.
Opening the door, I saw her lying on the bed weakly, and instead of feeling sorry for her, it increased my annoyance toward her.
I sat on the chair next to her bed and glared at her.
“Mom…” she looked at me with guilt.
